A severe epidemic of cholera was the reason so many people died especially in the northern part of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, in the towns of Wiltz and Diekirch. All regions of the country were concerned. The distance from Diekirch to Oberdonven is approximately 30 km i.e., 20 miles. Ee Kaazespronk (Katzensprung) or a catleap (!) for the virus vibrio cholerae.
