Coughlin, Margaret A. "Peg", A ppleton; Age 69. A loving wife, mother, nonnie, and friend passed away sud denly on April 1, 2004, while on vacation with girlfriends in South Caroli na and Georgia. She was born on April 5, 1934, in La Crosse, Wis. the daug hter of the late Mathias and Margaret (Farrell) Flock. On Aug. 3, 1957, s he married Richard "Dick" Coughlin in La Crosse. She graduated from Sai nt Francis School of Nursing in 1955 as a Registered Nurse. She was a dedi cated nurse in the Psychiatric field for 45 years until she retired in 199 9. Peg volunteered for Leaven and St. Vincent De Paul and distributed comm union at church and hospitals.She is survived by her husband Richard "Dick" Coughlin of Appleton; Ter ri Coughlin of Cleveland Ohio; Jeff (Ginny) Coughlin and their children Ad am, Benjamin, and Emma all of Merton, Wis; Kevin (DaRae) Coughlin and the ir children Andrew and Cameron of Omro, Wis; Mary Beth (Jeff) Otto and the ir children Nick, Megan, and Katie of Darboy, Wis; Patty Jo Coughlin of Ph oenix, Arizona; and many other relatives.Peg was passionate about living life to the fullest. Her family and multit ude of friends meant the world to her and she would drop everything to le nd a hand or comforting shoulder. She had such a positive outlook on lif e, wonderful smile, and fun-loving spirit that influenced everyone she me t. Peg had boundless energy and pursued her artistic passions through quil ting, sewing, rosemaling, painting, and teaching three of her grandsons h ow to paint. In addition, she relished in meeting and turning strangers in to friends, and the travels her adventurous nature took her, as impractic al as some of those journeys may have seemed to the rest of us. She was al so dedicated to improving her health through walking, swimming, and worki ng out. Peg was particularly proud of her Irish heritage — evident to al l, through her smiling eyes.The mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Tuesday, Apr il 6, at 12 Noon at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 North McDonald S treet with the Rev. Gerald Falk officiating. Visitation will also be on Tu esday, April 6, at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the mass. Lunc heon and an Irish celebration of Peg's life will be held at the Columbus C lub, 2531 N. Richmond Street, following the mass. A memorial fund is bei ng established for Leaven.
