    Obituary:
    John "Jack" Hartzheim, age 87, of Menasha, ran to Heaven on Thursday, September 26, 2013, from his home. Jack was born on May 22, 1926, son of the late Victor and Anna Hartzheim. Jack attended Appleton High School and joined the United States Navy when he was 17 years old. He served on the U.S.S. Morris and was a proud Kamikaze WWII survivor. Jack married his high school sweetheart, Delores Malchow, on December 31, 1945, while on leave from the Navy. After returning home, Jack was employed at Fluor Brothers Construction, Oshkosh for over 65 years.
    Jack will be remembered as a hardworking man that always put the love of his family first. He also enjoyed being a member of the VFW and American Legion, fishing, backing the Green Bay Packers and building bird houses.
    Jack is survived by his five children, John (Jane) Hartzheim, Vicki (Ron) Fritz, Laurie (Pat) Doule, Betsy (Chris) Hartzheim and Carol (Freddy) Ramirez; 11 grandchildren, Amy (Ron) Schuh, J.J. and Adam Hartzheim, Tina (Jeff) Holum, Ryan and Scott (Jennifer) Fritz, Kelly (Kasia), Erin and Shannon (Bill Peterson) Doule, Zac (Mel) Hartzheim and Cori Jo Hartzheim; 10 great grandchildren, Jake, Ian Hannah Grace, Abby, Lilly, Hunter, Wyatt, Elise, Cailey and Carlos, Jr.; his sister, Elaine Lillge; he will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Delores; his mother and father; and his son, Kurt.
    A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 11:00 a.m on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL (3212 S. Oneida St, Menasha) with Rev. Mike Huff officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m until the time of service with military honors to follow. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Jack's name.     Jack's family would like the thank Affinity Hospice, especially Shelly, Liz, and Kristin for their care and compassion.
