    J. H. Kampo. An Appleton Student. Accused of a Serious Offense
    James H. Kampo. a young Appleton resident was brought up for trial in municipal court this morning: on the charge of obtaining money under false pretences. The case was adjourned until August 29, and Kampo remanded to Jail to await trial. Kampo was arrested August 11 on a warrant sworn out by Fred Hellach of Menasha. and the complaint sets forth that Kampo pretended to be taking orders for The Milwaukee Sentinel and offered to deliver the paper for three months for 25 cents cash. Hellach subscribed and paid Kampo the money, but received no paper. Investigation showed that no such man as Kampo was in the employ of The Sentinel company. Kampo was arrested on the above charge and brought before Justice McCabe August 12. He took the stand in his own behalf and testified as follows:….
