    Plank, Jr., William J. “Bill ”William J. “Bill” Plank, Jr., of Appleton, age 65, died Wednesday, Oc t. 6, 2004 at his home following brain cancer. Bill was born Aug. 6, 19 39 in Appleton to the late William and Virginia (Westphal) Plank Sr. He w as a graduate of St. Mary Catholic High School in Menasha, and a gradua te of Lawrence University. On June 24, 1961, Bill married Carol Schuel er at St. Mary’s in Menasha, and the couple has enjoyed 43 years togethe r. Bill was president and third generation owner of the family busine ss - J. J. Plank Corporation and Spencer Johnston Company from 1967 to 199 8. He was one of several founding members of the Outagamie chapter of Duc ks Unlimited. Bill was a strong supporter of the Webfooter Water Ski Cl ub in Fremont. He was a member at St. Bernard Catholic Church.Survivors include his Wife Carol, of Appleton; two sons, Joe (Cheree) Plan k, Appleton; and David (Kathleen) Plank, Appleton; a daughter, Jill Plan k, Neenah; two grandchildren: Andy and Katie Plank; and a brother-in-la w, Bob (Rita) Schueler, Fla.A Mass of Resurrection will take place 4 p.m. Monday Oct. 11th at St. Bern ard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton with the Rev. John Bergst ad officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 1 p .m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has be en established.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Theda Care at Hom e, Home Instead, Dr. Tom Wascher, David Bond, and the Neuro Spine Cent er of Wisconsin for the compassionate care shown to Bill during his illnes s.Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer606 N.
