Obituary:
Rose Ann Flanagan-Baltus, age 70 of Laona, 70, died Tuesday morning, Mar ch 23, 2004 following an extended illness. She was born June 18, 193 3, to the late Louis and Helen (Jaeckels) Schmidt in Hollandtown and had b een an area resident all of her life. Rose was the co-owner, for 25 year s, of Flanagan's Party-Port, which opened in 1957 and later was known as F lanagan's Stop & Shop. Following this she opened the Super Slim Diet Salo n, on College Avenue and was then employed by Accurate Alignment. Rose mar ried James T. Baltus on April 14, 1992, in Las Vegas, after knowing each o ther for seven weeks. She was a member of St. Leonard Catholic Church, Lao na.Survivors include her husband, James T. Baltus; a son, Patrick Flanagan a nd his special friend, Judi Austin, Greenville; a daughter and son-in-la w, Kelly and Jeff Frischner, California; four grandchildren, James, Josep h, Victoria and McKayla Frischner; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary a nd Elmer Buechler, Wrightstown; Betty and Bill Nelson, California; a broth er and sister-in-law, Bob and Elaine Schmidt, Kaukauna; a sister-in-law, D orothy Schmidt, Seymour; a step-grandson, Michael (Susan) Goodin; two step -great grandsons, Mike and Billy Goodin and the rest of the Baltus Famil y; special friends, Linda Kenseth, Mary Ann and Clete Feldkamp, Wayne a nd Rose Konitzer, Mary and Jim Rheinhart; a sister-in-law, Val Flanagan a nd the rest of the Flanagan Family; and her faithful friends in Arizona.She was preceded in death by a brother Paul Schmidt and an infant siste r, Helen Lou Schmidt.A memorial funeral liturgy for Rose will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Mar ch 27, 2004, at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette Street, wi th Father Donald Zuleger officiating. Friends may call at the church on Sa turday from 9:30 am until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers a memor ial fund is being established.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Francisc an Care and Rehabilitation Center, especially Brenda, Marie and Marion f or their loving care and support and to all of the family and friends w ho visited.
