    Obituary:
Sherwood - Roger C. Kloeppel, 78, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 28th. Though his heart was tired, that heart of "gold" will live on in all those who knew him. Roger was born on February 15, 1939, in the town of Woodville to Mike and Marie (Suttner) Kloeppel.
Roger graduated from Hilbert High School. He married the love of his life, Carol Thiel, on July 28, 1962 at St. John's Catholic Church. They were blessed with 55 years of marriage.
Roger & Carol farmed on their Corner Lawn Dairy Farm near Hilbert for many years. His love for animals and the outdoors earned Roger and his family many awards while farming including the AMPI Outstanding Young Dairy Couple and the Century Farm Ownership Award. Upon retiring from farming, Roger was employed by Winkler Oil Company/Co-operative Service Oil of Chilton. He was also a charter school bus driver, which led to his dream job of driving a motorcoach for Lamers' Bus Lines, which he did for over 21 years. He loved driving family, friends and strangers (many of whom became friends) all over the country. He received the Attitude & Achievement Award and the Customer Service & Sales Award from Lamers'. Roger was a highly-requested driver thanks to his warm personality and kind heart.
While living in Hilbert, Roger was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He always found time to help others and served as a catechist, president of the Parish Council during church construction, was a member of the Men's Club and an usher. Roger was also a long-time member of the Hilbert Lions' Club.
After moving to Sherwood, Roger and Carol joined St. John - Sacred Heart Church. Roger was active as a lay minister and was serving the Lord at the time of his death.
Roger will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Carol, his children, Lynn (John) Fink, De Pere, Dr. Brian (Deanne) Kloeppel, Franklin, NC, Cheryl (Peter) Gianopoulos, Appleton, Craig (Kim) Kloeppel, Big Bend. He will also be greatly missed by his eight adoring grandchildren: Aaron & Isaac Fink, Lexi & Brock Kloeppel, Adrianna & Dominic Gianopoulos, and Breanna & Isabel Kloeppel. He is further survived by his in-laws, Doris Stommel, Donald & Lois Thiel, and Daniel & Joanne Thiel.
He was preceded in death by a one-year-old son, Kevin, in 1965, his parents, his brother, Kenneth, and sister-in-law Mary Kloeppel, brother-in-law Roland Stommel, and maternal parents Alfred & Hildegarde (Coonen) Thiel.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at St. John - Sacred Heart Church in Sherwood with Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main Street) in Chilton from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, February 2 and again on Saturday at the church from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. when the funeral mass will be held. A parish prayer service will be held on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences at wietingfuneralhome.com
Roger's family would like to thank Father Mike, first responders, nurses and emergency personnel as well as the doctors and hospital staff who worked so tirelessly to try to save him.
Dad, we love you and everything you stood for. May we all live life more like you. We will miss you so much!
As Dad would say, "Go and have some fun!"
