Obituary:
Mary E. Rogers (Niesz), age 76, passed away peacefully at her home on Thur sday August 24, 2006. Mary was born in Kaukauna to Michael and Anna (Krem s) Niesz on September 20, 1929. On September 30, 1961, she married John Ro gers. Mary was a lifelong resident of the area. She loved the personal con tact she had with the patients as a medical secretary at the various posit ions she held. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and vol unteered her time whenever needed.
Mary is survived by her husband, John; a son, William (Sandra) Rogers of A ppleton; two daughters, Anna (Joseph) Knuijt and Jane (David) Thorson, bo th of Appleton; a brother, Joseph (Annette) Niesz of Kaukauna; a brother-i n-law, Thomas (Arlene) Rogers of Appleton; a sister, Anna Hagany of Kaukau na, sisters-in-law: Lillian Niesz and Rosemary Niesz of Kaukauna; Ethel Ni esz of Little Chute; and Shirley Jeffers of New London. Mary is further su rvived by four grandchildren: Austin and Peter Thorson and Shawn and Jac ob Knuijt and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mary in death are her parents; three brothers: John, Jacob and M ichael Niesz: a sister, Catherine Fink; three brothers-in-law: Clem Fink a nd Leo Hagany and Dean Jeffers.
Funeral Services for Mary will be held at 11 a.m. Monday August 28, 200 6, at St Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald, with Fr. Gerald Fa lk officiating. Visitation will be at Valley Funeral Home on Sunday Augu st 27, 2006, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and also on Monday at the church fr om 9 a.m. until the time of service. There will also be a vigil servi ce at the funeral home on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice nurs es and and staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice and also Theda Care Hospice nur ses and CNA's for their compassionate care and concern.
Special thanks to Fr. Gerald Falk for his faithful visits and also to S r. Betty for her visit.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund is being establis hed.
