    Rufus Wanta, 92, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Mount View Care Cente r, in Wausau.Rufus was born April 7, 1912, in Callon to the late Frank and Mary (Platt a) Wanta. He married Irene Wyro Jan. 23, 1937. She died in 1996.He drove semi-trucks for Pope Bros., Albrent Freight and other trucking co mpanies for 30 years, and after retiring, Rufus helped his brother, Vi c, at Wisconsin Sheet Asphalt in Schofield for a number of years.Rufus is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Arthur) Miller, Wausau, Susa nn (Dave) Wallen, Seattle, Wash., and Shirley Storlie, Lebec, Calif.; a nd four grandchildren, Haldyn (Amy) Walden, Gradie Wallen, Shannon Storli e, and Eric Storlie.The funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at The Chur ch of the Resurrection Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. The Rev. Steven G ross will officiate. Burial will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, Callon, whi ch is on the family farm where he grew up. Visitation will be from 9:30 a. m. until the time of services at the church.Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield, is assisting the family with t he arrangements
