Description: Johann Melchert (ca1808-1876) married Wilhelmine Ziemer the daughter of Johann and Wilhelmine Ziemer. They lived near Berlin at Brandenburg, Prussia. In 1853 the family emigrated to America and settled in Dodge Co., Wisconsin. They were the parents of Louis, William, Carl, Maria and August. Johann had a brother Frederich William who married Maria Dorothea Bielisch. They were the parents of Fredericka Alvina Maria Mathilda (b.1846) and Amanda Rosalin Alvina (b.1851). Family members also lived in Outagamie Co., Wisconsin. Several generations of descendants are given.
