Josepha, Gary Indiana; Mrs. Ted Leisgan g, Seymour; 23 grandchildren; two brothers, Fred and Walter Romenesko, Eat onville Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Dora McGraw, Sister Calasanz, Gre en Bay. Mrs. Schuh was president of the Alter Society and a member of S t. Theresa's society of St. Nicholas Church at Freedom. Funeral services w ill be held at 9:30 Monday morning at St. Nicholas Church, Freedom, with b urial in the parish cemetery.

Took her first vows on 7/23/1919, fin al vows on 7/16/1924, Taught schools most of her life. Then worked at S t. Joseph's Orphanage in Green Bay.
From the files of the Congregation of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Mi lwaukee WI. ; The following hand written autobiography was found in Sist er Josepha's file;I, Sister Mary Josepha - Teresa Schuh was born April 30, 1896 at Freedo m, baptized in St, Nicholas church and named after my dear grandmothe r. On my first day at school, I sat close to my brother. The teacher ask ed my brother his name. He answered very slowly, "Ja-cup", (Jacob) Schu h. Then she asked me my name, I answered "Trace-cup Schuh" thinking that " -cup" belonged there. The teacher and pupils had some fun out of it.We had to help on the farm very much. My father owned 168 acres of clear l and. In spring and fall we had to stay home from school to work in the fie lds. When I was 17 years old I wanted to be a sister like my two Auntie s, Sister Calixta and Calasanza. Sickness prevented me until I was 19. T wo heavy operations cured me. After receiving permission from the family d octor, pastor and my parents I left for Milwaukee Aug. 1915. This was my f irst train ride. I had never seen a big city before. Homesickness was qui te hard on me for some time.In November of the same year, I was sent to Kenosha. My second year as can didate I was stationed at St. Leo's Milwaukee. At the end of this year I w as permitted to prepare for my holy vows. August 2nd 1917 I entered the No viate. My second years as novice I went to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin at Ho ly Ghost Mission. The following July 23, 1919, I was permitted to make pro fession, after which I returned to Chippewa, where I remained eight more y ears. After these eight years I was sent to St. Paul's Chicago, to ta ke up the same kind of work I was used to, First and Second grades with sa cristy work. In Feb. of that year I was transferred to Belvidere, Ill. Unt il June when I went to the motherhouse to be repaired. The following Augu st I came to Lottaville, where I still am, to take the first and second gr ades there, together with my dear church work. I would feel lost if this c harge were taken away from me. Mr. Schuh farmed in the Freedom area until his retirement. He had be en an Appleton resident for the past 38 years. He was a member of the S t. Therese Catholic Church, a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, a nd a member of the Holy Names Society. Survivors include four daughters a nd sons-in-law, Rita and Lee Tessen, Little Chute; Cecilia and Joseph Sme t, Sherwood; Virginia and Joseph Martin, Greenleaf; Dolores (Dee) and Gera ld Smith, Schofield; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Judy S chuh, Little Chute; Richard J., Oshkosh; Theodore and Shirley, Appleto n; a brother and sister-in-law, Norbert and Catherine Schuh, Zephyr Hill s, Florida; a sister , Philomena Liesgang, Seymour; 41 grandchildren and o ver 60 great grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law, Pat Zornow and Bet ty Schuh. Mary M. Kelpinski, age 88, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Mary was born on July 1, 1922, in Five Corners, Outagamie County, to the late Jake and Genevieve (Van Asten) Schuh. She married Merlin E. Kelpinski on September 20, 1944; he survives. Mary was employed in the Sears Catalog Department in Appleton for over 42 years, retiring in 1984. She was a well-known volunteer at St. Elizabeth Hospital and St. Joseph Catholic Church kitchen. Mary enjoyed card playing and was a member of several card clubs and, together with Merlin, enjoyed square dancing and had many happy years at their cottage in Waupaca.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Merlin; her children, David (Anita) Kelpinski, Dianna Kelpinski, Dan Kelpinski and Debbie (Dave) Ganzen; her grandchildren, Rick (Lynn) Kelpinski, Dawn (Ken) Marquardt, Kelly Ganzen and John Ganzen; her great-grandchildren, Kristina Marquardt and Casey and Lindsay Kelpinski; her brothers, Don (Pat) Schuh, Roger (Nancy) Schuh, Gene (Bernadette) Schuh, Vern (Ann) Schuh; and her sister, Glady (Harry) Vanden Boogardt.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Schuh.
The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Fr. Jim Leary officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Rita T. Tessen, Town of Vandenbroek, age 92, died Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the American Grand. She was born in Freedom on December 31, 1924 to the late Fred and Catherine (Meulemans) Schuh. Rita married Leland Tessen on June 19, 1947. She enjoyed traveling, painting by numbers, caring for her plants and researching ancestory. Rita was a loving mom and loved all of her Godchildren, nieces and nephews as well as her dogs, Skipper, Tiny and Penny.
Rita is survived by her son, Kenneth of Town of Vandenbroek; brothers: James Schuh and Ted Schuh; brothers-in-law: Leonard Tessen and Jerry Smith; and six God children. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Leland; son, David Tessen; father and mother-in-law: Alfred and Viola Tessen; siblings: Richard (Betty) Schuh, Harold (Pat) Schuh, Virginia (Joe) Martin, Delores Smith, Cecelia (Joe) Smet; brothers and sisters-in-law: Judy Schuh, Shirley Schuh, Harold (Audrey) Tessen and Lois Tessen.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 4:30 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:30 p.m. The Rev. Cecilia A. Smet, age 90, of Sherwood, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. She was born on March 27, 1926 to the late Fred and Catherine (Meulemans) Schuh. She married Joseph Smet on April 8, 1948 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom, Wisconsin. Together Ceil and Joe operated their family dairy farm for the majority of their marriage.
Ceil worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a candy striper before her marriage. After she married, she was a full-time devoted wife and mother. She lived her life giving to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren always knew that Grandma would have chocolate chip cookies and suckers when they arrived for visits. Ceil was known for always putting everyone's needs before her own.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church as well as the Saint Ann Society. She enjoyed her weekly Sherwood Ladies Bowling League, playing Sheepshead with friends and family, crocheting and needle point.

Virginia L. Martin, 88, died Sunday, August 16, 2015 at her home in Wayside Parkview Estates.
She was born April 25, 1927 in Freedom, WI to the late Fred and Katherine Meulemans Schuh. She married Joe Martin on May 13, 1948 at Freedom, WI. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2011. Virginia was a graduate of Freedom High School. She was an accomplished baker, including making wedding cakes for family and friends and ice cream pails of cookies for the grandchildren. She partnered with Joe in the operation of their dairy farm in the Town of Morrison. They enjoyed polka dancing with the "We Love to Dance Club" and after their retirement, traveled extensively throughout the United States.

Dolores "Dee" Smith (Schuh), age 73, of Arbor Vitae, passed away at her home in the beautiful northwoods on Friday, April 15 surrounded by her loving family. Dee was born on November 28, 1937, in Freedom (Appleton), Wisconsin, to Fred and Catharine (Meulemans) Schuh. She married Gerry (Gerald) Smith on August 17, 1957, and they settled in Wausau to raise their family. They retired to their beautiful cabin in the northwoods in 1991 where they enjoyed twenty wonderful years surrounded by nature, enjoying gardening, swimming, hiking, biking, canoeing and cross-country skiing. Their passion for nature also led them on many travels throughout the United States in their camper. Dee treasured the simple joys of life: nature, flowers, snowflakes, sunsets, children and time spent with family and friends.

Mary Jo Vanden Boogaard, Kaukauna, age 54, died Monday, January 10, 2011, at her home. She was born August 25, 1956, to Joseph and Cecilia (Schuh) Smet. Mary Jo married Bryan Vanden Boogaard on July 26th, 1980, at Sacred Heart Parish in Sherwood. She enjoyed camping, sewing and traveling and cherished time spent with family and friends. Mary Jo was a loving wife and mother who has touched many people's hearts throughout her lifetime. Among friends and family she was known for her kindness, her quick wit, her love of life and her endless devotion towards those she loved. Mary Jo also was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish.
Mary Jo is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Bryan; children: Becky (Chris) Burns, Kaukauna; Jaren (special friend Jamie Thompson), Kaukauna; and Eric of Kaukauna; parents: Joseph and Cecelia (Schuh) Smet; siblings: Jane (Robert) Schaefer, Patricia (Dennis) Dakins, Sandra (David) Broeren, Joseph (Laura) Smet; sisters-in-law: Dawn (Mark) Van Oss and Lynn (Dan) Peerenboom; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her nephew, Luke Peerenboom; and father- and mother-in-law James "Big Jim" and Helen Vanden Boogaard.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH - ST. ALOYSIUS CHURCH (2401 Main Ave. Kaukauna) beginning at 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church cafeteria. The Rev. Jerry Pastors will officiate. Karen Marie Janssen, age 61, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2012 at Cherry Meadows Hospice with her family at her side. She was born August 5, 1950 in Appleton to James and Julia (Coenen) Schuh and was united in marriage to Charles Janssen of Little Chute on June 2, 1972. Karen graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1968 and attended the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, where she met Charles. She enjoyed ceramic painting, flower arranging, jewelry design, cross-stitch, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and travel.
Karen is survived by her husband Charles of Appleton; son Brian of Madison; daughter Amanda Borleske, husband John, and very special grandchildren Sorina and Malaina, of Verona; parents James and Julia Schuh of Little Chute; brothers: Gary, Kaukauna; Jim (Yvonne), Kaukauna; Bill (Mary Jo), Kaukauna; Mike (Cheryl), Appleton; and Jeff (Lynn), Appleton; brother-in-law Tom (Phyllis) Janssen, Kaukauna; sisters-in-law: Jan (Ron) Rabideau and Patricia (Patrick) Farrell, both of Kaukauna; and wonderful friends Penny, Jenny and Nancy; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and their spouses.
Karen was preceded in death by her sister Susan Schuh; her beloved godmother Sharon Belling; her grandparents; and other uncles, aunts and cousins.

Skylar Marie Schuh, age 3 weeks, infant daughter of Brenda L. Schruck and Timothy G. Schuh of rural Berlin, passed away on St. Valentine's Day, February 14, 2013 at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin-Fox Valley in Neenah. Skylar was born January 23rd. of this year in Neenah.
In addition to her parents, Skylar is survived by 2 half sisters and a half brother, Jacob & Emily Schuh & Kayla Jansen; her maternal grandparents, Edwin and Mary Schruck of Wautoma; her paternal grandparents, Gary Schuh of Kaukauna and Jill & Clarence Trentlage of Combined Locks; her paternal great-grandparents, Virginia Peterson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jim and Judy Schuh of Kaukauna. aunts & uncles Dan & Rena Schruck of Wautoma, Mike & Tracy Schruck of Magnolia Springs Alabama, Sarah Schuh and Neils Quest of Los Angeles, California, Jenny Schuh of Rochester Minnesota. Skylar is also survived by cousins, and other dear relatives.
Skylar was preceded in death by a half-brother, Nathan Schruck Simonson, a half-sister, Chloie Schuh, her paternal great-grandfather, Howard Peterson, and her maternal great-grandparents, Ray and Beth Arendt and Harold and Virginia Schruck
GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICES for Skylar Marie Schuh will be held Wednesday, February 20th. at 11:00 A.M. at the Marion Cemetery (22nd. Avenue, South of Highway 21 across from the Waushara Community Church), rural Wautoma. Those attending the Services should meet directly at the Cemetery. Use the South Entrance. Father Robert L. Stegmann will officiate. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery.
MEMORIALS will be appreciated in place of flowers.
