    Charles J. Schaefer 207 Whitney St., Kaukauna Age 56, passed away unexpectedly at 11:15 p.m. Sunday. He was born March 11, 1911 in Kaukauna and had been a resident of Kaukauna most of his life. He was employed at Giddings and Lewis Machine Tool Company since 1935. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary Catholic Church; a member of the Knights of Columbus; Financial Secretary of the Foresters for the past 21 years; the St. Mary's Usher Society. Mr. Schaefer is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Donna) Vanden Heuvel, Rt. 1, Kaukauna; four sons, Jerome, Crawfordsville, Ind.; Dennis, U.S. Air Force, Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas; Joseph, St. Norbert College; John, at home; his mother, Mrs. Katherine Schaefer, Appleton; one brother, Cecil, San Jose, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Theresa) Van Eyck, Appleton; Mrs. Lawrence (Virginia) Schmitz, Kimberly; 4 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Knights of Columbus and parish rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

    Theresa "Terry" Van Eyck, age 82, of Darboy, passed away at Cherry Meadows on Saturday, March 12, 2011. Terry was born on August 13, 1928, in Kaukauna, to the late Frances and Katherine (Schomisch) Schaefer. She married Charles Van Eyck on September 11, 1954 in Kaukauna. Terry was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of two bridge clubs and was an avid reader. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Charles; her children, James Van Eyck, Darboy; Thomas (Cindy) Van Eyck, Parkville, Missouri; Gerald (Gail) Van Eyck, Mill Creek, Washington; Steven Van Eyck, Shiocton; Mary (Douglas) Bath, Menominee Falls; Jean (Steve) Figlinski, Black Creek; and Patrick Van Eyck, Madison, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Matthew, Mark and Luke Van Eyck; Jacob Van Eyck; Steven Van Eyck; Aaron and Joshua Bath; and Zachary Figlinski and Kylie Petersen. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Schmidt and her brothers, Charles, Ferdinand and Cecil. The Funeral Liturgy will be at Noon on Friday, March 18, 2011, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH-DARBOY CAMPUS, W5831 Highway KK, Darboy, with Fr. David Beaudry officiating. Friends may call at the Jansen-Fargo Funeral Home, Kimberly, on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. There will be a Parish Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Teri Reigel, her home caregiver, and to the staff at Cherry Meadows, for their loving care. A memorial has been established in her name.

Virginia was born in Kaukauna on Nove mber 13, 1929, daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Schomisch) Schaef er. On June 14, 1952, she married Lawrence Schmitz in Kaukauna; he preced ed her in death in September of 2000.Virginia is survived by two sons: Robert (Melanie) Schmitz of Plover and t heir daughter Sarah; and George (Linda) Schmitz of Kaukauna and their chil dren Tenysha (Marcus) Van Den Bogaert and Randel Schmitz; a great-granddau ghter, Kileigh Van Den Bogaert; a sister, Theresa (Charles) Van Eyck of Da rboy; and two sisters-in-law: Catherine Schaefer of California and Mary Sc haefer of Kaukauna. She will also be missed by her feline companion, Tippy -Toe.Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2000, a s on Lawrence in 2003, and by brothers Charles, Ferdinand, and Cecil.The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home in Kimbe rly from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2006.
