Obituary:
Michael C. Seidl Sr., 89, a Glenmore resident, died Saturday afternoon, Oct. 28, 2006. Mike was born March 3, 1917, in Luxemburg, Wis., to the late Henry and Frances Oberhofer Seidl Sr. He married the former Lillian T. Husnik on Oct. 23, 1940, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Stangelville. Lillian preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 2002. Mike was a dairy farmer in the town of Glenmore, and was also an area livestock dealer for many years. He served as a past president of the Hillside Cheese Factory, and after his retirement from farming he was employed by Steve's Cheese. Mike was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glenmore. He was noted for his quick, and witty sense of humor. Mike is survived by his five children, Carol and (Darryl) Derricks, of the Town of Eaton; Joyce and (Gary) Tomcheck, Allouez; Mike Seidl Jr., Denmark; Patsy and (Jim) Potts, Montana; David and (Bev) Seidl, Bellevue; his grandchildren, Denise (Kevin) Leiterman, Dean (Jill) Derricks, Deanna (Bob) Olsen, Danille Derricks, Jill (Patrick) Mc Caughn, Jennifer Tomcheck, Sherry Seidl, Gerred Seidl, Rhonda (Ron) Johnson, Todd (Susan) Seidl, Ryan Seidl, Paula Potts, and her fiance, Jerry Graham, Pamela Potts, Samantha, Chelsea, and Doug Seidl. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Josh and Tori Leiterman, Paige, Blake, Lakin, and Drake Derricks, Julia and Sarah Olsen, Aiden Potts, and Elizabeth Johnson; and by one brother and his sisters-in-law, Leonard and Adeline Seidl, Murial Seidl, Esther (Cletus) Christoff, and June Husnik; his sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and Gerald Tilot; nieces and nephews. In additon to his parents and his wife he was also preceded in death by two brothers, an infant brother, Norman, and Harold Seidl; his father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Wencel and Theresa Husnik; his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Sylvia Vickman, James "Buddy" Husnik, and Melvin Husnik; and a great-grandson, Damien Seidl. Relatives and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at the Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home in Denmark, where there will be a 7 p.m. parish wake service held. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glenmore, with the Reverend Lee J. Kahrs officiating. Entombment will take place in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. The Seidl family would like to express a very special thank you to Harmony, of Denmark, and Hospice for all of their special care, love, and concerns, shown to Mike and the Seidl family for the past 4½ years.
