    b>Gerondale, Marvin A.Marvin A. Gerondale, 81, Ashwaubenon, died Saturday, March 3, 2007, at a local hospital. He was born on Sept. 18, 1925, in Sturgeon Bay to the late Eugene and Rose (Schaefer) Gerondale. Marv overstated his age to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps. during World War II and served in the 3rd Division in the South Pacific at Guam and Iwo Jima. He was proud of his military service but also was careful not to glamorize war. On Sept. 4, 1948, he married the former Gladys Fabry in Oconto Falls; she preceded him in death on Sept. 4, 2005. Marv retired from Wisconsin Public Service after 40 years of employment. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church and Ashwaubenon VFW #10244. He loved to bowl, golf, camp and garden. He was an avid Packers fan and had fond memories of the Ice Bowl. Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Sue Gerondale, Charlene and Dick Powers, Brenda Gerondale, and Michelle and Kelly Collaer, all Green Bay; three grandchildren, Brandon De Mille, Rachel Powers and Mitchell Powers; two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Arlene and John Rowe, Green Bay; Suzanne and Don Aerts, Green Bay, and Orvin (Viola) Fabry, Suring; two sisters-in-law, Vi Gerondale, Green Bay; and Irene (Clayton) Westcott, Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and their beloved dog, Clara-Belle. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, James Bryan; a grandson, Jeremy De Mille; and two brothers, Norman and Darrell "Butch" Gerondale. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will take place at 6 p.m., followed by a service by the VFW. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., Green Bay, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Entombment to take place in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl .com. Marv's family would like to offer special thanks to all of his neighbors, especially Mike Brenwall and Paul Hawley, who conducted CPR; and to the wonderful staff of St. Mary's Hospital third floor for the exceptional care that they provided, especially Jeffrey and Stacy.
