Rose Schindler, 78, Appleton, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center, after a courageous year long battle with a brain tumor. She was born on May 12, 1932, in Appleton, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Liebhauser) Schindler. Rose attended Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School in Appleton and then attended St. Mary High School in Menasha. She was employed by Outagamie County in the Finance Department for many years until her retirement in 1995. After her retirement, her love of gardening led her to take a part-time job at Memorial Florist. Rose was employed there until the time of her illness. She was a caretaker for her mom for many years until her death in 1979 and her brother until his death in 2006. Rose was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton. She was a very active member over the years, belonging to many church organizations and helping out in numerous ways. Rose was an avid baker and was always baking for church events and for her family. Rose's greatest joy in life came from her nieces and nephews and especially her great-nieces and nephews.
