    Obituary:
Veronica Philomena (Bauer) Jochman, age 90, a lifelong resident of the Appleton area, passed away Sunday at the Renaissance, in the presence of her family. She was born on August 24, 1923, in the Town of Greenville, to the late Mary (Becker) & John Bauer and raised on the family farm on Broadway Drive (Cty JJ). She attended the two-room school house at St. Mary's in Greenville and then spent several years working on the family farm and in Appleton at the Tuttle Press.
She met her future husband, Lawrence, at the old Cinderella Ballroom four years before he was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps in 1944. They were married three years later on May 22, 1947. After starting her family in their new home on Richmond St., she enjoyed a fulfilling life as mother and homemaker for her family all her life, baking cookies and brownies and helping out at church and school whenever she could. She was a charter member of the St. Pius X Parish when it started in 1957 and was very active in parish life, including attendance at daily Mass, until age slowed her down about 15 years ago. She was also recognized for her service with the St. Pius X "Sister Mary Fagan, ANG Appreciation Award" in 1984. She enjoyed babysitting for afternoon leagues at Hahn's Bowling Alley for many years after her children were in school all day. She also enjoyed years of collecting coupons, baking and decorating cakes and she crocheted kitchen towels for all of her family, friends and charitable functions. She enjoyed visiting family and seeing all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up and participate in all of their activities.
Veronica will be dearly missed by her four loving children and their spouses: son, Dennis (Dianne) Jochman of Neenah and their children Mark Jochman, Scott (Angie) Jochman & Jillian Jochman and her children Chloe and Benjamin; daughter Mary (Tom) Witczak of Appleton, their children Julie Witczak and Jenny (Tony) Maglio and their children Halley and Drew; son Gerald (MaryJo Pankratz) Jochman of Appleton, and their children Matthew (Melissa) Kuhns, Stefanie Jochman, Madeleine Kuhns, Kristopher (Leslie) Jochman, Erik (Fiancee Vanessa Segovia) and Jeremy (Fiancee Lindsey Pozenel) Jochman; and daughter Kathy (John) McKenna of Arlington Hts., IL and their children Michael, Thomas and James McKenna. She is further survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Edward Jochman, Cyril Jochman, Arlene Conti, Doris VandenHeuvel and Melvin (Doris) Jochman.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lawrence, her parents, a daughter-in-law, Lisa Jochman, and all her sisters and brothers and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2014 at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 W Marquette Street, Appleton, with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Veronica's family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Veronica's name.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at the Renaissance, and the nurses and staff with Ascera Hospice. Your compassion and support at this difficult time has been comforting and greatly appreciated.
