    Mrs. Ira McRann Briggs, 80, died at 1:15 Monday afternoon at her home in Bear Creek. She was born Ada Teal, May 3, 1859, at Weyauwega, where she spent her early life, and was married in July 1890, to Ira Briggs.
    Survivors are the widower; one son, Lloyd; three daughters, Mrs. E. Cannet (sic), Midland, S.D.; Mrs. E. L. McRann, Clintonville; and Mrs. L. Ladrow, Wabeno; twenty-three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Cline-Learman Funeral home, New London, with the Rev. Mr. Forman of the First Baptist church, Hortonville in charge. Burial will be in the Union cemetery, Hortonville.

    Nellie (Mc Rann) Starcheska, age 92, Manawa, died on Friday, January 03, 2014. Nellie was born on January 23, 1921, daughter of the late Edward L. and Irma (Briggs) Mc Rann, on the Mc Rann farm near Bear Creek. She attended Silver Creek Grade School, Clintonville High School and Appleton School of Cosmetology. Nellie worked in New London for Sadie's Beauty Shop and Beth Ann Beauty Shop. On August 30, 1941, she married Arnold Starcheska at Methodist Church, Bear Creek. They lived on the Starcheska farm. She worked 5 years at Bessie's Beauty Shop in Manawa and 5 years at Dee Dee's Beauty Shop. In 1951, Arnie and she moved to Manawa and Nellie bought Dee Dee's Beauty Shop and moved it to the Eastling building. There she operated the shop for 33 years retiring in 1983. Nellie was a member of the Manawa United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and traveling.
    She is survived by a brother, Jim (LaVern) Mc Rann; brother's in-law, Gene Starcheska and Harold Eulrich and also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arnold, sister, Mary Eulrich, sister-in-law, Beulah Starcheska and special cousin Raymond Briggs (who was killed in Korea in 1951).
    Funeral services for Nellie will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Manawa with Rev. Dale Eggert officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Symco.
