Mrs. Fred Speel, 79, a lifelong resident of the Appleton area, died about 4 o'clock this morning in Oshkosh, where she had been residing for the past year. She had been ill for some time. Mrs. Speel was born March 22, 1871 (error), in Outagamie county. She and her husband had operated a dairy farm near Darboy for many years before moving to Appleton about 17 years ago. She was a member of St. Joseph church, Appleton, and of the Christian Mothers. Survivors beside the husband, also in Oshkosh, include one daughter, Mrs. William C. Tesch, Appleton; one son, Lawrence M. Speel, Racine; one sister, Mrs. Peter Heid, Little Chute, and three grandchildren. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home after 7 o'clock tonight. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Saturday and Sunday evenings. Services will be (cut off).

Formerly of 509 North Durkee Street, age 87, died at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 1985, at the St. Paul Home, Kaukauna, following a lengthy illness. She was born April 19, 1898, in the Town of Buchanan, Wisconsin. Isabella was a bookkeeper all of her life, most recently having been employed at Bee Frank Stores. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. Survivors include a brother, Lawrence Speel, Appleton; two nephews; four nieces; and a stepdaughter, Evelyn Kane, Eagle, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, a stepson, and a brother. The complete funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 1985, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father John Zicker officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. PETER ARNOLD CALMES - Peter Arnold Calmes, 97, formerly of 324 1/2 NorthThird Avenue, Wausau, died on Saturday September 4, 2004 at WausauManor. He was born near Mackville in the township of Center, OutagamieCounty, on July 9, 1907, the son of Theodore and Susanna (Ellenbecker)Calmes. His early years were speant near Mackville and in Appleton,Outagamie County, where his father had a saloon and general store andengaged in farming. In 1910 the family moved to a farm in Wuertzburg,township of Johnson in MArathon County. On June 24, 1950, he married AFranzoi at St. John the Baptist Church, Wuertzburg. In 1952 Peter andAda moved to Wausau. In addition to farming hw was acontract carrierfor the Wausau Daily Hearld from 1935, traveling 100 to 125miles a daysix days a week, until his retirement November 1, 1980. During this satime period he also was a Star Route Carrier for the U.S. Post Officeuntil 1970. Peter was a member of the Knights of Colombus Council No.1069 and its bowling team. He attended many tournaments and won severaltrophies. Peter also enjoyed playing pool, dart ball andcards,especially sheepshead and skat. He and Ada enjoyed cruises to theCaribbean and Hawaii, car trips to Alaska, California and many westernstates, and bus tours to Canada and New England. In their later yearsthey spent many winters in Florida and Arizona. Peter loved his familyand was a very devoted and cring son, husband and brother. Peter wasvery grateful to Gud Lang for many years of friendship and weeklyvisits. He was also very grateful for the loving vcare given to him bythe staff at Applegate Terrace and Wausau Manor for several years.Survivors include his sister, Catherine Scherer, Chicago. He is alsosurvived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He waspreceded in death by his beloved wife, Ada, on April 6, 1995; hisparents; three brothers,George Calmes, Joseph Calmes, Norbert, Calmes;six sisters, Barbara Calmes, Josephine Schmirler, Elizabeth Calmes, MarBoser, Cecilia Schmenauer, Amalia Calmes; sisters-in-law, Martha Reis(George) Calmes, Vera Meske (George) Calmes, Mae Lochen (Joseph) Calmes,Bernice Settler (Norbert) Calmes; and brothers-in-law, Anton Schmirler,Charles Scherer, Joseph Boser and Elmerd Schemenauer. Cecilia Schemenauer, 90, Athens died Nov. 10, 1999, at her residence in the town of Frankfort, Marathon County. Funeral services were held Nov. 15, at St. John's Catholic Church inWuertzburt, with Father LenStashek officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
The former Ceilia Calmes was born on Nov. 1 1909, in Appleton, the daughter of Theodore and Susan (Ellenbecker) Calmes. On Sept. 1 1931, Cecilia and Elmerd Schemenauer were united in marriage in a double ceremony with her sister Catherine Calmes and Charles Scherer at St. John's Catholic Church in Wuertzburg.
Cecilia and Elmerd farmed in the Town of Frankfort until retiring and continued to reside on the home farm. She especialy enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing cards with family and friends. She was a long time member of St. John's Parish Council of Catholic Women and the Franklin Home Makers Club.
Surviviors include her husband of 68 years, Elmerd Schemenauer of Athens; three sons, Raymond (Joyce) Schemenauer of Athens, Elmer (Patricia) Schemenauer, Jr. of Jackson and Peter (Marian) Schemenauer; of Athens; two daughters, Susan (Dennis) Nowacki of Athens and Kathleen Zettler of Athens; one brother, Peter Calmes of Wausau; two sisters Catherine Scherer of Chicago, Ill., and Josephine Schmirler of Milwaukee; 28 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Joann Redmann and infant Mary Jane, three brothers and three sisters.
Grandsons served as pallbearers: Craig Schemenauer, Kevin Schemenauer, Tim Schemenauer, Corey Zettler Jerry Redmann and Brian Nowacki.

Helen M. Rutten, age 97, of Kaukauna, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. She was born in the Town of Ellington on February 23, 1912, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephfine (Ellenbecker) Fassbender. Helen was united in marriage to Walter Rutten Sr. on June 12, 1928, at St. Mary's Church, Greenville, who preceded her in death on July 23, 1974. They spent 46 years of marriage together. During their lifetime they owned two bowling allies in Westby and Cashton and they started Rutten's Realty in 1933. Helen continued with the Real Estate business until her retirement in 1992. After retirement, Helen volunteered for many organizations including Holy Cross Parish of which she was a member.
She is survived by her son; Walter Jr. "Buck" (Dorothy) Rutten, seven grandchildren: Steve (Judy), Pat (Karen), Tom (Janice), Jim (Barny), Mark (Joan), Donna (Kevin) Biesterveld and Deb (Bruce) Bolwerk. Helen is further survived by 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Holy Cross Parish, Kaukauna. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the hour of Mass at the church on Saturday. Entombment will be held in Star of Hope Mausoleum.

Sister Dorine Ellenbecker, Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration, 89, died June 13, 2005, at Villa St. Joseph in La Crosse.
Sister Dorine was born to William and Clara (Losselyong) Ellenbecker on Jan. 30, 1916, in Edgar. She entered St. Rose Convent on Aug. 19, 1929, and made profession of vows in 1934. She ministered as an elementary teacher. She served in schools in Iowa and Wisconsin for 51 years, including 14 years at Stanley and eight years in Colby. After leaving the classroom, Sister Dorine ministered as a tutor and parish volunteer for 10 years before retiring to St. Rose Convent in 1995. She made the Villa her home in 2004.
Sister Dorine is survived by her Franciscan community; three sisters, Lucille Shank and Rita Meyer, Wausau, and Verna (Mike) Mroczenski, Edgar; two sisters-in-law, Marie Ellenbecker, Appleton, and Marcie Ellenbecker, Wausau; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Elmer, Jerome, Lawrence and Urban; and one sister, Sister Dorinda Ellenbecker FSPA (1998).
The Rev. Thomas O'Neill, Viterbo University Chaplain, will preside at the Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, in Mary of the Angels Chapel in La Crosse. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in La Crosse. Friends may call after 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, when the body will be met at St. Rose Convent in La Crosse. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Mary of the Angels Chapel in La Crosse.

She was born September 7, 1921 in Edgar, daughter of the late William and Clara (Losselyong) Ellenbecker. On October 5, 1957 she married Jack Shank in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in January 1979.
After graduating high school, Lucille moved to Milwaukee where she worked at St. Michael Hospital as the director of Laundry for 21 years. In 1992, she moved to Wausau and had resided here since. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid fan of the Packers and Brewers.
Survivors include two sisters, Rita Meyer, Wausau and Verna (Mike) Mroczenski, Edgar; sister-in-law, Marcie Ellenbecker, Wausau and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Jack, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sister Dorine Ellenbecker and Sister Dorinda Ellenbecker, and three brothers, Jerry, Elmer and Urban Ellenbecker.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Gerald Pehler O.F.M. Cap. will preside. Bernice Ulman Randerson, 94, of Appleton passed away peacefully on March 31, 2017 at her daughter's home in Las Vegas, Nevada surrounded by her family. Bernice was born March 21, 1923 in the town of Grand Chute, the second child of George and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Sturm. She was united in marriage to Clifford Ulman on September 30, 1944. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1982.
Bernice was a homemaker and helped with the family business. She loved her Lord and she loved life. She lived a full life with many hobbies and interests including fishing, hunting, golf and playing cards. She was an excellent cook specializing in wild game and the best rhubarb pie. She also loved to sew.
She is survived by her children Judith (Gene) Allaire-Pittz, Clifford Jr (Dee) Ulman, Dennis (Betty) Ulman and Louis (Pat) Ulman; grandchildren Laura (Michael) Schober, Dawn (Jon) VanDort, David (Alice) Ulman, Sara (Travis Riggles) Ulman, Andrew Ulman and Derek Dachlet; 6 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Linda Randerson.
She spent the last 10 winters in Las Vegas with her loving daughter, Judith. She enjoyed cruises and going to the casinos.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; her parents; and siblings Rita Pritzl, Lorraine Ulman, Helen Wittman and Ted Sturm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas More in Appleton with visitation beginning at 9:30 until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery next to her husband, Clifford.

Rita Mary Pritzl, 91, of Appleton, died Monday July 11, 2016 at Prairie Homes House of Faith, Menasha. She was born in Appleton on November 28, 1924, daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Sturm. Rita was united in marriage to Richard J. Pritzl on November 28, 1944 in Appleton. Richard preceded her in death on February 5, 2008.
Rita was an exceptionally hard worker, early in her life as a farm hand, through marriage and maintaining a household, raising nine children, and working outside the home. She played an integral role in her husband's business as well. Rita enjoyed crafts, crocheting, sewing and making countless beautiful gifts for her children. Her hands were never idle. Rita will be deeply missed by her family.
Rita is survived by her nine children: daughter, Jean (James) Schricker, and her children: Christopher (Kathleen), Constance (George), Curt, and Cynthia (Blaine); son, Lee (Margaret), and his children: Samuel, and Sarah (Ben); daughter, Linda (William) Jarzombeck, and her children: Jeffrey (Rachel), Philip (Beth), and Jennifer; daughter, Eileen (Gary) Van Boxtel, and her children: Andrew (Kendra), and Joseph (Rebecca); daughter, Diane (Vincent) Neumann, and her children: Jason (Stacy), Peter (Heather), Rachel (Michael), and Matthew (Kate); son, James (Jeanne), and his children: Benjamin (Lane), and Lucas (Alissa); daughter, Theresa (Ralph) Bates; son, William (Jane), and his children: Elizabeth, and Shelly (Michael); and daughter, Lisa (Charles) Cook. Theodore C. Sturm "Teddy," 82, Appleton, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family Friday, Sept. 4, 2009. He was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Appleton, to the late George and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Sturm. Ted served in the United States Army during World War II. Ted married Frances Mott on Sept. 13, 1952, and she preceded him in death in 1990. He owned and operated Sturm Body Shop for 50 years. Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with the big blue bus, golfing and bowling.

Helen Wittman, 83, of Appleton, was born to eternal life Sunday, November 10, 2013, with her loving family at her side.
Helen was born December 15, 1929, in Appleton, the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Sturm. She was united in marriage to Clarence Wittman on August 28, 1948, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. Clarence preceded her in death on December 4, 1990. Helen was employed as a waitress in many area restaurants prior to retiring. The Wittmans were charter members of St. Pius X Catholic Church and Helen was a member of their Christian Mothers and belonged to a Homemakers' Group.
Helen was a lover of life and the Lord. She made the best dumplings and pumpkin pie. She'll "put-near have enough" to share every time. She was always up to going fishing for whatever was biting and always up for cards no matter what the game-sheepshead, hand and foot, nerts, or her favorite, bridge. She'd probably call you a "sheeny" before it's all over and you will get a "flat hinder" from playing so long. But when it was all said and done, she'd brag on how "that was really great!"
Survivors include her children: Bonnie (Mark) Hawley, Dan (significant other, Paula) Wittman, and Butch (Donna) Wittman; her grandchildren: Terri Jo (Lonnie) Norrod, Wayman Wittman, Luke (Christy) Hawley, Laura (Paul) Writt, Eric (Wendy), Shawn (Tori), and Joe (Sarah); her great grandchildren: Dillon, Cali, Carter, Gavin, Christian, Emma, Lydia, Lainey, and Layton; sisters and brothers: Bernice Randerson, Rita Pritzl, George (Mary) Sturm, Al Sturm, Elaine Kurey, Pat (Glen) Griesbach, and Cyril "Cy" Sturm; sisters-in-laws: Loretta Arnold, and Ida Mae "Tootie" Wittman; a brother-in-law, Leon Ulman; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Ulman, a brother, Ted Sturm; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Frances Sturm, Marilyn Sturm, LeRoy Kurey, Cliff Ulman, Rich Pritzl, Wilmer "Bill" Arnold, and Richard Wittman.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with Fr. William Van Dynhoven officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home, where a parish vigil service will take place at 7:45 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of mass at St. Pius Parish. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.

Jerome Huss, age 92 of Kaukauna, died at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin on Monday, January 30, 2017. Jerry was born in Kaukauna on February 20, 1924, son of the late George and Catherine (DeCoster) Huss. He attended Holy Cross School in Kaukauna and later married Dolores Hamilton on October 10, 1946 at Holy Cross. The couple celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2016. Jerry drove bus for Fox River Lines, and from 1961 until 1978, he and Dee owned and operated Jerry and Dee's Tavern. After retiring, he returned to Valley Transit for a time. Jerry was a very busy man about town. He was the past president of the Kaukauna AARP Chapter and was the first president of the Heart of the Valley Golden K Kiwanis Club, where he was presented the George Hixon Award for outstanding service.
Jerry served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1943 until 1946. He was stationed in Ludlow, England with the 123rd General Hospital. His duty was to go to the English Channel and meet the boats bringing wounded soldiers from France and Germany who needed medical care. He was currently a member and past commander of American Legion Post 41 and VFW Post 3319. He also was the Outagamie Commander, 9th District Vice Commander, Chef de Gare of the 40 and 8, and was past president of Branch 64 of the Catholic Knights. He also served as president of four other local organizations.
Jerry will be remembered as a generous and loving man who always had a smile on his face. He loved his grandchildren so much - they each brought special joy to his life. He also enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, and some good polka music.
He is survived by his wife: Dolores Huss of Kaukauna; five children: Mike (Jill) Huss of Kaukauna; Thomas (Pam) Huss of Hortonville; Tony (Cindy) Huss of Kaukauna; and Matt (Linda) Huss of Enid, Oklahoma. There are ten grandchildren: Craig (Nickie) Huss, Chad (Laura) Huss, Angela (Matthew) Buechel, Kristy Huss, Jacqueline (Christopher) Lawrence, Ben (Heather) Huss, Adam (Rachel) Huss, Nicole (Mike) Tessler, Amber Huss, and Kevin (Brittney) Huss. There are also fourteen great-grandchildren as well as three brothers: Floyd (Arlene) Huss, Kenneth (Rosie) Huss, and George Huss; a daughter-in-law: Robbie Huss of Two Rivers; and a brother-in-law: John Schmidt of Dundas. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, sons Alan and Bruce Huss, four brothers: Lawrence (Agnes) Huss, Sylvester (Ethel) Huss, Robert (Mildred) Huss, and Cleon (Marion) Huss; a sister: Nancy Schmidt; and a sister-in-law: Rosie Huss.
The funeral liturgy for Jerry will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Full military honors will follow the service at the church. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue in Kaukauna, and again Friday morning at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Cleon P. "Hussy" Huss, Little Chute, age 83, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 3, 1928, in Kaukauna, to the late George and Catherine (De Coster) Huss. Cleon married Marian Metz on September 10, 1949. He was part owner of Van Zeeland Implement-Kaukauna.

Nancy M. Schmidt, Kaukauna, age 78, passed away peacefully with her family and close friend at her side, on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at home after living with leukemia for a few years. She was born August 26, 1936, daughter of the late George Sr. and Katherine (DeCoster) Huss, the youngest in the family with eight older brothers. Nancy graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1954. In August 1955 she married John B. Schmidt at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. They farmed all their married life in the Town of Woodville, retiring in the same area. Nancy was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown.
She is survived by her husband, John and 2 daughters, 5 sons and 13 grandchildren: Cynthia (John) Hill and their daughter, Jacquelyn; Beth (Tom) Feuerstein and their daughter, Rachel and son, Ryan; Brian (Pamela) Schmidt and their sons, Nathan and Adam and daughter, Mikayla; Bruce (Colleen) and their sons, Kyle and Matthew; Craig; Corey (Kathleen) and their sons, Derek, Tyler and Logan; Chad (Terri) and their daughters, Ava and Mackenzie. Nancy is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerry (Dee) Huss, Marion Huss, Floyd (Arlene) Huss, George (Rosie) Huss, and Ken (Rosie) Huss. Josephine "Jo" Luben, age 90, passed away on November 20, 2012 at her home. She was born in Kaukauna on March 21st, 1922 to the late Nickolas and Katherine (Huss) DeCoster. Jo and her husband Ed owned and operated Luben Jewelry Store for over 50 years. Jo was a very active member of the Elks Club, Christ Child Society, Dance Club, and St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She enjoyed hosting elaborate dinner parties for her friends and family. There was always a lot of fun when Jo, her good friend Bette Milhaupt and the rest of the snoop sisters got together.
She will be sadly missed by her children: John (Betsy) Moder, Luke (Sue) Moder, Lynn Stadler, Ed (Julia) Luben, and Patty Firkus; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; her sister Bette Ives; sisters in law Marcella "Red" DeCoster and Gladys Emons. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ed Luben; two daughters: Sharon Moder and Cynthia Luben; daughter in law Janice Moder; 3 sisters: Fran Vils, Marie Driessen, and Helen Schleinz; and a brother, William "Bud" DeCoster.
As per Jo's wishes, a private prayer service was held by her family. Inurnment will take place at Community Lutheran Cemetery, Freedom.

William "Bud" W. deCoster, 83, New Holstein died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at his home.
He was born Jan. 5, 1926, in Kaukauna, a son of the late Nicholas and Catharine (Huss) deCoster. Bud attended Holy Cross Grade School in Kaukauna and Kaukauna High School. He served in the Army Air-Corps in the European Theatre at the later part of Word War II from 1945 to 1947.
On June 9, 1945, he married Marcella "Red" Wink in Forest Junction. Bud had previously worked at Kaukauna Floral and in 1948, he and his wife, Red moved to New Holstein and began building their floral business known as New Holstein Floral. Bud loved working with flowers and plants. He nurtured many seedlings into plants and his fruits of his labor were sold not only to area costumers but to Milwaukee distributors and other area businesses. Many spectators that attended the annual New Holstein Firemen's Parade had seen the various floats that Bud had entered; most notably the Iwo Jima memorial float. The couple continued their business until retiring in 2002. In addition, he drove school bus for the New Holstein School District for many years.
Bud was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in New Holstein and a member of the New Holstein American Legion Post 124.
Survivors include his wife, Red deCoster, New Holstein; a son, Jef (Sharon) deCoster, New Holstein; a daughter-in-law, Christine deCoster, New Holstein; his sisters, Frances Vils, Kaukauna; Josephine "Jo" Luben, Appleton; and Betty Ives, Oconto; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earl Driessen, Little Chute; Willmer "Willie" Wink, Appleton; Lloyd (Germaine) Wink, Luxemburg; Jerry (Lois) Wink, New Holstein; and Dean (Gertie) Wink, Appleton; La Verne Ott, Brillion; and Dorothy (Lloyd) Wolf, Two Rivers. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, dear neighbors and good friends.

Hollandtown Leroy G. VandeWettering, age 80, entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 31, 2011. He was born on December 27, 1930, in the town of Holland, son of the late William and Martha (Huss) VandeWettering. Leroy farmed in partnership with his brother in the town of Holland. He was proud to be part of the third generation, overseeing the next generation on the family farm. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, going "north," and was always within reach of a deck of cards. Paul, Sara, Maria, Sean, Josh, Luke, and Tyler thank him for being that "special" Uncle.
Survivors include his brother, Tim (Dorothy) VandeWettering; two sisters: Dorothy Coppus and Judy (Carl) Bowers; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Wells. Leroy is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters and brothers-in-law: Rosella (Roman) Kolbe, Mary Wells, and Bernard Coppus.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Leroy will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish @ ST. FRANCIS CHURCH in Hollandtown with Fr. Jerry Pastors celebrating. Roland "Rollie" Huss, Kaukauna, 80, passed away Thursday Feb. 5, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1928, in Kaukauna to the late Peter and Henrietta (Vande Wettering) Huss. Rollie was united in marriage to Donna Rogers on Sept. 27, 1958. He was owner/operator of Kaukauna Drywall for 46 years. Rollie was an avid fan and season ticket holder since 1950 of the Green Bay Packers. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of American Legion Post #258 in Little Chute.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna, seven children: Linda (Tom) Pitt, Kaukauna; Mark Huss, Kaukauna; Patricia Tsichlis, Orlando, FL; Greg (Laura) Huss, Combined Locks; Barb Huss, Mont Clair, NJ; Sandra (Aaron) Davis, Phoenix; and Kelly Huss, Little Chute; five grandchildren, Eric, Allison and Austin Pitt, and Christopher and Sarah Huss; one brother, Gary (Kay) Huss, Greenleaf; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Huss and Jean Huss; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Joan Ver Voort, Kaukauna; Mary (Marv) Van Groll, Little Chute; numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan M. Ver Voort, 80, of Kaukauna, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2011 at Cherry Meadows. Joan was born on May 11, 1931 in Kaukauna to Peter and Henrietta (VandeWettering) Huss. She married George Ver Voort on May 11, 1950. Joan loved crafts and playing canasta. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and she always looked forward to their visits. Joan was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Joan is survived by her two daughters; Bonnie Lamers of Kaukauna, and Sue (William) Barta of Kaukauna, six grandchildren: Kayla and Nicholas Lamers and Amy, Katie, Rachel and Ryan Barta. She is further survived by a sister, Mary Van Groll, a brother, Gary (Kay) Huss, sisters-in-law: Jean Huss, Donna Huss and Shirley Huss, a very special friend Jane George, her faithful dog Ernie, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, a son Ronald, a son-in-law, Richard Lamers, brothers, Roland, Cletus, Cyril, Clayton and Peter.

Marvin F. Huss, Kaukauna, age 77, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Thursday, August 6, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on the family farm in Freedom on April 18, 1938 to the late Oscar and Mayme (Van Gompel) Huss. Marv married Audrey Baer on April 8, 1961 at St. Mary's Parish in Hilbert. He retired from Thilmany Pulp and Paper, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club, in April of 2000 after 42 years of service. Marv was an avid outdoorsman, hunting with the boys from Freedom. He also enjoyed yardwork and anything else that took him outside. Marv could be found tinkering with small engines and doing puzzles and followed the Packers and Brewers.
Marv was a proud grandpa and loved to share news of his grandkids with family, friends and anyone else he happened to run into.
Marv is survived by his wife of 54 years, Audrey; daughters: Debra (Wayne) Frederickson of Kaukauna and Dawn (John) Wulterkens of Darboy; grandchildren: Erica and Brandon (special friend Katelynn) Frederickson and Aubrey and Marissa (special friend Jake) Wulterkens; and siblings: Donald (Elaine) Huss, Ardena (Arthur) Retzlaff and Thomas (Susan) Huss. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Marv was preceded in death by his infant sister Linda Lou; Audrey's parents Math and Madella Baer; and niece and Godchild Jennifer Retzlaff.
Visitation will be held Wednesday August 12, 2015 at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna) beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 4:30 p.m. The Rev. Thomas Pomeroy will officiate. Ronald J. Huss, 75, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Ron was born on September 23, 1935, in Kaukauna, to the late Frank and Marcella (Kieffe) Huss. He married Audrey Evers, lifetime caregiver and best friend, on September 26, 1956, in Little Chute. Ron was a very caring, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Berlin Crisis. Ron was involved in the excavation business for over 50 years. In 1971, he founded Ron Huss Excavating (RHE). Recently, he proudly sold the business to his son, Ric, who operates it to this day as Ric Huss Excavating.
Ron was an avid Packers and Brewers fan, a member of the Kaukauna High School Quarterback Club, a former member of the Holy Cross Athletic Association, the Oilaires Investment Club and the Little Chute American Legion. He enjoyed bowling and snowmobiling, but fully enjoyed the time spent with family and friends, especially the Hietpas family, at his beloved cottage on Warrington Lake. Most memorable were cookouts and Happy Hour pontoon cruises on the lake, where there was much laughter and fun. Ron enjoyed putzing in the woods and four-wheeling.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Audrey; his children, Ric (Kathy) Huss and their children, Eric, Emily and Jenny; Lee (Molly) Huss and their children, Sam and Hanna; Lory (John Rennicke) Huss and their children, Kasey, Kelly and Marcus; and Dyan (John Kickland) and their children, Alexa and Mason; his brother, Dan (Patt) Huss. He is further survived by Audrey's sisters, Mardie (Jim) Smith, Carol (Whitey) Van Asten, Shirley (Jerry) Broeren, Dorthy Reider, LaVern Kaminski, Ev Gambsky; her brother, Orv (Shirley) Evers; and her sister-in-law, Helen Evers. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive Ron.
She was preceded in death by Audrey's brother, Joe Evers; and her sisters, Marion (Joe) Joosten, Carl Reider, Norb Kaminski and Faye Gambsky.
The Funeral Liturgy will be at Noon on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
