    Carlton W. Laird On January 29, 2018, Carlton W. Laird died from influenza in Staunton, Illinois. Carlton was born on December 22, 1917 to William John Laird and Jessie A. Ham Laird, near Shiocton, WI. Carlton graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1942. He married Mildred M. Blair on June 14 1946. They had 2 sons, Michael W. Laird and Carlton S. Laird, and 3 grandchildren. After Mildred died in 1990, Carlton lived for 20 years in loving partnership with Lucy Buess McAneny, until she died.
    Per his wishes, there was no funeral or burial. He donated his body to Washington University Medical School to further medical education and research.
