Obituary:
Marlin "Gus" Paul, age 90, Bear Creek, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2014. He was born on April 14, 1924, in Bear Creek, son of the late Irvin and Clarice (Reinert) Paul. During his working years Gus farmed on the family farm. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He enjoyed playing cards, driving tractor and watching all sports.
Marlin is survived by his son Robert Paul (special friend Ellen), Bear Creek; stepson, Gary (Linda) Knapp, their children, Terry and Sara Shiocton; a sister, Carol (James) Heiser, Atlanta, GA and a brother, Roger (Karen) Paul, New London. He is further survived a sister in-law, Beatrice Paul, Bear Creek and by many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carmen (2010), a brother Norman, and a sister, Margaret Pues.
Funeral services for Gus will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton with Rev. Greg Watling officiating. Burial will be in the Shiocton-Bovina Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Pine Manor for the care and concern they gave to Gus.
