    LaVonne M. Abba, age 87 of Neenah, passed away on Wednesday October 11, 2017 at Oak Park Place in Menasha. LaVonne was born on May 13, 1930 in Appleton, daughter of the late Wilbur and Ella (Berner) Laux. She married Lawrence Abba on October 3, 1953 and had just celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary.
    LaVonne worked for Kimberly Clark for 26 years. After retirement she played with the Neenah Community Band and also worked as a volunteer at Theda Clark Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Neenah. LaVonne had a special affection for all animals and especially her cats and her Son's Siberian Huskies. She also enjoyed shopping and playing cards with friends and family. Despite enjoying sheepshead and other card games, she was always up for a game of Old Maid. As you can guess, she always lost…
    LaVonne is survived by her Husband Larry; Her Son Rod and Daughter In-Law Claudia and her Grandson Andres.
    Funeral services for LaVonne will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
    In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for area Humane Societies.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Theda Care At Home, Hospice and Home Care (Team 4), as well as Valley VNA Home Care and the staff and caregivers at Oak Park Place. All of the wonderful and excellent care providers to LaVonne and Larry went above and beyond their typical duties to provide the best care possible.

    Leon Ashauer, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.
    The funeral liturgy for Leon will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

    Kaukauna - Anna Marie, 6-months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Antone Ashauer of New London, formerly of Kaukauna, died suddenly at

    Kaukauna - Jack Ashauer, age 82 of Kaukauna, passed away early on Sunday morning, July 15, 2018. Jack was born in Appleton on March 19, 1936, son of the late Anton and Lucille (Laux) Ashauer. He attended Holy Cross School and was a graduate of the Kaukauna High School. In October of 1963, he married Ione Thompson in a ceremony at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
    As a young man, he began helping his father in the family business, Ashauer Distributors, a well-known beer distributor in Kaukauna, which later became known as LBJ Distributors in Little Chute. He worked in the family business most of his life, and for a time, served his country as a member of the United States Army. Jack retired in 1996.
    He was a longtime and faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Kaukauna Electric City Post #3119 of the VFW, and the Kaukauna Athletic Club. Jack was an avid sports fan and movie buff who also enjoyed travel, playing cards, taking an occasional "ride", spending time with family and friends at Shawano Lake, and following the sporting activities of his grandchildren.
    Jack is survived by his loving wife: Ione Ashauer; her mother: Verna Josie; four children: Tony (Kelly) Ashauer and their children Kyle, Sam, Lauren, and Rachel; Mark (Kay) Ashauer and their children Miranda and Maxwell; Ann (Bill) Heilman and their children Jonathan and Rebecca; and Jenny (Randy) Roers and their children Madison and Alex. Jack also leaves behind two brothers: Gene (Margaret) Ashauer and Tom (Kathy) Ashauer; four in-laws: VerLea (Bob) Doro, Loretta (Joe) Jansen, Vern (Joyce) Josie, and Shirley (Jeff) Baken; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents: his in-laws: Sam and Ruby Thompson and Vernon Josie, brothers Leon (Carol) Ashauer, James (Carol) Ashauer, and Carol Jansen; and a sister-in-law: Phyllis (Ron) Genske.
    The funeral liturgy for Jack will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Donald Everts and Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.     Carol A. Jansen, age 73, of Kaukauna, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born on January 27, 1941, in Appleton, the daughter of the late Anton and Lucille (Laux) Ashauer. Carol graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1959. She was employed as a CNA at St. Paul Elder Services for 18 years. Carol was a member of St. Katharine Drexel - St. Aloysius Church. Cross-stitching, and watching mystery and old movies were some of her interests. Many people knew Carol by her infectious laugh and her outgoing personality.
    She will be missed by her children: Jennifer (Ron) Tennessen of DePere, Jeff (Jamie) Jansen of Kaukauna, and Joy (Michael) Jansen-Phillips of Milwaukee; grandchildren: Prestin and Spencer Tennessen; brothers: Eugene "Gene" (Margaret), John "Jack" (Ione), and Thomas "Tom" (Kathy) Ashauer, all of Kaukauna. Carol is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Ashauer; brothers, Leon "Lee" (Carol) and James "Jim" (Carol) Ashauer; and a granddaughter, Alexandria "Crash" Jansen.
    The funeral liturgy for Carol will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, February 24, 2014 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL - ST. ALOYSIUS CHURCH, 2401 Main Avenue in Kaukauna. Fr. Jerry Pastors will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of mass.

    Donald H. Laux, age 84, of Appleton, died on Sunday, January 31, 2016, at his home. Don was born on March 3, 1931, to the late Herbert and Anna (Wollersheim) Laux. He lived in Appleton his whole life. Don attended St. Norbert College, graduating in 1953 with a degree in physics. He served in the U.S. Army (1953 - 1955) at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Don had a successful career at Marathon, American Can, and Domino Amjet working in research and development.
    Don liked to golf and play sheephead. He was involved at St. Bernard Catholic Church as a server, usher, and lector. Most of all, he loved raising his family and leaves them with many memories of road trips, holidays, and laughter.
    Don was blessed with his loving wife of 58 years, Sylvia (Godschalx); four children: Linda (Mark) Slater, Patricia (Doug) Westhoven, Sara (Cal) Akin, and Daniel Laux; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
    Don was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter Sara Slater, his parents, and brother, Richard Smith.
    A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, February 5, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton, with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends may visit at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fox Valley Warming Shelter in Appleton.
