    A shower for Miss Stella Dohr, bride-to-be, was given by Miss Sparks and Miss Courtney at the Dormitory on Thursday evening, May 13. The guests were the girls who live at the Dormitory and the members of the Lambda Chi Society, of which Miss Dohr is also a member. What will be the occupation of my future husband? Where will we go for our honeymoon? Were some of the questions which were answered for all the girls. Some very interesting information about "Henry" was also revealed. She married Dr. Alois Bachhuber on Oc tober 10, 1936.He preceded her in death on October 23, 1982. She was also preceded in dea th by her brothers; Oscar, Al and Otto Dohr and her sisters; Stella Liethe n, Margaret O’Brien and Elizabeth Barnum.     Ruth M. Stier, 94, Menasha, passed away on April 29, 2010, at Brewster Village. She was born Feb. 13, 1916, daughter of the late Gerhard and Margaret (Mauer) Kamps. On June 14, 1938, she was united in marriage to Kenneth J. Stier. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1984.
    Ruth was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Menasha. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, cribbage and spending time with her family.
    Ruth is survived by her children, Ted (Yolanda), San Diego; Gretchen (Don) Landskron, Las Vegas; Jim (Joyce), Neenah; five grandchildren, Susan (Jeff) Hopp, Stefanie (Don) Larson, Ted (Charlotte) Stier, Brett and Andrea Stier; two great-grandchildren, Kamps and Connor Larson; sister, Ethel O'Brien; and a brother, John "Jake" Kamps. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Ruth was also preceded in death by her son, Kenneth, Jr.; four brothers, Bob, Bill, Frank "Frozz" and Paul "Mick"; three sisters, Louise "Susie" Walters, Betty Schmidt and Margaret "Muggie" Marx; and special friend, Pat Fischer.
    A Funeral Mass for Ruth will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 324 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha, with Fr. Larry Canavera officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Ruth will be laid to rest at St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah.

    Ethel M. "Lolly" O'Brien, age 96, of Neenah passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Theda Clark Medical Center with her family at her side. She was born on September 18, 1917 in Appleton, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Gerhard and Margaret (Mauer) Kamps. She was a graduate of Appleton High School. In November of 1939 she married Robert O'Brien at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Menasha. The marriage was blessed with four sons, and nearly 40 years before Robert preceded her in death on September 10, 1979. Lolly was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was a fun-loving woman with a tremendous sense of humor. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing, walking, swimming, and playing cribbage. Her family will miss her deep love, her unconditional support, and her famous lemon meringue pie.

John was born in 1924 in Appleton, son of the late Gebhard and Margaret (Maurer) Kamps. He was very proud of his life long career as an Accountant and enjoyed a game of golf with family and friends. He married Mary Catherine McCarthy in Pittsburgh, PA in 1946. John was a graduate of Appleton West High School, and of the Robert Morris College - Accounting School in Pittsburgh, PA. He has an Honorable Discharge from the US Army/Air Force after serving active overseas duty in South East Asia, 1943 - 1946.

Joan attended Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School in A ppleton. Joan is survived by several cousins. After her parents passed awa y, she lived with her sisters, Florence and Ethel Dohr, who both preced ed her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Florence Do hr.     Mary Catherine Drechsler, 79, passed away on November 17, 2016 at St. Paul's Home. She was born August, 4, 1937 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Catherine (Dohr) Bachhuber and Dr. Alois Martin Bachhuber. She attended Holy Cross Elementary, Kaukauna High School and Alverno College where she majored in Nursing. After graduation, she worked at Kaukauna Hospital and continued at the emergency room of St. Elizabeth Hospital where she provided compassionate care for over 25 years. She was an active volunteer with King's Daughters, Homeless Connection and Loaves and Fishes food pantry.
    Survivors include her husband Henry of 56 years and children: Tim of Kaukauna, Tom (Mary Ellen) of Cranford, NJ; Mark (Christine) of Naperville, IL; Peter (LeeEllen) of Cincinnati, OH; Paul (Jennifer) of Mequon, WI; Sarah and Dan Wanish of Madison, WI and Andrew Drechsler and Beth Bangert of Washington, DC. Mary was very proud of her 14 grandchildren: Michael, Alexandra, Gabriel, Arianna, Nicolas, Lina, Zoe, Elliot, Anna, Jack, Miles and Ellis Drechsler. Katia and Danika Wanish.     He was born on October 9,1943, in Appleton, Wisconsin, to Catherine Elizabeth (Dohr) Bachhuber and Dr Alois Martin Bachhuber. Peter was the 4th of 6 children. He attended Holy Cross Elementary and Kaukauna High School, where he played guard for the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts and was co captain his senior year. He graduated in 1961 and attended St Norbert's College; majored in Economics, a member of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity, and ROTC. After graduation in 1965 he completed his military obligation, serving 2 years as an MP in South Korea. Following his service he went to graduate school at the American Institute of Foreign Trade (Thunderbird) in Glendale, Arizona. Upon graduation, he was hired by Firestone Tire and Rubber in the International Division.
    Following stints in Sweden, England, and Italy he came back to the home office in Akron, Ohio in 1975. On Friday, February 13, 1976, Pete went for a drink with friends and met his future wife, Carol. Their first date was Valentine's Day and they married September 24, 1977. A few days later Peter left for a new job in Bari, Italy as Director of Sales. In 1979, they returned to the states and settled in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. The next move was to Kansas City in 1984, where he bought Shoring & Supply in 1989. The company grew to include stores in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, and California. Most of the stores were sold in 1999 and Pete became semi retired.
    Pete loved to hunt and fish, which began as a child with his Dad, brothers, and uncles in Wisconsin. He had fond memories of Muskie fishing with his Dad. When he moved to Missouri he leased land near Mound City for deer, geese, and duck hunting. Every weekend from September to December Pete was getting things ready to hunt or hunting.
    Another childhood enthusiasm was sports, playing and watching. He was a life long Green Bay Packer fan and had worked at the stadium in his youth just to see the games. He especially enjoyed attending games there the last couple of years with his brother, Paul. When the Packers weren't playing, he followed college sports as well.
    Skiing was another of his passions. It started in Wisconsin and grew when he lived in Europe and skied the Alps. After returning to the states he regularly skied in Colorado with friends and family. Every year he took his children skiing in Winter Park, Colorado and bought a log home near Winter Park when he retired. He always said, " We came for the winters but stayed for the summers." He learned to fly fish and enjoyed watching the wildlife.
    Pete and Carol loved to travel. They returned to Italy as frequently as possible. It always felt like home as Peter had lived there for 6 years and they spent the first years of their marriage there.
    Peter was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan Sachs (Dale). He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Ann Nicole of Kansas City; son, Fredrick (Michael Carr) of Denver, Colorado; and daughter, Alexandra of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Mary Drechsler (Hank), Kaukauna, Wisconsin; brother, Nicholas Bachhuber (Janet), Spokane, Washington; sister, Ann Bill (Jim), Williamsburg, Virginia; and brother, Paul Bachhuber (Patti), Green Bay, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.
    In lieu of flowers donations may be made Missouri Ducks Unlimited or the Rocky Mountain Conservancy.

    Susan M. Sachs, age 60, of Appleton, passed away Monday evening, October 20, 2008, following a short illness. She was born April 6, 1948, to the late Dr. Alois and Catherine (Dohr) Bachhuber, in Kaukauna and had been an Appleton resident since 1972. Susan graduated from Kaukauna High School and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She was a lifetime teacher and enjoyed children and they enjoyed her. Susan loved cooking for family and friends, camping and watching the Packers.
    Susan is survived by her husband, Dale W. Sachs, to whom she had been married for 35 years; her daughter, Katherine Sachs, Appleton; five sisters and brothers: Mary (Hank) Drechsler, Kaukauna; Dr. Nic (Janet) Bachhuber, Spokane, WA; Ann (Jim) Bill, Williamsburg, VA; Peter (Carol) Bachhuber, Kansas City, MO; Paul (Patti) Bachhuber, Green Bay; her mother-in-law, Mildred (Sachs) Vandenberg, Kaukauna; six brothers and sisters-in-law: Daniel (Vivian) Sachs, New London; Jeanne (Daniel) Maes, Reeds Spring, MO; Doug (Ellyn) Sachs, Neenah; Joyce (Stan) Darling, Winneconne; Joanne (Doug) Young, South Charleston, WV; Chuck (Kay) Sachs, Shorewood, WI; many nieces and nephews.

She was a Certified Clinical Research Associate for Roche. Barb was a faithful member of St. Rose Catholic Church, and she was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
    Barb is survived by her son, Stefan R. (Cathy) Luebke; daughter, Rebecca L. (Brian) Geffe; grandchildren, Ava and Drew Geffe; sister, Margaret "Peg" E. Pitzen; brother, Paul R.     Thomas R. Marx, age 71 of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, March 05, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on December 2, 1941 in Appleton, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Kamps) Marx. On October 15, 1971 he was united in marriage to Carol Schultz in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on September 12, 2004. Thomas was a retired Iron Worker and member of the Local 8 Union. In his younger years he was an avid skydiver and stock car racer. In more recent years, he played on a pool league and enjoyed spending time at The Lighthouse. Tom was a jack of all trades and took pleasure in helping neighbors and friends with their household projects.
    Thomas is survived by: his son, Craig (Christina) Marx of Oshkosh; and his daughter, Gretchen (Travis) Burns of Winneconne. He is further survived by his beloved 6 grandchildren whom he gave special nicknames to from the day they were born, Samantha "Roy Boy", Grace "Amy Moses" and Alex "Hans" Marx, Bryce "Clem", Callie "Suzy" and Evelynn "Bridget" Burns. Also surviving are his 2 brothers, Bob (Sandy) Marx of Shawano and Jack Marx of Appleton.
    A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Lighthouse Bar & Grill in Shawano from 1-5pm. The Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.

"Muggs" Marx. Jack proudly served his country as a member of the 3rd and 26th battalion of the Marines in Vietnam from 1966-1967.
    He is survived by his brother Bob (Sandy) Marx; nephews, Dan (Julie) Marx, Greg Marx, Craig (Tina) Marx; niece Gretchen (Travis) Burns, and their children. He is further survived by his special friend Teri Stecker.
    Jack was preceded in death by his parents John and Margaret, brother Tom "TR", sister-in-law Carol, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
    Jack will miss his special friends; Mike DeVries, Jim Winske, Barry Emmer, Andy Grignon, Bob, Jim and Mike Siddall.
    Jack wishes to extend a thank you to the staff and friends at the King Home for Veterans and the Thedacare home hospice care unit in Appleton.

    Christine "Chrissy" Mueller, age 64, of Appleton, was taken to Heaven to be with Jesus, on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. She was born on June 24, 1947, in Pittsburg, PA, the daughter of John and Mary Catherine(McCarthy) Kamps. At age 13, Christine entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame Convent and remained there for six years. On December 11, 1969, Christine married Steven Mueller at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Appleton. She worked for Dave Kamps Accounting Service for 13 years. As she battled cancer, Steve did many sweet acts of charity which touched Christine deeply.
    Christine was an artist and poet, as well as a flamboyant storyteller with an infectious laugh. She played guitar, piano, flute and viola. Christine also loved to swim, lift weights, bike and walk in the woods. Some of her happiest hours were spent sitting by their pond meditating and praying.
    Christine was currently a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in New London, where she worshipped and attended prayer groups and bible studies. Before joining her St. John's family, Christine was a member of the Assembly of God Church where she was involved with the worship team and worship band. She visited shut-ins, and helped with chapel services for several nursing homes. She was also a member of Women's Aglow and Fox Valley Jail Ministry. Christine loved her St. John's family deeply and loved being a witness for Jesus.
    Christine is survived by her husband, Steven; her two sons, whom she loved and prayed for daily, Max (Darcie); LaCrescent, MN and Daniel (Alissa), Kaukauna; her father, John Kamps, Appleton; four brothers, William Kamps, Appleton; Timothy (Vicki) Richmond, IN; David(Kathleen)Kamps, Appleton; and Jeffrey(Bonnie)Kamps, DePere; three sisters, Gerry (Dave) Traczyk, Hurley, WI; Mary (Neil)Hartzheim, Green Bay; and Margaret Callaham, Hurley, WI; a sister-in-law, Karen Phillips, Deerbrook, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
    She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Catherine; an infant daughter, Rose, an infant brother, John, and her father and mother-in-law, John and Barbara Mueller.
    Funeral services for Christine will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1513 Pinewood Lane, New London. Rev. Paul Feider will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established.
    Christine's family would like to extend a special Thank you to all who supported her with calls, cards, hugs and prayers. They also wish to Thank Dr. Guenther, the nursing staff at Appleton Medical Center, as well as everyone at Cherry Meadows Hospice.
