    Obituary:
Your generous and loving God welcomed his faithful follower, Everett Gabriel Pierre, into his heavenly home on Friday, November 15, 2013. Everett spent his last two weeks in this world surrounded by his devoted, admiring, broken-hearted family as he braved gall bladder cancer. He was born on May 8, 1930 in Casco, Wisconsin, the second of five children born to the late Wilfred and Mary (Fameree) Pierre. Everett was a graduate of Shiocton High School class of 1948.
A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, serving from 1950-54, Everett was deployed during the Korean War and later stationed at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. He married Helen Jean Young on June 10, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek, Wisconsin. They spent their early married life in Leeman, Wisconsin, in a house they built next door to the Pierre General Store. In 1958, Everett moved his family to Clintonville where they made many happy memories. He served the Clintonville area through a very successful career as an American Family Insurance agent, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Rotary International, and chairman of the Red Cross Bloodmobile. Everett devoted time, talent, and treasure to St. Rose Catholic Church as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and in other leadership roles such as the cemetery committee. He also served on the St. Rose School Board. He and Helen enjoyed curling at the Clintonville Curling Club and taking many trips Everett earned for sales awards. Everett enjoyed time with family at the cabin on the Buckstaff Bayou, especially during the hunting season. In their retirement years, Helen and Everett wintered in Panama City Beach, Florida and spent the rest of the year in Wisconsin at their beautiful Clover Leaf Lakes home, his family's favorite gathering place during the rest of the year. In 2003, they moved to Appleton.
Everett will be remembered as a faith-filled, joyful soul who had a song for every occasion and situation. Anyone who ever played Sheaphead with him will think of Everett with a smile whenever someone confidently picks up the blind on a weak hand. His family will recall Everett with particular fondness as his great-grandchildren learn the words to "You Are My Sunshine". Every pontoon boat cruise around the Clover Leaf Lakes will remind his family of generations of wonderful memories made there with Everett in the captain's chair, blowing the ah-ooo-ga horn along the way. He was a shining example of living his faith, putting God and family first in all he did.
In addition to Helen, his beautiful bride of 60 years, Everett is survived by four adoring children: Mary Ann (Mel) Johnson, Jeffrey (Ann) Pierre, Barbara (Rick) Futter, and David (Lisa) Pierre. Everett and Helen have ten grandchildren: Nathan (Becky) Johnson, Sarah (Ryan) Brockman, Michael Johnson, Carolyn (Travis Pedersen) Pierre, John (Laura) Pierre, Kristin (Chad Balthazor) Pierre, Andrew Futter, Emily Futter, Katherine (Patrick) Koleske, Lauren Pierre; four great-grandchildren: Audrey Johnson, Jack & Ben Pedersen, and Sophia Koleske. Everett is further survived by siblings, Wayne (Joyce) Pierre, Winifred (Gerald) Wittlin, Nathalie Steede, and Perry (Carol) Pierre; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Janet (Lyle) Hansen, Ann (Gerard) Mares, Donald (Alice) Young as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Everett was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marian (Smith) and Clarence Young, sister-in-law Evelyn Young, brother-in-law Duaine Young, brother-in-law William Steede.
The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:30am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 E. Marquette Street, Appleton, with the Rev. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 - 11:00am at the church. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family encourages donations to the American Cancer Society .
Inurnment will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Clintonville, WI.
Thank you to Dr. Cheng, Dr. Guenther, Dr. Garcia, and the Hospice staff of ThedaCare at Home.
