John A., FreedomAge 85, died peacefully Saturday December 20, 2003, at his home surround ed by his family. He was born August 27th, 1918 in Little Chute to the la te Antone and Mary (Heitpas) Ver Voort. He and Gladys Kerrigan were marri ed 63 years ago, on June 27, 1940 in Wrightstown. He is survived by Glad ys and five children. A daughter Karin (Dick) Landwehr of Appleton; the ir children Dr. Kim (Dr. Matt) Schuller and Troy Landwehr. Daughter Shei la (Jim) Letter of Pulaski; their children Jeff (Carol) Letter, Jody (Ka i) Letter; Jon (Dr. Vicki Wilke) Letter; Jaime (Dave) Owen. A son Allan (M ary) Ver Voort of Madison, their children Kristin and Rachel. A daughter J illene (Ken) Dorn of Shiocton and their children Travis (Thi) Dorn, Sha ne (Paula) Dorn and Dr. Clint Dorn. A son Meldon (Debra) Ver Voort of Free dom her daughter Christina (Robert) Murphy. He is further survived by 10 g reat-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his brother Raymond (Bernic e) Ver Voort of Little Chute and his sister Cornelia (and the late Urba n) Coenen and by his wife's family Rosella (Ray) Vander Heiden, Neenah a nd Gordon (Blanche) Kerrigan, Kaukauna. John and Gladys farmed in the to wn of Freedom since 1943 and he was named Wisconsin Master Agriculturi st in 1982. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom a nd was involved in numerous other activities including Chairman of the Out agamie County Drainage Board and Dairy Superintendent at the County Fair u ntil his death. Other activities include 44 years as a 4-H leader, Preside nt of the County and State 4-H Leaders, President of Outagamie Soil Improv ement Association, Director of Morning Glory Farms, President of County a nd Fox Valley Holstein Assoc. John was preceded in death by his parents, h is stepmother Margaret (Evers) Ver Voort, and his grandson Todd Landweh r. Others preceding him in death include his brother Peter, step-brother H ank Gloudeman, sisters Dora (Henry) Van Groll, Delia Van Groll, and Harri et (Joseph) Van Zeeland. Harriet was born Sept. 5, 1914, in Litt le Chute, daughter of the late John and Nellie (Derks) Ver Voort. She marr ied Henry Vanevenhoven on May 2, 1936, at St. John Catholic Church in Litt le Chute; he preceded her in death on April 25, 1994. She was a devoted wi fe, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who especially enjoyed baki ng treats for those she loved. She also enjoyed playing cards, going up no rth to the family cottage and volunteering at Holy Cross Catholic Church a nd School. Harriet was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Ho ly Cross Altar Society and the Kaukauna Community Hospital Auxiliary.Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary (Richard) Vander Missen, De Per e; and Karen (David) Thiel, Port Edwards; seven grandchildren; 13 great-gr andchildren; two sisters, as well as several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-l aw, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Dr. J. H. Doyle of Little Chute called at three homes on Sunday and Monday and bought three babies into the world. It was not unusual for Dr. Doyle to officiate at births where he has done a great many times. And it is not unusual for the three families to have babies. The daughter born Sunday to Mr. and Mrs. John P. Gerrits was her 13th child. The daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. John VerVoort was their 16th child. The son born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rutten was their 12th offspring. Dr. Doyle has practiced at Little Chute for 39 years and figures he has officiated at the births of over 6000 babies.

Wildenberg, O.P. Sister Cath erine (Kostka)Sister Catherine Wildenberg, O.P. passed away at St. Mary Medical Cente r, Racine on Thursday, October 14, 2004. She was 91. Catherine Harriet Wil denberg was born February 15, 1913 to Henry and Frances (VerVoort) Wildenb erg in Little Chute. In 1932 she was a member of the first graduating cla ss from St. John High School in Little Chute. On August 3, 1932, she join ed the Racine Dominicans and at her reception in 1933 she was given the re ligious name, Sister Kostka. She professed her first vows in 1935 and h er final vows in 1941. In 1968 she returned to using her baptismal name, C atherine. Sister Catherine was a graduate of St. Norbert College, De Per e. Sister Catherine spend many years in service to others in teaching. S he began her ministry in 1934 at St. Edward, Racine. She taught at SS Pet er & Paul, Green Bay; Holy Cross, Kaukauna and in other schools in Wiscons in and Michigan. She became a resident at Siena Center in 1966 where she w orked in the Print Shop. After retiring from the print shop, she tutor ed at Olympia Brown school in Caledonia and helped in the after school pro gram at Winslow School, Racine. Marie F. Hansen, age 79, of Fremont, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on March 26, 2009 at the Weyauwega Health Care Center, following a battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. She was born on March 25, 1930, in Kaukauna, WI, the daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie (Van Den Bosch) Van Den Bogart. On November 23, 1948, Marie married Clifford Hansen, her life-long partner of 60 years. Marie was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega and the St. Ann's Society. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making applesauce, and playing cards and dominoes.
Marie's nurturing, loving and caring nature will be very sadly missed by her husband, Clifford, her children, Janet (Fred) Rates, Oshkosh, William (Susan) Hansen, Fremont, Dale (Chris) Hansen, Appleton, Shirley (Don) Leichtnam, Colby, WI, Patti (Tom) Schmoldt, Weyauwega, and Diane (Dan) Kohl, Fremont. Harriet Blajeski, 76, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side on April 8, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with lymphoma. The good Lord saw that she was getting tired, put His arms around her and took her home. Harriet was born on August 6, 1933, to Joseph and Petronella "Nellie" Van Den Bogart. On September 9, 1957, she was united in marriage to John "Jack" Blajeski at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1999, after 42 years of marriage. Harriet was employed at Piggly Wiggly in Kaukauna for 32 years and then at Copps for 16 years, where she made many special friends. She enjoyed her two grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Harriet also enjoyed crocheting, bowling and playing cards with her five special friends -- Lois, Dianne, Deb, Sue and Mary.
Harriet is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Kuehl and her two grandchildren, Cheri and Jonathan. She is also survived by brothers: Peter (Geri) and Richard Van Den Bogart; sisters-in-law: Shirlyne Van Den Bogart and JoAnne Van Den Bogart (Gasser), Lee Blajeski and Delores Blajeski; brothers-in-law: Tom (Carol) Blajeski, Clifford Hansen and LeRoy Heimerl; as well as many special nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

William J. Van Den Bogart "Bill", Appleton, age 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 1, 2010, following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Bill was born January 24, 1941, to the late Joseph and Petronella (Van Den Bosch) Van Den Bogart. He was employed for 27 years at Fox Tractor and then for 15 years at Fox Valley Lutheran High School. On July 23, 1960, he was united in marriage to Shirlyne Riehl and together they celebrated 49 years of marriage. Bill was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing, and spending summers at the cottage on Chute Pond in Mountain. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. His faith was a priority right to the end with his final words being "Jesus is My Savior".
He is survived by his wife, Shirlyne; three sons: Thomas (special friend Daniel Roepke), Michael, and David (Lori) and their sons, Jared and Justin; a daughter, Michelle (Scott) Wichman and their sons: Brandon and Brett; two brothers: Peter (Geri) and Richard; a sister, Harriet Blajeski; two brothers-in-law: LeRoy Heimerl and Clifford Hansen; a sister-in-law, JoAnne (Van Den Bogart) Gasser, his mother-in-law, Murleen Riehl; numerous nieces and nephews; and Shirlyne's family: Sharon (Tom) Haber, Eugene (Mary) Riehl, and Susan Riehl.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two brothers: John and Joseph, three sisters: Minnie Heimerl, Theresa (Jerry) Lyman, and Marie Hansen; a brother-in-law, Jack Blajeski; and his father-in-law, Richard Riehl.

Richard Van Den Bogart, 67, Oconto, passed away unexpectedly at an Oconto hospital on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011. He was born Feb. 17, 1943, son of the late Joseph and Petronella (Van Den Bosch) Van Den Bogart.
Rich enjoyed pulling his Allis-Chalmers with a very special group of friends. He owned and operated Van Den Bogart Farms. He loved time spent with his family, especially grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Matt Vanden Boogaard, age 93, of Kimberly, was surrounded by the love of his family when he entered into eternal life on Saturday, February 4, 2012. Waiting to greet him was his wife of 65 years, Marian, two sons-in-law, his parents, brothers and sister and many other relatives. He was born May 29, 1918, in Kimberly, the son of Henry and Frances (Ver Voort) Vanden Boogaard. On April 17, 1943, while serving his country in San Francisco, California, he married Marian Jean Melendy with whom he spent the next 65 years. Upon returning from the service they settled in Kimberly and remained there to raise their family. Matt was a lifelong member of Holy Name/Holy Spirit Church. He enjoyed spending his leisure time with his family at Shawano Lake and later at Clover Leaf Lakes.
Matt was a very active man and was especially involved with his church, the community and the William Verhagen American Legion Post #60 of Kimberly. Over the years, he had many occupations which required him to travel around the state, something he enjoyed very much. In his retirement, he was always helping someone on a project, volunteering somewhere or going for his daily walk. Matt enjoyed being with his family and following his grandchildren's many endeavors. He loved life, stayed active and was healthy for 90+ years. In 2010, he was honored as a veteran of WWII and traveled to Washington D.C. on the Old Glory Honor Flight.

Paul F. Vanden Boogaard, 90, one of God's carpenters, was called home on Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. He was born in Kimberly, on June 22, 1919, the son of the late Henry and Frances (Ver Voort) Vanden Boogaard. On April 14, 1945, he married Evelyn Laux at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton. He served proudly in the Army Air Corp during World War II.
After Paul was discharged, he started his life as a carpenter for O.J. Boldt Construction Company for over 25 years. Paul loved going to their cottage on White Lake, outside Weyauwega. He enjoyed fishing and working on and around the cottage with his sons, Paul and Tom. In his mid-70's, Paul tried his hand at golf. He always had fun.
Paul is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn; his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Paul (Leslie) Vanden Boogaard, Shiocton, and their son, Brian Vanden Boogaard, Wausau; Tom (Sandi) Vanden Boogaard, Weyauwega, and their daughter, Erin (Jim) Kraft, Appleton, and their daughters, Olivia and Mariah, and son, Kyle Vanden Boogaard, Appleton; sister and brothers, Maxine Wichman, Kimberly; Maridel (Ed) Prelwitz, Savannah, Ga.; and Matt Vanden Boogaard, Kimberly. Elmer J. Vanden Boogaard, 89, Appleton, died Friday Oct. 2, 2009, at Grand Horizons after a short illness. He was born in Kimberly on July 20, 1920, to the late Henry and Frances (Ver Voort) Vanden Boogaard. While attending Kimberly High School, Elmer lettered in four sports and was offered a football scholarship to the University of Notre Dame. On July 16, 1945, he married Opal Jensen at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Chicago. Their witnesses were the janitor and the rectory cook. He then returned to his war duties in England. Elmer was a member of the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 for over 60 years. He was also a member of St. Joseph Parish, Appleton. Elmer was named to the first athletic Hall of Fame at Kimberly High School. Elmer and Opal square danced with the Romeos and Calicos and enjoyed time spent at the family cottage on Nabor Road on Shawano Lake. She preceded him in death April 14, 2007. A strong advocate of Catholic education, Elmer endowed 9 students at Xavier High School. He was a strong philanthropist, especially to St. Elizabeth Hospital and the Green Bay Catholic Diocese.

Mary Jane Hartjes passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, July 9th at the age of 81. She was born June 22, 1930 in Little Chute, WI, daughter of Pete and Ida (Van Schindel) Ver Voort. She married Robert C. Hartjes on January 15, 1955. She lived in Little Chute most of her life. When she married Dad, she accompanied him to Texas where he was stationed at the Air Force Base. From there, they were stationed in Okinawa, Japan for 4 years where she worked for the Army in their finance department. When they returned they went to New Mexico and retired there and then returned home after 20 years in the Air Force.
Mother was a member of St John's Catholic Church all her life. She attended St John's grade school and high school, graduating in 1948. She worked for the Outagamie County Abstract office in Appleton, Register of Deeds office for a few years after return and then for Gene Romenesko and Joe Pennings as their bookkeeper for 27 years. Mother was also a bartender for Junior Salm at the Darboy Club and at Toby's Tap for many years. She worked for the St John Parish for 12 years as coordinator of volunteers.
Mother was a great sports fan since grade school following her brother, sons, and then grandchildren never missing a game. She was a great Packer fan holding season tickets for 30 years. She also loved the Milwaukee Braves and Brewers going to many games; including Marquette basketball, Badger football and basketball. She was chosen as Little Chute's #1 fan in 1989 by St John's Athletic Association for attending all games and being there for so many sporting events.
Mom and Dad were members of Fox Valley Golf Club for 20 years with the boys playing with their Dad whenever possible. Mary Jane also golfed in the Ladies League at Mid Vallee Golf Club. She was involved in a few card clubs, cribbage and bowling league for most of her life.
Mother's faith was a very important part of her life. Blessed Mother, St Anthony, St Jude and St Christopher.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband Robert; a daughter Rhonda; parents Pete and Ida Ver Voort; sisters Ruby Sanderfoot and Jule(Richard) Wippich; brother-in-law Jim "Cobby" Hartjes; mother and father-in-law Dewey and Vi Hartjes; special aunt and uncle Hazel and Ray Prunty.
She is survived by her children Randy (Lisa), Jane, Skin (fianc? Shelly) and Bruce; grandchildren Jenna (Patrick) Hietpas, Maggie, Whitney (special friend Brandon) and Sam; great grandchild Bryn. Also, brother Ken (Donna) VerVoort; brothers-in-law Richard Sanderfoot, Spec (Bonnie) Hartjes and a sister-in-law and special friend Grace Hartjes. Mary Jane also had many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Wippich, Jule "Julie" - Julie Wippich, 74, Little Chute, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at her home from complication due to a courageous struggle with cancer. She was born July 13, 1933, in Appleton, daughter of Peter and Ida (Van Schyndel) Ver Voort. She was a proud member of the American Drum & Bugle Corp. Julie married Richard Wippich July 10, 1954, at St. John's Parish in Little Chute and he preceded her in death October 25, 1994. Dick and Julie owned and operated the Sky View Club for 12 years retiring in 1987. She was employed at Appleton Medical Center prior to her retirement. She had numerous groups of wonderful friends who she enjoyed going on trips with, playing cards and going to the casino, breakfast clubs, lunch and dinner outings and especially grannies night out. (G.N.O.) She was a wonderful mother and will be terribly missed.
Julie is survived by four daughters: Cindy (Dan) Barndt, Kathy (Nick) Liesch, Shari (Gene) Biese, Kristy (Bryan) Vandenberg, all of Kaukauna; ten grandchildren: Rhonda Hoffman, Ryan Hoffman (Nicole Weyenberg), Bryce (Kim) Brandt, Stacy Liesch (Aaron Schmitt), Julie Liesch (Jared Van Handel), Amanda (Chase) Marks, Zachary Biese (Melissa Dercks), Monica, Deion and Riley Vandenberg; four great-grandchildren: Trinity, Brett, Carter and Kathryn. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her and she was the best grandmother and great-grandmother to each of them. Julie is also survived by a sister, Mary Jane Hartjes, Little Chute; a brother, Kenneth "Red" (Donna) Ver Voort, Combined Locks; brother- and sister-in-law, Lawrence (Millie) Wippich; a brother-in-law, Richard Sanderfoot, Darboy; godchildren: Linda DeValk, Terri Scharenbrach, Lisa Matlock, Bruce Hartjes and Rhonda Hoffman.
Mrs. Wippich was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ruby Sanderfoot; her father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Marcella Wippich; step father-in-law, George Kroes and brother-in-law, Robert Hartjes.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Hablewitz officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of the mass.

Marvin A. Van Groll, 68, Little Chute, died at home with his family at his side, on Saturday, March 5, 2011. He was born in Little Chute, on Oct. 23, 1942, to the late Henry and Dora (Ver Voort) Van Groll. Marvin married Mary Huss on April 17, 1963, at Holy Cross Parish in Kaukauna.
He was a farmer for many years. He traveled the state competing in tractor pulls with his tractor that was known as "Black Bear." He was a volunteer fireman for the Town of VandenBroek for 19 years. Marvin also owned Van's Septic Service, retiring in 2007.
Following his retirement, Marv continued to farm, working land and planting crops. That was his true passion in life. He also loved to spend time at the family cottage at Chute Pond, where he had many "no-fish" fishing trips and played cards.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary; children, Dan (Caroll), Little Chute; Dave (Ellen), Kaukauna; Brenda (Keith) Ziehl, Kaukauna; and Brian (Tina), Freedom; grandchildren, Amber (Michael) Leurquin, Jennie, Tony, Aaron, Sarah, Lance, Alexis, Brianna, Brooke, Zachary and Haley Van Groll, Nick and Kyle (fiancee, Ashley Ducheny) Otte; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jacob and Lila (on the way); brothers and sisters, Rich (Kate), Jerry (Janice), Marge (Norman) Van Beek, Irene (Clarence "Tiny") Wagner, Carol (Jerry) Selig, Donny (Beth) and LeRoy Van Groll; sisters and brother-in-law, Joan Ver Voort, Gary (Kay), Donna, Shirley and Jean Huss; and godchildren, Bruce Wagner, Randy Van Groll and B.J. He ma rried the former Phyllis Van Handel on November 13, 1976 at St. John 's in Little Chute. Carl was a master craftsman who was employed at Carpet land for 32 years, over the years he helped many of his friends and fami ly with his flooring and design skills. Rosemary (Mrs. Richard) Vander Missen, 71, De Pere, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday evening, Feb. 4, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Kaukauna, to the late Henry and Harriet (VerVoort) Vanevenhoven on April 6, 1942. On July 20, 1963, Rosie was united in marriage to Richard (Dick) Vander Missen at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, he prececed her in death on February 16, 2011.
She was a devoted wife and mother to her four children and a loving Grandma to her twelve grandchildren. She was a long time member of St. Mary Catholic Parish, De Pere and an Election Poll Worker in De Pere for many years. Rosie graduated from Wisconsin College of Cosmetology, 1961. Rosie's faith was very important to her and she shared that faith with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially holiday gatherings, Packer Games and Up North at the cottage. Rosie loved to golf, bowl and enjoyed swimming with her friends at the YMCA. Rosie and Dick enjoyed traveling together and time spent Up North, making memories with the family.
Survivors include her children, Shelly and Bryan Becker, Michael and Michelle Vander Missen, James & Molly Vander Missen, and Lisa and Eric Trousil; 12 Grandchildren, Jessica (Blaine) Bodart, Jason Becker; Joshua, Zachary, Tianna, Marissa, and Samuel Vander Missen; Drew and Morgan Vander Missen; and Alexis, Kylie and Casey Trousil. Her sister and brother-in-law, Karen and David Thiel, brother-in-law, Donald Vander Missen, sisters-in-law, Mary and Howard Daanen, Karen and Tom Bellisle, and Carole Vander Missen; as well as many nieces and nephews, and many special friends that she met along the way.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Mary (Vercauteren)VanderMissen.

Francis J. VerVoort, age 72, of Seymour passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was born March 28, 1944 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, a son of the late Peter and Ruth (Meulemens) VerVoort. He was united in marriage to Judy M. Gritt on June 15, 1968 in Seymour.
Fran was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Seymour, a choir member for many years, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of St. Vincent DePaul. He had also served in the Army Reserves, 395th Ordinance Co.
Fran worked as an auto body technician for Gustman's in Seymour and also operated Fran's Auto Body. He retired from Stora Enso in Kimberly as a machine operator.
Fran's family and grandchildren gave him much more joy than anything else in the world. Each and every one of them were treasured in Fran's heart.

Obituary:
David "Big Dave" VerVoort, age 70, of LaBelle, Florida, previously of Appleton, passed away on May 12, 2017.
David was born February 8, 1947 in Kimberly to Arnold "Porky" & Virginia (Laeyendecker) VerVoort. He attended Holy Spirit Catholic Grade School and graduated from Kimberly High School.
On November 15, 1969, he married Darlene (Ashton) in Appleton and they enjoyed 48 years together. David and Darlene had two children, Tammy and David "DJ" Jr. David was blessed with two grandchildren, McKenna and Maverick, and had much joy spending time and playing with them. David had many hobbies - country music, woodworking, riding motorcycles, and he also had a love of watching the Green Bay Packers.
David played in bands since the age of 12. He performed with Bonnie Lou Bishop & the Ramblers, with Walt Hess and the Rim Shots, and had special memories of performing with his sister Mary Pat. David eventually formed his own band "Big Dave & the Country Rebels". David loved going to country music concerts; he especially enjoyed seeing Ray Price, his idol.
David's woodworking talents allowed him to build many things for their home and for other family members.
In his younger years, David and Darlene put on many miles traveling all over the country on their motorcycle.
David was a builder for Les Gauthier Construction for many years. He finished his career at Paul VanZeeland Heating and Cooling as a plasma cutter before his retirement.
He will be missed by his wife Darlene, his son David "DJ" (Jolie), two grandchildren McKenna and Maverick, his siblings Mary Pat (Paul) Miller (formerly Mary Pat Sealy), Don (Janet) VerVoort, as well as many other in-laws, relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Tammy and his brother Tom VerVoort.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Signature Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida for the gentle care of David.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be donated to David's favorite charities.
A visitation will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, 204 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly. A memorial service will follow at 12 P.M.
No matter how we knew him… David, Big Dave, dad or grandpa, we thank you for being such a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. We thank you for all the loving memories and wonderful music that you have given us in your life. We know that you are with Tammy now and are at peace. You will be deeply missed. We love you.
