    Leslie M. Luckow, age 88, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Leslie was born in Forrest Junction on June 23, 1925, to the late George and Martha (Stebane) Luckow. Leslie was raised and worked for many years on the family farm, retiring in 1981. On June 6, 1953, he was united in marriage to LaVonne Stokes at First United Methodist Church in Kaukauna. He was a longtime member of the Mid-West Tool Collectors Association, the Wisconsin Feeder Pig Association, United Evangelical Methodist Church in Forrest Junction, and the last 25 years at First United Methodist Church, Appleton.
    Leslie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, LaVonne Luckow, Appleton; two brothers in law: Kenneth (Annelies) Stokes, Neenah and Richard Stokes, Kaukauna; sister in law, Marguerite (Wesley) Bevers, Appleton. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ed, and three sisters: Ida, Erna, and Ann.
    A funeral service will take place at 11 am on Saturday, April 26, at First United Methodist Church, 325 E. Franklin St., Appleton, with Rev. David Farina officiating. Friends may visit directly at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Home for the compassionate care given to Leslie.
