    Obituary:
Wyman Boettcher, age 77, of Athelstane, formerly of Chilton, died on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, WI. He was born March 17, 1936 in the Town of Rantoul, son of the late Arthur & Verona (Luedtke) Boettcher. He married Jeanette Rusch on July 5, 1958 at the Rantoul UCC.
Wyman had proudly served in the United States Army Reserves for 7 years.
He farmed for a time in the Town of Chilton, and began working for his father who had a garbage collection route in the area. When his father retired, Wyman continued working for M&N Disposal and subsequent companies until retiring while working for Superior.
He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where he had volunteered countless hours throughout his life. He was also a member of the Silver Cliff American Legion, Wisconsin Steam Engine Club, and RS Vintage Steel of Calumetville.
Earlier in his life, Wyman did a lot of woodworking and he and his son built the cabinets to remodel the cabin up north.
As everyone knew, Wyman enjoyed antiques; through his years of life, he was able to salvage and save enough history to make his own 'museum' that he enjoyed sharing with others. Throughout his life, Wyman had a passion for animals. Whether horses, or dogs, these animals brought him much joy and they always seemed excited to see Wyman.
The only earthly thing that Wyman loved more than animals, was his family, especially the time he was given to spend with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife: Jeanette; his children: Liz (Shawn) McCredie of Manitowoc, Willie (Debbie) Boettcher of Chilton, Carl Boettcher of Boscobel; 7 grandchildren; 2 sisters: Shirley Bartel and Arlene (Lyle) Roehrig; and his very special friend: Kurt Maedke. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers-in-law; and 2 sisters-in-law.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, August 19, 2013 at St. Luke Lutheran Church (W3102 Killsnake Rd) in Chilton with the Rev. Timm Heath officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 18, 2013 and on Monday at the church from 9:30 am until 10:30 am.
