    LaVerna K. Pingel (Broehm) passed away on December 4, 2014 at Libby's House. She was born November 6, 1922 in Hilbert to the late Arvin & Lydia (Fredrich) Broehm, Sr.
    On November 6, 1943, she married Harold Pingel in Potter. She and Harold farmed together until 1983. LaVerna was a member of County-line Homemakers, and was a faithful member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ where she was also a member of the choir and women's guild. LaVerna enjoyed baking, spending time with her family and enjoyed watching the Brewers & Packers.
    She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Kenneth of Chilton, Dale (Elaine) of Kaukauna, Donald (Donna) of Chilton, Glen (Rita) of Chilton; grandchildren: Sarah (Doug) Woelfel, Paula (Leonard) Rona, Pamela Pingel, Mark (Lynette) Pingel, Kelly (Ryann) Goodrich, Mary (Patrick) Neuman, Cory Pingel, Duane (Carmen) Pingel, Carol Pingel, Stefanie Pingel, Kimberlee (Sean) Pringle, Sean (Keri) Pingel, Kyle Pingel; great grandchildren: Rachel & Daniel Woelfel, Kyla & Lela Rona, Jaren & Lake Pingel, Gabriel Goodrich & an additional Goodrich child on the way, Gauge & Jeremiah Pingel, Jennifer Pringle, Jordan & Braxton Pingel; her siblings: Jerry (Joan) Broehm of Brillion, James (Grace) Broehm of Arizona, Germain Bratz of Brillion, Carl (Sharon) Broehm of Arizona, Darlene (Paul) Schumacher of Wisconsin Rapids, Arvin "Curly" (Donna) Broehm, Jr. of Elkhart Lake; in laws: Ruth Broehm, Virginia Hephner, Ruth & Milton Behnke, Lily Wunrow and Sandi Pingel; and her special roommate: Dolores Schmitz.
    She is preceded in death by her husband: Harold; her parents; her in-laws: Robert & Bertha Pingel; a daughter-in-law: Nancy Pingel; granddaughters: Ann, Jean & Jane Pingel; brothers: Eugene, Leo, Ruben, Milford & Ronald; and brothers and sisters-in-law.
    Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Ebenezer United Church of Christ (44 W. Washington) in Chilton with the Rev. Michael Safford-Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday, December 8, 2014.
    LaVerna's family would like to thank the entire staff at Libby's House, the Calumet County Hospice and the Calumet Medical Center for all of the care that was shown to their mother, grandmother and sister.

    Eugene Roland "Gene" Broehm, age 86, of Chilton, formerly of Hilbert, died on Friday August 24, 2012, at the Homestead Care Center in New Holstein. He was born on August 26, 1925 in Hilbert, son of the late Arvin & Lydia (Fredrich) Broehm. He married Ruth Irene Wolf on September 17, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. Gene was a partner with Armin Hernke in the Cold Spring Cheese Factory in Hilbert from 1941 to 1948 and then operated the plant from 1948 to 1975 when Golden Guernsey Dairy purchased the plant. He then worked for Golden Guernsey Dairy until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert, The Senior Citizens Groups of Chilton and Kiel, and he was a former member of the Wisconsin Cheese Maker's Association. He also served as a director for the State Bank of Hilbert. Gene loved fishing, playing cards, and dancing with his wife. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ruth; 5 children, Sharen & special friend Chuck of Green Bay, Gary & Darlene of Winona, MN, David & Christine of Cedarburg, Lynette & Bruce of Hilbert, Cherlyn & Steven of Hilbert; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, La Verna, Germaine, Darlene & Paul; 4 brothers, Jerome & Joan, James & Grace, Carl & Sharon, Curley; and a sister-in-law, Virginia & Jim.     Jerome "Jerry" Broehm, age 86, of Brillion, passed away on May 9, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family.
    Jerry was born on April 6, 1931 in the town of Rantoul, son of the late Arvin and Lydia (Fredrick) Broehm. On May 12, 1962, he married Joan Bernard at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel. The couple would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary today. Jerry worked on the family farm until 1995, drove a milk truck for Cold Springs Cheese Factory, and also worked at Hernke's Cheese Factory, later Sargento. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Chilton, serving in many capacities. He was also a member of Peace Ev. & Reformed Church in Potter. Jerry loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. All that counted to him was if he could make one child smile. He never went to bed angry, and he focused a lot on forgiveness.
    Jerry is survived by his wife and love of his life, Joan; their children, Lori (Donald) Jacobs, Lisa Ditter, Ricky (Penny) all of Chilton, Tina (Roger) Grunewald of Kiel, and Randy (special friend Elsie) of Brillion; grandchildren: Ashley Bryer, Michael, Nathan and Ryan Jacobs, Aerial and Nickolas Ditter, Mariyah and Hannah Broehm, Jamie (Marcia), Travis, and Tyler Grunewald, Blake, Austin, Jarrod, and Jake Broehm; great-grandchildren: Karl Grunewald and Jase Broehm; two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Germaine Bratz of Brillion, Darlene (Paul) Schumacher of Wisconsin Rapids, Larry (special friend Jeanette) Bernard of Chilton; three brothers and eight sisters-in-law: Carl (Sharon) of Bancock, Arvin "Curly" (Donna) of Elkhart Lake, Jim (Grace) of Phoenix, AZ, Bette (Al) Buchholz of Kiel, Susan (Tom) Mullenbach of New Holstein, Jane (John) Korb of St. Cloud, Ruth Broehm of Chilton, and Virginia Broehm of Brillion; adopted sister: Fran Pitz of Kiel; adopted grandchildren: Sam Popp of Potter and Brian and Eric Smuckers of OH; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers: Milford, Reuben, Eugene, Leo, and Ronald; one sister and three brothers-in-law: Laverna (Harold) Pingel, Oscar Bratz, and Lonnie Bernard; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harvey and Anita (Koehler) Bernard; two sisters-in-law: Sandra Bernard and Donna Bernard; and other relatives.
    Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. (NOON) on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Peace Ev. & Reformed in Potter. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod with burial to follow in Potter Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The Eagles Aerie of Chilton will do a short service at 11:30 a.m. before the church service starts at noon.
