    See Image Floyd G. Leis, 86, of Cashton, WI, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2008 at the hospital in Platteville, WI. Floyd was born on August 8, 1922 to Henry and Kathryn (Seitz) Leis, in Monroe County, WI. He attended the Pine Hollow School until 8th grade and then began working with his father on the farm and hauling milk. Floyd served in the Navy during WWII and earned the American Area Campaign Medal along with a Victory Medal. On December 13, 1947 Floyd was united in Holy Matrimony to Harriet Lord at the Pine Hollow Church. Floyd worked a variety of jobs in the area, he hauled oil with Hugh Bacon, worked with heavy equipment and driving truck for Ed Kramers and Sons, worked at the Creamery in Cashton, Fort McCoy, and the whey plant in Viroqua, WI. When he was not at work, Floyd was a volunteer on the Cashton Fire Department and Lion's Club, and also a member of the American Legion in Ontario. In his younger years he loved racing model T cars, hunting and fishing, later he enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Floyd is survived by his wife of 60 years, Harriet (Lord) Leis; son Douglas (Penny) Leis of Moorcroft, WY; daughters, Kathryn (Edward) Marx of Cashton, WI, Mary Kay Leis of Sparta, WI, Jennifer (Randy) Brueggen of Norwalk, WI; a brother, Joseph (Ardella) Leis of Cashton, WI; a sister, Elaine Leis of Sparta, WI; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Eugene and a sister Cecelia Leis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 22, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton, WI. Father K. Amalados will officiate. Burial with full military honors by the Ontario American Legion will follow in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Pine Hollow. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, November 21, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Liturgy Service at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton, WI. Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com .
