Obituary:
Carl Van Groll, of Appleton, age 51, died unexp ectedly on Monday, September 12, 2005 at home. Carl was born May 19, 19 54 to the late Henry and Dora (Ver Voort) Van Groll in Little Chute. He ma rried the former Phyllis Van Handel on November 13, 1976 at St. John 's in Little Chute. Carl was a master craftsman who was employed at Carpet land for 32 years, over the years he helped many of his friends and fami ly with his flooring and design skills. He was an avid fisherman and espec ially enjoyed hunting with his son, Chris, nephews and special friends. Ca rl was also a NASCAR and Packer fan and will be greatly missed by all w ho knew him.He is survived by his three children: Holly (Wes) Pohlman; Michelle Van Gr oll and Chris Van Groll; the mother of his children, Phyllis Van Groll; fi ve brothers: Rich (Kate), Jerry (Janice), Marvin (Mary), Donald (Beth) a nd LeRoy (Jill); three sisters: Marge (Norman) Van Beek, Irene (Clarenc e) Wagner, Carol (Jerry) Selig; and his two Godchildren, Jodi Selig and Ja cqueline Estreen. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, ne phews and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew, Mark Van Beek and h is Godson, Andy Van Groll.Carl's Mass of Christian Burial will be 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 1 5, 2005 at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, N4088 County Trunk E, Freedom. Fr iends will be received on THURSDAY at CHURCH from 2 p.m. until the ti me of service. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. In lieu of f lowers, a memorial is being established in Carl's name. The Boettcher Fami ly Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.
