    Obituary:
    Clara M. Van Dyke, 87, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at Harmony Life Center on Monday, January 28, 2008. She was born in Kaukauna to the late William and Genevieve (Van Dyke) Martzahl. On April 23, 1942, she married Clarence J. Van Dyke at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna; he preceded her in death on December 5, 1992. They farmed together most of their lives in the Wrightstown, Pulaski and Oneida areas until they retired in 1973, and then moved to Shawano in 1989. Clara lived her Christian faith daily and was much beloved by all who knew her. She enjoyed the Packers, playing cards and being with family.
    Survivors include her eleven children: Roy Van Dyke, Seymour; Sue (Claude) Schaefer, Green Bay; Gail (Norb) Wielgus, Crivitz; Lois (Roger) Kitzman, Pulaski; Evelyn (Keith) Burger, Black Creek; Arnold (Jane) Van Dyke, Green Bay; Mark Van Dyke, Antigo; Samuel (Carol) Van Dyke, Green Bay; Lucy (Todd) Hesselberg, Sussex,; Jenny (John) Leisgang, Seymour; and Leo Van Dyke, Wausau; 31 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; her sisters and brothers: Germaine McCabe, Eugene (Vivian) Martzahl, Mary Krueger, John (Rita) Martzahl, Gerald (Therese) Martzahl, Ann (Tom) Jansen, Mary Jane (Robert) Milheiser, and Paul (Sandy) Martzahl; brothers-in-law: John Wisneski, Harvey Van Dyke; sister-in-law, Doris Van Dyke.
    In addition to her parents and husband, Clara was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary; two brothers-in-law, Leon Krueger and Howard Mc Cabe; and her mother and father-in-law, Anne and Arnold Van Dyke; brothers and sisters-in-law: Catherine (August) Meulemans, Richard (Esther) Van Dyke, Clara (Martin) Nieling, Leona (John) Vande Lygraaf, Alrita Wisneski, Robert Van Dyke, and Irene Van Dyke.
    Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 1, at Lyndahl Funeral Home where a parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Saturday at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 South Oneida Street, where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum on Monday, February 4, at 10 a.m.

After she graduated from high school she went to the St. Clara Home in Milwaukee and worked at International Harvester. Mary then enlisted in the US Navy where she met her future husband Leon. After serving as an aviation machinist's mate third class she married Leon Krueger on June 29, 1946 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. She also worked at Zwicker's Knitting Mill and later she retired from the Kaukauna Club Cheese Company. Mary enjoyed gardening, knitting, golfing and loved to bake. Some of the most important things to Mary were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the special memories they made together will always be cherished. Her faith was important to her and she was a life long member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
    Mary is survived by her children; Georgia (Terry) Riggles, Michael (Christine) Krueger, David Krueger, Christine (Larry) Krueger, Mary Sue Krueger and Patricia (Jon) Horn, seven grandchildren; Shaun, Kyle (Bridgette), Cole, Leon, Christopher, Jericho (Kim), Stephanie (Matthew), 9 great grandchildren; Brynlee, Gwen, Sawyer, Calder, Vaughn, Fisher, Serena, Jameson, and Marianna, four siblings; Jerry Martzahl, Mary Jane Milheiser, Ann (Tom) Jansen, Paul (Sandy) Martzahl, a sister-in-law, Rita Martzahl, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon, two sons; Guy Thomas and Joseph, siblings; Clara (Clarence) Van Dyke, Gene (Vivian) Martzahl and Jack Martzahl and Germaine McCabe.
    The funeral liturgy will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St. with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the mass at church.

    Eugene W. "Gene" Martzahl, age 86, passed away on April 15, 2012 at Appleton Health Care Center. Gene was born September 27, 1925 to Genevieve (Van Dyke) and William Martzahl in Kaukauna, WI. On May 25, 1946 he was married to Vivian Hennes. After attending Kaukauna High School, Gene volunteered to proudly serve in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Saratoga. After he was honorably discharged, he returned to Kaukauna to marry his high school sweetheart, Vivian Hennes. Eugene was employed by Thilmany Paper Company for 44 years before retiring in 1987. Gene took pride in his lawn and gardening; he loved growing roses and tending to the house and yard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons at the family cabin. Aside from hunting, he also enjoyed family gatherings, bonfires and playing cards at the cabin. Gene loved to golf and enjoyed traveling south on golfing vacations. In the Summer Gene looked forward to the EAA Convention. Eugene will be dearly missed by his children: Carolyn (Tom) Tovrea, Cindi (Robert) Patschke, Timothy (Cindy) Martzahl, Christine (Ralph) Headson, Thomas (Joni) Martzahl, Mary Tease and James (Karen) Martzahl. Gene was very proud of his 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.     John P. "Jack" Martzahl, 85, Wrightstown, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 21, 1927 in Kaukauna, son of the late William and Genevieve Martzahl. After attending Holy Cross Catholic School he started working at Manitowoc Ship Yards in 1943. Following his job at Manitowoc Ship Yards he began to work at Thilmany Pulp and Paper in 1944. While working at Thilmany's he was drafted in the Army from 1946 to 1947 and was stationed in Korea. After returing he joined the American Legion Urban Klister Post 436 for an astounding 62 years. In 1969, he was inducted to the Quarter Century Club at Thilmany's. Jack also enjoyed the 18 years spent working at Bowers Brothers Feed Mill in Wrightstown and met many lifelong friends. Jack was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and NASCAR and never missed a game. When he wasn't watching sports you could find him in his garden or driving his John Deere tractors.
    On June 3, 1950 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna, he married the love of his life, Rita Baeten. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rita; his 5 children: Shari (Mike) Petersen, Hollandtown, Joe (Donna) Martzahl, Greenleaf, Pam (Randy) Kaster, De Pere, Rick (Deb), De Pere, Dan (Janine) Martzahl, Green Bay. He will be truly missed by his grandchildren, Cora and Curt Bradley, Jen and Jeremy Zahringer, Abbey and Andy Adrian, Mike and Rachaele Petersen, Jamie, Jonathon, Jordan and Jackson Martzahl and Andrea and Kaitlin Martzahl; great-grandchildren: Gavin and Wyatt Bradley, Sophia, Cayden, Grayson, and Trystan Zahringer, Emma and Evan Adrian; Haiden Martzahl; and Taylor Martzahl.     Germaine C. Mc Cabe, Kaukauna
    Age 84, passed away in peace and comfort on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute following a short illness. She was born on October 22, 1929 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late William and Genevieve (Van Dyke) Martzahl. On April 15, 1950 she was united in marriage to Howard P. Mc Cabe at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. They were married for 56 years before he preceded her in death on January 7, 2006. Germaine was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church, Kaukauna. Although she worked briefly for Kaukauna Club, her life's devotion was being a stay-at-home mother to her six children. Germaine enjoyed singing in St. Mary's Choir, traveling, and playing bingo. Reading, crocheting, and praying the rosary for anyone in need were a few of her favorite pastimes. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
    She is survived by her children: Dan (Linda) Mc Cabe, Kaukauna, Sarah (Ken) Van Mun, Kimberly, William Mc Cabe, Kaukauna, Kathleen (fiancé Shawn Demerath), Combined Locks, Patricia Mc Cabe, Philadelphia, Mary (Todd) Roovers, Kaukauna; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters: Mary Krueger, MaryJane (Bob) Milheiser, Ann (Tom) Jansen, and brothers: Paul (Sandy) Martzahl and Gerald Martzahl; sisters-in-law: Rita Martzahl and Dorothy Mc Cabe. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, brothers Jack Martzahl and Gene Martzahl, sister Clara Van Dyke, brothers-in-law: Leon Krueger, Clarence Van Dyke, and Harold Mc Cabe, sisters-in-law: Vivian Martzahl, Doris Mc Cabe, and Lorraine (Sr. John) Mc Cabe.
    The Mass of Christian Burial for Germaine will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish @ St. Mary Church, 119 West Seventh St., Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors celebrating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received directly at the church on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of the mass.     Lillian Clara (Steward) Platten, 91, of Menasha, formerly of Seymour and Black Creek, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 6, 2017 at Prairie Homes in Menasha. She was born April 26, 1925, daughter of the late Frank and Rosella (Van Dyke) Ebben.
    She graduated in 1943 from St. Mary's High School in Menasha, having attended St. Mary's schools her entire life. Following graduation she worked for Kimberly-Clark until the end of the war.
    On October 8, 1947 she was united in marriage to Calvin Steward, Sr.
    As she was raising the children, she worked as a waitress, in retail, and as a school custodian. She also worked many summers at the Outagamie County Fair.
    Lillian was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menasha. She was previously a member of St. John Catholic Church in Seymour and belonged to the Altar Society. She taught religious education at St. John and St. Sebastian for many years. Lillian had also been a "pink lady" at Appleton Medical Center and volunteered with VNA Hospice. Lillian had also belonged to the Outagamie Homemakers Club while she lived in Seymour.
    Lillian later married Roman Platten on December 11, 1982. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1985.
    She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to many different card playing groups to play sheepshead and cribbage. Lillian also loved to dance, especially the jitterbug and polkas. She was known for putting on holiday dinners and baking many pies, cakes and cookies through the years. Lillian was a friend to many and rarely turned down an invitation to get together. More than anything else she enjoyed the many family gatherings and attending her grandchildren's events.
    She is survived by her children: Shari (Mick) Wolf, Antigo; Cal Jr. (Diane) Steward, Appleton; Tim (Kathie) Steward, Appleton; Michael Steward; Milwaukee; seven grandchildren: Tammi (Tim) Miller, Amy (Mel) Pollom, Kip (Amber) Rueden, Charity Recla, Adam (Janet) Steward, Josh Steward, and Christine (Ben) Hansen; five step-grandchildren: Janey, Cara, Eric, Nikki, and Dan; 11 great-grandchildren: Paige, Danny, Kyla, Stephanie, Ashley, Iris, Noelle, Lydia, Samuel, Josiah, and Dorothy; 16 step-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren: Tamaya, Joshua, Haven, and Maliyah. Further survived by a brother, Dave (Bev) Ebben; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Dave) Spiegelberg, Dorothy Steward, and Marcella Gagnow.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roman Platten; great-grandson, Taylor Nelson; siblings: Floyd (Dorothy) Ebben, Vivian (Bob) McNutt, Ruth (Norbert) Kropidlowski, and Dan Ebben; step-great-granddaughter, Hailey.
    Friends may call at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 528 Second St., Menasha on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:30 am with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com
