    See Image John Micke a well known Dundas farm er was struck by train #17 on the Ashland Div. last Saturday and instant ly killed. Micke had just started out to do some work in his district up on the roads and was struck while crossing the track at Dundas hill. He w as badly crushed, one horse also being killed, the other managing to bre ak away. The fireman on the locomotive saw Micke approaching the track, b ut supposed he would stop and let the train pass, as it was in full vi ew of the road. No danger signal aside from the regular crossing signal w as therefore given.

    Krieck, Ethel (Peterson), Little Chute Age 83, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by her family. Ethel was born on November 12, 1920, daughter of the late Charles and Theresa (Micke) Peterson. In 1960, she married Orville "Slim" Krieck, and the couple operated Meadows Riding Stable for many years.Ethel is survived by two daughters: Shirley (David) Mulroy, Fremont; JoAnn (Robert) VerKuilen, Little Chute; three sons: Richard (Sallie) Porto, New Berlin; Donald (Patricia) Porto, Bakersfield, California; Moxy Krieck, Bayside; fifteen grandchildren: Stephanie (Greg) Berger, Valerie Mulroy, Shaun (Anita) Mulroy, Andy Mulroy, Daniel Mulroy, and Katina Mulroy; Mark (Teresa) VerKuilen, Karen Williams, and Stacy (Kevin) Doucette; Lisa (John) Egan, Tristan Porto, and Angela Porto; David Porto, Scott Porto, and Sara Porto; seven great-grandchildren: James Mulroy, Sadie Mulroy, Andrea, Grant, Stone and Chancellor VerKuilen, and Henry Egan; three sisters: Lilas (Milford) Roehrborn, Wrightstown, Patricia Vandeyacht, Kaukauna; Ida (Ray) VandenLangenberg, Green Bay; two sisters-in-law: Marie Peterson, Appleton and Dorothy Peterson, Black Creek. She was born on May 29, 1923 in Sherwood to Char les and Thresa (Micke) Peterson. Florence married Jake Lamers on June 1, 1 943 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood. He preceded her in dea th on January 22, 2003. The couple farmed near Kimberly, then at Mackvil le from 1954 until 1958 when they moved to Kimberly. Florence was a devot ed wife and mother. After her children were raised, she worked as an elder ly home aid for Outagamie County, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Ho ly Name Parish. Florence enjoyed flowers, needlepoint, poetry, classical m usic, card games and she was an accomplished writer and Scrabble player.     Lilas A. (Peterson) Roehrborn, age 90, of Wrightstown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2016. She was born August 12, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles and Theresa (Micke) Peterson. Lilas married Milford A. Roehrborn on August 11, 1945. Together they shared 65 years of marriage. Her husband Milford preceded her in death on September 10, 2010. They resided in the same house in Wrightstown for over 67 years. Lilas and Milford raised 11 children there. Lilas was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Mother was very creative. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, sewing, painting, crocheting, baking, cooking, gambling, watching game shows on television, feeding and watching the birds and wildlife from her window in the kitchen. Lilas loved driving her golf cart all over her property and to the woods and back. She enjoyed sharing stories of her life and reminiscing. She loved her two dogs, Winston and Annie, and her cat, Tripper Louise.
    During her lifetime while raising her 11 children, she cleaned the Kaukauna Clinic and Briggs School. She also worked with her husband at their meat market and the meat shop at home. She also worked at Weber's Supermarket, Kaukauna Community Hospital as a cook and the American Legion in Wrightstown.
    Lilas will be sadly missed by her children: Kathleen (Ken) Van De Hey of Greenleaf, Deborah Laux of Sauk City, Linda (Richard) Schroeder of Combined Locks, Milford Jr. (Susan) Roehrborn of Seymour, Phil A. (Ronald Suhr) Roehrborn of Spring Green, Charles Sr. (Linda) Roehrborn of Kaukauna, Carolyn Romenesko (Tom Vock) of Wrightstown, Ronald (Jean) Roehrborn of Kaukauna, Richard (Michael Mayle) Roehrborn of Kaukauna; son-in-law, Mark Vande Hey of Kaukauna; daughter-in-law, Pam Kaster of Denmark; 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister Ida (Ray) Vanden Langenberg of Green Bay, sisters-in-law Marie Peterson of Kaukauna and Dorothy Peterson of Black Creek. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
    Lilas is preceded in death by her husband, Milford A. Roehrborn; her parents; her step-mother, Mille Peterson; her son, Jeffery Roehrborn, daughter, Suzanne Vande Hey, grandchild, Stacy Lynn Vande Hey, and son-in-law, Richard Liebergen; brothers Robert and Charles Peterson; sisters and brothers-in-law Carol (Joe) Van Laarhoven, Florence (Jake) Lamers, Patricia (Mark) VandeYacht and Ethel (Orville) Krieck.
    A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at IMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 510 Sullivan Avenue, Kaukauna. Visitation will be received at the church on that day from 11:00 p.m. until the time of service. Together Milford and Lilas will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Kaukauna at a later date. She was born on October 19, 1932, in Sherwood to Charles and Theresa (Micke) Peterson and grew up in Kaukauna, WI. Pat married Mark Vandeyacht on November 25, 1950. They resided in Combined Locks, and later moved to Kaukauna. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1995.
    Pat was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family. She took delight in her children, their spouses, and her 24 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pat was an artist and loved to capture the beauty of the world through her paintings. She loved crafts and creating things. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, deer and other animals from her window in the woods. Pat was an avid reader. She was also well known and loved for her graciousness, her ready laugh and her wonderful sense of humor.

    Dolores Lopas, of Menasha, age 80 years, died on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at the Appleton Medical Center. She was born October 19, 1926, in Kaukauna, the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Henrietta (Micke) Mischler. Dolores was employed in the deli at the Piggly Wiggly, Menasha, and retired at the age of 80 years. She raised her four children and enjoyed making quilts and blankets for her family members.
    Dolores was an avid collector of hats and pins. She was an active member of the Fox Valley Rainbow Club.
    She is survived by her children: Robert (Julie) Lopas, Oshkosh; Steve "Pete" Lopas, Menasha and Christine Lopas, Appleton; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Dolores is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Lopas; her son, James A. "Chuck" Lopas; and sister, Ceil Ryba.
    The funeral service for Dolores will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2007, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

Born June 15, 1925, Betty spent her early years in Sherwood, the oldest of nine children of John and Anna Nettekoven. Married to Edmund in 1945, they farmed in Apple Creek until 1961; he preceded her in death in 1994.

    Alois Nettekoven "Ollie," Sherwood, age 79, died on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at home. Ollie was born March 21, 1929 in the Town of Harrison son of the late John and Anna (Micke) Nettekoven. He was employed at Kimberly Mill for 36 years until retiring in 1994. Farming and Fords were always in his blood. With retirement he did not want to leave the farm, even if it was only watering cows!

    Earl Nettekoven, age 72, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton on Thursday, October 6, 2011. His family and friends were at his side. He was born in Kaukauna on September 16, 1939, son of the late John and Anna (Micke) Nettekoven. Earl attended school at Sacred Heart in Sherwood, and grew up on the family farm in Woodville. He married Geneva Wenzel, who preceded him in death in 1967. In 1973, Earl married Marilyn. For many years, he operated the family dairy farm, which is now operated by his son. He also worked for many years at the James River Canal Plant until his retirement. He was a former member of the Sherwood Lions Club, and loved spending time socializing around town with family members and friends. He loved being the guy everyone always wanted to talk with! His family parties were wonderful, and his grandchildren loved listening to his banjo and accordion playing.

    Ralph Robert "Sam" Lamers, age 70, died at his Kimberly home on Sept. 13, 2017. Sam was born May 1, 1947 to Jacob and Florence (Peterson) Lamers. He was married to Mary Ann (Gossens) Lamers for 49 years.
    Sam graduated from Kimberly High School in 1965 and attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and was then drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War.
    Sam was a dedicated employee of the Kimberly paper mill for over 30 years, known for his work ethic and friendliness. He was an active member of Holy Spirit Parish.
    Sam loved spending time with family, biking, sports, playing cards and having coffee with his incredible group of friends. There is so much more, but Sam said keep it simple.

    Vande Hey, Suzanne A. It is with great sadness that we announce that Suzanne A. (Roerhborn Liebergen) Vande Hey, wife of Mark Vande Hey, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Wednesday November 5, 2014 from a brain aneurysm. In the spirit of Sue's giving nature, and following her wishes, the family has chosen to provide the gift of organ donation to families that are praying for a miracle.
    Sue was the successful owner of Fanci That Beauty Salon for 46 years. She originally opened "the shop" in Wrightstown before moving to Kaukauna. In 1988, the business moved to its present location. Sue touched many people through her business and throughout her life. Sue's favorite pastime was to work on projects around the house with her husband. She loved to work in her yard, cutting the grass, pulling weeds, planting her flowers and decorating the yard for the seasons. She loved spoiling her grandchildren by taking them for walks, singing, attending grandparents day, and showering them with too many special gifts for Christmas and birthdays. She would also never pass on a chance to go fishing. Every day Sue enjoyed jumping in her van with her dog, Julia, going for a drive and having a cup of coffee at her favorite restaurants in the Fox Valley.
    Sue is survived by: her husband Mark Vande Hey; children: Christina Terry, Eric Liebergen, Tara Liebergen, Sara Keough and Chad Liebergen; grandchildren: Derek Liebergen, Connor Liebergen, Robert Dix, Claudia Liebergen, Alexa Terry, Carley Terry, Gannon Keough and Nora Keough. her mother: Lilas (Peterson) Roehrborn; sisters: Kathy VanDe Hey, Deborah Laux, Linda Schroeder and Caroline Romenesko; and brothers: Milford Jr., Philip, Charles, Ronald and Richard Roehrborn; and mother-in-law: Anna Jane Vande Hey. She is also survived by a special friend Dixie Gerharz and "the girls from the shop" Theresa Van Asten, Stephanie Knutson and Nikki Nienhaus.
    In addition to her father, Milford Roehrborn, Suzanne was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Liebergen; and brother, Jeffrey Roehrborn.
    Visitation will be held Monday November 10, 2014 at HOLY CROSS PARISH (301 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna) from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Jerome Pastors will officiate. Mark's brother, Deacon Steve Vande Hey will assist. The family will move to the Darboy Club (N9695 County Road N) to celebrate Sue's life following Mass until 4:00pm. They will continue to receive friends and family and invite all to join them for visiting and lunch which will be served throughout the afternoon. Committal St. Paul Cemetery, Wrightstown.     James (Jim) J. Vandeyacht Sr., 60, Suamico, passed away peacefully at home after a valiant battle with cancer on Friday, October 31, 2014. He was born on Jan. 27, 1954 in Combined Locks to the late Mark and Pat (Peterson) Vandeyacht. Jim married Elizabeth (Bette) Everson in Appleton. He was a self-made man and a hard worker who owned various businesses and projects. Jim lived in the Green Bay area for the past 31 years and loved camping, traveling, biking, fishing, gardening, meeting people, was an avid caver and singing karaoke with his son. He was devoted to his family and friends.
    Survivors include his wife, Bette; son, James J. Vandeyacht Jr., brothers and sisters, Dan (Kathy) Vandeyacht; Ken Vandeyacht (fiancé, Cindy Hogan); Kathy (Glen) Vander Velden; Bill (Barb) Vandeyacht; Jean (Bob) Kieffer; Tom (Mary) Vandeyacht; Patty (Brian) Joosten.     James A. "Charlie" Lopas, age 54, died unexpectedly, Thursday afternoon, July 28, 2005. He was born July 14, 1951, to James W. and Dolores I. (Mischler) Lopas, in Manitowoc and moved to Appleton as a young child. In the late 1970s Charlie began his career as a sound and lighting engineer for various bands, where he traveled throughout the country. In 1991 he moved to Menasha where he continued his profession.
    He is survived by his mother, Dolores I. (Mischler) Lopas, Menasha; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Robert P. and Julie Lopas and their children, Oshkosh; Steven J. Lopas, Menasha; a sister, Christine L. Lopas, Appleton; aunts, an uncle and cousins.
    He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Lopas, March 4, 1999.

    New London - Linda Lee (Mischler) Janda, age 57, of New London, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at her residence. Linda was born in Kaukauna on September 13, 1960 to the late Allan and Rita (Van Eyck) Mischler. Linda was free-spirited and independent. She enjoyed nature, especially feeding the birds and spending time up north. She was a hard worker, who always put others first. What Linda loved most was spending time with her grandson, Gatsby.
    Linda is survived by her significant other, Mark Meyer, Bear Creek; son, Ken Mischler, New London; grandson, Gatsby Pfefferle-Mischler, New London; nephews, Jay and Trevor; nieces, Venesha, Melissa, and Shannon; and siblings, Dave Mischler, Kaukauna, Dan Mischler, Kaukauna, Jeff (Krista) Mischler, Kimberly, Bill Mischler, Kaukauna, and Diane (Allen) Vaile, Pearson. She is further survived by numerous relatives and friends, especially her dear friend Diane Zimmerman.
    Linda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Fred.
    A memorial service for Linda will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London. Chaplain Karin Derenne will be officiating. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
    In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

    Nettekoven, Brian J., Menasha, Age 39, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 19, 2010. He was born in Neenah on November 24, 1970, son of Earl and Marilyn (Onan) Nettekoven. He graduated from Kaukauna High School and from Fox Valley Tech. Brian worked for Albany International for 13 years. He had a very entrepreneurial spirit and always had creative ideas which led to Brian owning and operating The Outpost Pub and Provision He enjoyed spending time with his many friends, riding his V-Rod Harley, and was very fond of going to Packer Games. His three children: Cooper, Lexi and Grady were the world to him. Cooper will have fond memories of attending sporting events with Dad. Daddy was Lexi's best friend. Grady was Daddy's little shadow.
    Brian is survived by his children: Cooper, Alexa and Grady Nettekoven of Sherwood; parents, Earl and Marilyn Nettekoven of Sherwood; sibblings: Steve Nettekoven of Sherwood, Vincent (Donna) Nettekoven of Kaukauna and their children Jeremy (Beth) and Ashley, Anna (Brian) Mauel of Sherwood and their children Jason, Aaron and Geneva; Keith (Nicole) Nettekoven of Sherwood and their children Brooklyn, Kasey and Halle, Todd (Nancy) Wenzel of Sherwood and their children Dylan and Brady; and special friend, Cherie Mader of Kaukauna. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Howard and Ruth Onan and John and Anna Nettekoven.
    The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at CHRIST THE KING LUTHERAN CHURCH, Sherwood, with Rev. Bill Schroeder officiating. Friends will be received at CHRIST THE KING on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rev. Bill Schroeder for being a good influence on Brian.

    Valerie J. Mulroy, age 44 of Hortonville, died unexpectedly at her residence on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Valerie was born in Appleton, WI on September 29, 1972, the daughter of David and Shirley (Porto) Mulroy. She grew up in Dale. Valerie graduated from Fox Valley Technical College with a degree in Computer Programming and then resided in Hortonville. Valerie was a very beautiful, caring and intelligent person. She was an amazing and wonderful mother and did everything that she could for her son, James. She enjoyed hiking, camping, and outdoors. Valerie was very close to her grandmother, Ethel Krieck. Valerie loved spending time with her beloved dog, Janis Joplin.
    Valerie is survived by her son, James (partner Ievgeniia Galkina) Mulroy; her special friend, Steven Wilber; parents David and Shirley Mulroy; siblings, Stephanie Mulroy, Shaun Mulroy, Andrew Mulroy (special friend Susie Betts), Daniel Mulroy, and Katina Mulroy (fiancé Christopher Oelke); niece, Sadie Mulroy; and god parents, Richard and Judy Mulroy. She is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
    A Celebration of Valerie's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home (109 W. Main St.), Hortonville. Family and friends are invited to visit directly at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
