Obituary:
Donald William Danke, age 71, of Menasha, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2006, at his home after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on August 9, 1935, in Appleton; son of the late William and Louise (Klemp) Danke. On September 2, 1961, Donald married Carol Hansen. Donald served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Gilbert Paper for 33 years before retiring in 1997.
Donald was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Neenah and served as an usher as well as on the church's council. The oldest of 13 children, Donald was a natural care-giver and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He got along with everyone, loved to travel with Carol, woodworking, building bird houses and was the neighborhood "watchman."
Donald will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years, Carol Danke, Menasha; his sons, Brian (Ann) Danke, Menasha and David (Jill) Danke, Clintonville; his daughter, Linda (Mark) Wickesberg, Menasha; his grandchildren: Rebecca Danke, Tim and Amanda Danke and Ashton Wickesberg; his brothers: Russell (Nancy), Readfield; Robert (Stef), Hortonville; Jerold (Mary), Fremont; Gerold (Bev), Sioux City, Iowa; Tom (Judy) Danke, Greenville; his sisters: Barbara (Phil) Gallow, Neenah; Elizabeth (Donald) Dey, Weyauwega; Georgianne (Bob) Webb, New London; Pat (Doug) Erhardt, Arizona; Diane Lathrop, New London and Althea (Chuck) Grothe, Missouri; his brother-in-law, Allen (Stephanie) Hansen, Appleton and by several nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a baby sister and by his brother, William Danke.
Funeral services for Donald will take place on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 809 S. Commercial St., Neenah with The Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. Family and friends may visit at Westgor Funeral Home, Neenah on Sunday, August 20, 2006, from 4 - 8 p.m. and again on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment and military honors will take place in Resthaven Cemetery, Menasha. A memorial fund is being established in his name.

Danke, William A.William A. Danke, N5419 Hintzke Rd, New London, age 62, died unexpected ly on Thursday, July 3, 2003 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He w as born on June 22, 1941 in New London son of the late William and Loui se (Klemp) Danke. On July 6, 1963 he married Sally Runge in New London. Bi ll worked as a truck driver for Hillshire for 28 years. He was currently e mployed at Hilker Trucking for the past 6 months. He and his wife also ope rated a hobby farm in Maple Creek for many years. He especially enjoyed hu nting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. William Favorite officiating. B urial will be in the New Maple Creek Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunda y, July 6 from 4-8 p.m. at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London a nd at the Church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
