    Orville A. Stephani, age 93, of Houghton, MI and formerly of Manitowoc, passed away Tuesday January 7, 2014 at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock, MI, where he had resided for the past 3 years.
    He was born on March 3, 1920 in Manitowoc, son of the late Peter & Elizabeth (Pautz) Stephani. Orville was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1938. Orville was a veteran having served with the Coast Guard during World War II. On April 26, 1941 he was united in marriage to the former Lucille Brunner and she preceded him in death on April 1, 1999. Since that time Orville has lived in Houghton, MI and then 3 years with his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ron Curran. Orville worked as a machinist for Hamilton Manufacturing in Manitowoc, retiring in 1985.
    Survivors include his children: Sharon (Ron) Curran, Houghton, MI; Edward Stephani, Iron Mountain, MI; Jerry (Mary) Stephani, Brookfield, WI; Susan (David) Bubb, Manitowoc; Mary Prantil, Healdsburg, CA; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends also survive. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; his brother and sister-in-law: Arnold (Helen) Stephani; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jane (Walter) Kaufman; Irene (Arland) Matthias; Dave (Agnes) Brunner; Marie (Edmund) Welch; Gerald Brunner; Louis (Marie) Brunner.
    At Orville's request, no services will be held and burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc at a later date. The Memorial Chapel & Plowe Funeral Homes have been assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.plowefuneralhome.com
    Orville's family would like to thank the caring staff of the Houghton County Medical Care Facility for the kind and compassionate care shown to our Dad during his stay.

    Arnold G. Stephani, age 85, of 849 Wilson Street, Manitowoc, went gently into Jesus arms with his family at his side, Monday morning, February 19, 2007, at his residence. Arnold was born February 21, 1921, in Sheboygan, son of the late Peter Stephani and Elizabeth Stephani Hein. Arnold served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a First Lieutenant. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting. On January 20, 1944, he married the former Helen Valenta at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. He was a partner in the CPA firm Schmalz and Stephani for many years. He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and the church council; Kiwanis Golden K; Board of Regents of Wisconsin Lutheran College, board member of the Lakeshore Humane Society, and a member of the Association of CPAs. He enjoyed spending time with his family, loved to travel, and showing his care to others. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Helen, Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Pamela (John) Roekle, Appleton; Valerie (Kenneth) Strouf, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Scott and Kristi Roekle and their children Ryan and Aimee, Neenah; Stephen and Marie Roekle and their children Cody and Taylor, Manitowoc; Stephanie and Jeff Froehlich and their children Alexandra, Emmalina, and Katharina, Appleton; Lisa and Steve Goldberg, Mass; Lee and Kelly Korak, Colorado; a brother: Orville Stephani, Michigan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; sister-in-law: Lucille Stephani; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frank Valenta and Helen Valenta Schlorf. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. Revs. Robert Kujawski and Stephen Melso will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Lakeshore Humane Society. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Yetter and all the oncology staff and Aurora Hospice Care.
