    Obituary:
    George A. Rasmussen, age 77, of Winchester, died Saturday, August 12, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born October 18, 1928, in the Town of Winchester, to the late Lars and Pauline (Ihrig) Rasmussen. George attended Mathison School and obtained the rest of his education by reading, which he continued to enjoy his entire lifetime. George's life was the enjoyment of the hard work of farming. He worked the John Miller farm during his early years for sixteen years. He then went to work for the Larsen Coop retiring after more than twenty five years. During his retirement years, George enjoyed part time work for Tri City Glass.
    He was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran church of Winchester where he enjoyed ushering for many years and had also served on the church council. George's motto in life was "One Day at a Time," which he got from his strong faith and the love of his church. George loved all sports, including golf, bowling, baseball and football.
    George is survived by four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Marian and Howard Kohler, Evelyn and Howard Schierland, all of Winchester; Adeline Butter, of Seymour; Pauline Johnson, of Menasha; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Lester and Edna Rasmussen, of Winneconne; Frederick Rasmussen, of Winchester; and many nieces and nephews.
    Along with his parents, George was also preceded in death by one sister, Florence; and two brothers, Carl and Christian. He will be sadly missed by us all.
    Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, Larsen, Wisconsin with Pastor Clarence Harms officiating. Burial will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Winchester. Family and friends may call at the Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, WI on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
