    A defective cord on a lamp table has been singled out as the cause of a fire that took the lives of the six little children of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Weyenberg early Sunday morning according to a statement made by Kaukauna Fire Chief William Haupt. Mrs. Weinberg stated she had turned on the lamp in the living room Sunday morning before leaving the house to attend mass with her husband.
    A Mass of Angels was sung at Holy Cross Catholic Church this morning at 10 o'clock in final services for the six children who perished in a fire that swept their home early Sunday. Dead are Lynn, 7; Douglas, 6; Margaret, 5; John, 3; Barbara, 2 ½; and Michael. 1 ½. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Boys from Holy Cross school served as pallbearers a large crowd of mourners and friends attended the service at the church and cemetery.

    Weyenberg, Floyd "Cha"Floyd "Cha" Weyenberg, age 77, Larsen, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at hom e. He was born May 26, 1928 in Kaukauna, Wisc., to the late George and Jos ephine (Wildenberg) Weyenberg. Floyd served his country in the U.S. Navy f rom 1946 until 1951 being honorably discharged with the Victory Meda l. He married Margaret Dorsey on September 30, 1950, in Appleton. They ma de their home in Kaukauna; Caledonia, Wisc.; and in 1990 Floyd and Margar et moved to Larsen. Margaret preceded Floyd in death on March 17, 200 0. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne.Floyd is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Tammy Weyenb erg, of Caledonia, Wisc.; Peter and Marianne Weyenberg, of DeBary, Fla.; T ony and Becky Weyenberg, of Cartersville, Ga.; George and Jane Weyenber g, of Caledonia; one daughter and son-in-law, Coletta and Peter Heinzleman n, of Caledonia; 12 grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Pea rl and Epe VanEpern, Elaine Brown; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don a nd Barb Weyenberg, Jerry and Kay Weyenberg; and many devoted friends and f amily.Along with his parents and wife, Floyd was also preceded in death by eig ht children, Lynn, Douglas, Barbara, John, Margaret, Michael, Joseph, a nd James; one granddaughter, Nicole Lynn Heinzlemann; and one brother, Mel vin "Lefty" Weyenberg.A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at S t. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne, with the Rev. Leroy Smet officiatin g.
