    Joan Kathryn Hannemann, 80, De Pere, died unexpectedly on July 5, 2011, at Bellin Hospital. She was born on September 12, 1930 in Appleton, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Ethel Prasher. Joan graduated from Appleton High school in 1948 and held various jobs throughout her working life, mostly in the clerical/typing field.
    Joan married Robert Hannemann on January 13, 1956 in Appleton, Wisconsin. After raising their three kids, Joan and Bob retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1989. After Bob's death, Joan was married to Ralph Carter on April 11, 2003, until she moved to De Pere in May 2009.
    Joan will be remembered for her fun-loving approach to life and her kind-heartedness. Joan had a huge heart and was always volunteering for various causes, from her kids' childhood classrooms to the public library and church during retirement. Joan loved reading, sewing, quilting, playing games, shopping, and spending time on her computer. She enjoyed new hobbies during retirement, such as tap dancing, aerobics, and playing violin. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to laugh and have a good time. She always knew how to light up a room with her sense of humor and huge smile. Joan will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
    Survivors include son, Paul (Noreen) Hannemann, Kaukauna; daughter, Carrie (Bill) Bohrer, De Pere; grandchildren, Sarah Hannemann (Brent Knutson), Maria (Tyler) Verkuilen, Carly Hannemann (Corey Wachtendonk), Eric Bohrer, Beth Bohrer, and Heidi Bohrer; great grandchildren, Nicholas Wachtendonk and Brooks Verkuilen; her siblings Lois Williams, Sam Prasher, and Sue Krueger; and many other nieces and nephews.
    Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hannemann and son, Peter Hannemann.
    Family and friends may call on Friday, July 8, 2011, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 724 East South River St., Appleton, from 9am - 11am. A funeral service will be at 11am on Friday with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Savides officiating. Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, is assisting the family with arrangements.     Obituary:
    Hannemann, Peter (Pete) 50, passed away unexpectedly in California on Sept. 17, 2009. He was born Sept. 11, 1959, in Appleton, son of Joan (Prasher) Hannemann Carter and the late Robert Hannemann.
    Survivors include his mother, Joan, and her husband, Ralph Carter; siblings, Paul (Noreen) Hannemann, Kaukauna; and Carrie (Bill) Bohrer, De Pere; nieces and nephews, Sarah Hannemann, Maria (Tyler) Verkuilen, Carly Hannemann, Eric Bohrer, Beth Bohrer and Heidi Bohrer; and his best friend and lovable pup, Sid.
    Pete was preceded in death by his father, Robert.
    In his 30's, Pete taught himself to play the piano and became an accomplished pianist. He graduated from UW-Milwaukee, receiving a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, and was on the Dean's list. Pete was employed by Astronautics Corp. in Milwaukee, as an Electrical Engineer and most recently at Curtiss-Wright in Pasadena, Calif.
    Pete will be sadly missed by his family, many special friends and coworkers.
    A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, WI, 54115. An informal Memorial Reception will follow at Legends of De Pere, 875 Heritage Road. Whether or not you are able to attend the visitation, you are encouraged to join family and friends at Legends of De Pere.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be mailed to Cotter Funeral Home, in care of the Peter Hannemann family.
