    Obituary:
    Orville H. Vanevenhoven, 87, Kaukauna, entered into eternal life after a short illness at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011. Orville married Alma VanAsten at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. They celebrated 63 years of marriage on Oct. 23, 2010. Orville was a life-long member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna, where he was an usher and Mass server. He owned and operated Vanevenhoven's Dairy until his retirement in 1979. Orville served honorably with U.S. Navy during World War II from 1944 to 1946 serving on the U.S.S. Gracia in the Philippines. Orville, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather loved and was so proud of his 27 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was an avid Packers and Cubs fan and enjoyed discussing Cubs vs. Brewers with his grandsons. He was talented in woodworking and proudly made his grandchildren many toys. He enjoyed playing cards, bus trips, gardening and, in his earlier years, also enjoyed fishing with his sons. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was the first one to help anyone in need. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, and VFW. Orville will be missed by many.
    Orville is survived by his loving wife, Alma; eight children, Joyce (Pete) VanGroll, Wayne (Diane) Vanevenhoven, Leon Vanevenhoven, Dennis Vanevenhoven, Don (Judy) Vanevenhoven, Jane (Jim) Heiting, Bill (Sue) Vanevenhoven, and Joan (Jeff) Rueden, all from the Fox Valley area; 27 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his two sisters, Frances Vissers, and Evelyn (Jim) Hermes; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary VanderHeiden, Rosella (Joe) VanderHeiden, Marian VanAsten and Leo Micke.
    He was preceded in death by his mother and father, John and Hattie (Verbeten) Vanevenhoven; siblings, Angeline (Willard) VandenHeuvel, Ervin (Martha) Vanevenhoven, Hank (Harriet) Vanevenhoven, Arther (Nellie) Vanevenhoven, Lillian (Martin) Thyssen, Howard Vanevenhoven, Marion (Nicholas) Kavanugh, Ray (Rita) Vanevenhoven, Ralph (Angeline) Vanevenhoven, Rosemary Vanevenhoven; and brother-in-law, Wilbert Vissers. He is further preceded in death by his mother- and father-in-law, Henry and Caroline (Daul) VanAsten; sisters and brothers-in-law, Blance (Ed) VanHandel, Martin (Josephine) VanAsten, William VanAsten, Josephine Micke, Raymond VanAsten, Clarence VanAsten and Leo VanderHeiden.
    Orville's Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday at Church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Military Rites will be held following the services at church. Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home is assisting the family.
    Our family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of St. Elizabeth's Hospital for their personal and compassionate care.
