See Image Mathias Jackels, propriet or of a saloon on Main Avenue, died suddenly Saturday evening about 9:30 f rom heart failure, while sitting on a chair in the room in their rear of h is saloon. He has been unwell for several months but his sudden death w as unexpected. He sank over from the chair and drop to the floor breathi ng his last as several friends reached him. He went into the rear ro om to rest because he felt faint and weak. Deceased was the son of Mr. a nd Mrs. Nicholas Jaeckels of 12th Street and was born at Hilbert in 187 6, coming here with his parents. A few years ago he was married to Miss J ulia Robinson. He has worked at about Kaukauna for about 20 years duri ng the last five years of which he has conducted a saloon. He was a memb er of the South Side branch of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and of S t. Boniface Society of St. Mary's Church which societies have charge of t he funeral. Deceased what is survived by his wife and a two year-old so n, a sister, Mrs. Anna Heintz of Green Bay and his parents. The funeral w as held at 9:30 Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Church, with burial in t he parish cemetery.

Appleton Resident Dies of Heart Attack An Appleton man, Mathew Jaeckels, 57, 1001 S. Lawe St. died of a heart attack about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in his home. Outagamie County Coroner Bernard H. Kemps reported the death due to natural causes after a pathological examination. Jaeckels was employed at Fox River Paper Co. He is survived by a son and a daughter. The body was taken to Wichmann Funeral Home.

Kaukauna - Linda L. "Jakes" Jaeckels, age 55, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 as the result of a car accident. She was born in Kaukauna on June 23, 1962 to James and Joan (Kersten) Jaeckels. She was a lifelong Kaukauna resident and graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1980. Linda was currently working at I-Pap. She was a devoted daughter, sister and aunt. Linda adored her niece, nephews, great niece and nephew and did her best to attend every one of their sporting events and school programs. She could always be counted on as the "organizer". She was always planning great ideas with family and friends events.
Linda is survived by her mother, Joan Jaeckels of Kaukauna; siblings: Jeff of Kaukauna; Sue (Jon Klein) Monnot of Tigerton; Ken of Kaukauna; and Lisa (fiancée Brian Johnson) Krol of Kaukauna; nephews and niece: Joe and Kyle Derus and Michael and Hailey Krol; great nephew and niece: Lucas and Vanessa; and Godparents: Betty Kersten and Bob Kersten. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, and many special friends. Especially she will be missed by her dog Lucy.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, James; and grandparents, including her Grandma Jo who she was very close to.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna) beginning at 12:30 p.m. until time of Mass at 3:30 p.m. The Rev. Thomas Pomeroy will officiate and Deacon Bruce Corey will assist. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
