    Vandenhoven, Sarah W.Sarah W. Vandenhoven 86, a Green Bay resident, passed away Saturday, Mar ch 29, 2003, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Sarah was born Aug. 21, 1916, in B ay Settlement, daughter of the late Martin and Antoinette (Kuipers) Van La nen. She married Edmund Vandenhoven at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Au g. 31, 1946. Sarah and Edmund farmed together in the town of Bellevue f or over 32 years and she was a faithful member for 46 years at St. Phil ip the Apostle Catholic Church. Sarah was a member of the V.F.W. Auxilia ry Post #9677, the Third Order of St. Francis, the Ladies Altar Socie ty at St. Philip’s and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She was also record ing secretary for over 40 years for the National Catholic Society of Fores ters St. Claire Court #1102. Sarah was a wonderful, caring grandmother a nd loved playing cards, reading and traveling.Survivors include her husband, Edmund Vandenhoven, Allouez; two childre n, James (Ruth Lalonde) Vandenhoven, Wisconsin Rapids; and Patricia Vanden hoven, Green Bay; three grandchildren, Daniel, Karabeth and Seth; two grea t-grandchildren, Colt and Bryce; one sister, Verna (Jack) Burckle, Wausa u; and one sister-in-law, Irene Van Lanen, Green Bay.Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Rodne y, Orville and Donald Van Lanen and one sister, Ella Piton.Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Tues day, April 1, 2003 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until t he time of services at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside. There w ill be a parish rosary at 4:30 p.m., a V.F.W. Auxiliary memorial servi ce at 6:45 p.m. and a Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m., all Tuesday at the fu neral home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at t he church with Rev. Rallen Stencil officiating. Burial in Allouez Cathol ic Cemetery.The family wishes to express special thanks to Fathers John Van Der Hors t, Rallen Stencil, Paul Du Charme, Larry Canavera and Sr. Helen Keyzer.     Van Lanen, Donald J.Donald J. Van Lanen, 81, Town of Scott, was reunited with his loving wi fe on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, while at home surrounded by the love of h is family. Born on the family homestead on May 29, 1921, he is the s on of the late Martin and Antoinette (Kuipers) Van Lanen. Don graduated fr om East High School. He married the former Genevieve Vandenack on June 1 7, 1950, at SS. Peter and Paul Church and she preceded him in death on Au g. 21, 2001. The couple farmed the Van Lanen homestead all their married l ife until they retired in the 1990's. During this time he also was a devot ed school bus driver for 25 years. Don was a life-long member of Holy Cro ss Church, Bay Settlement. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of anim als, the outdoors and farming. He will especially be remembered for his gr eat love of family and friends.He is survived by five children, Kathy and Dan Becker, Green Bay; Linda V an Lanen at home; Geri Van Lanen, Green Bay; Diane and Dan Mabie, Howar d; Julie Van Lanen, at home; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Selena) Becker, K urt (fiance Amy) Becker, Laura Becker; Amanda, Adam, Brianna and Courtn ey Mabie; one great-grandson, Nathaniel Becker; two sisters and brothers-i n-law, Sarah (Edmund) Vandenhoven, Green Bay; and Verna (Jack) Burkle, Wau sau; one sister-in-law, Irene Van Lanen, Green Bay; numerous nieces, nephe ws and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 51 years, Geneviev e; one sister, Ella (Cyrus) Piton; two brothers, Rodney Van Lanen and Orvi lle Van Lanen; two nephews, Larry Piton (Don's godchild) and Thomas Van La nen; one niece, Theresa Van Lanen.Visitation at MALCORE Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird St., fr om 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Parish Wake Service 7:45 p.m. Friday at the funer al home. Saturday visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9:30 a .m. until the time of the funeral.     Verna M. Burckle, 76, Wausau, died Wednesday, April 4, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau. Verna was born Jan. 7, 1931, to the late Martin and Antoinette (Kuipers) Van Lanen in Bay Settlement, Wis. (Green Bay Area). She married John Burckle on Sept. 6, 1952, in Green Bay. Verna was a full-time homemaker and enjoyed cooking, reading and bridge. She especially enjoyed learning southern cooking and widespread travel.
    Survivors include her husband, Jack, Wausau; and son, Richard, New Berlin; and many nieces and nephews in the Green Bay area.
    Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at the Church of St. Anne's, 700 W. Bridge St., Wausau, with Rev. Steven J. Brice officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
    Brainard Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Rodney "Pudge" Van Lanen, 55, a Green Bay resident, died unexpectedly Monday, November 9, 2015, at a local hospital. He was born January 26, 1960, in Green Bay to the late Orville and Irene (VandenHouten) Van Lanen. Pudge attended Preble High School, graduating in 1978. He was employed by DeGroot Construction from 1978 until 1994. Pudge was then employed by the Green Bay Water Utility until his retirement this past year. He also owned and operated Affordable Lawn Care, as well as an antique dealer. Pudge was a longtime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He will always be remembered as a hardworking, loving father and grandfather.
    He is survived by two daughters, Vanessa Van Lanen and Chantel Van Lanen, both of Green Bay; their mother, Sandra Van Lanen, Florida; He was blessed with two granddaughters, Kaylee Jones and Aleigha Rathbun, who were the apples of his eyes; seven siblings, Milton (Jean) Van Lanen, Barbara (Peter) Beyer, Shirley Huxford, all of Green Bay; Sandie (Paul) Dorner, Luxemburg; David Van Lanen, Green Bay; Michael (Patti) Van Lanen, New Franken; Loretta (Alvin) Beyer, New Franken; his Godfather and Uncle, John Burckle, Wausau; his fiancee, Judi Pekarek, Green Bay; nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Van Lanen, an infant sister, Theresa; his fiancée, Mary Porod, many aunts and uncles.
    Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 743 S. Monroe Ave., after 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Paul Schleis officiating. Burial in Mellen Township Cemetery, Wallace, Michigan. On-line condolences may be sent to the Van Lanen family at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund had been established.
