Benotch, David J. "Notch" - David Benotch, 69, Kaukauna, passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at the Appleton Health Care Center. David was born in Kaukauna, on May 19, 1939, son of the late Leo and Magdalene (Pennings) Benotch. Following high school, he served his country for a time as a member of the United States Marine Corps and after his return, married the former Kay Malsavage on June 25, 1965. Kay preceded him in death in December of 1980. David worked many years in the Kaukauna area as an independent insurance agent. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially baseball, softball and hunting, was an avid reader and could usually be found puttering in his woodshop in the garage. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include two children, Desseria (Jordan) Kopac, Racine, and their children Jordan Kopac, III and Eden Kopac; and John (Diane) Benotch, Appleton; and two sisters, Barb Gossens, Sturgeon Bay; and Carrie (Peter) Sherrill, Forestville. David is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kay in 1980; a sister, Carol; a brother, Jerome (Ruth) Benotch; and a brother-in-law, Bob Gossens.
The funeral liturgy for David will be 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Martin Fox officiating. Inurnment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the services.

Obituary:
John 'Champ' Benotch, 50, Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 24, 2017, of natural causes. He was born October 9, 1966 to the late David & Kay (Malsavage) Benotch in Appleton and raised in Kaukauna. On July 30, 1994, he married Diane Chauvin in Milwaukee. John was passionate about baseball, playing up until college and was also an avid fan.
He is survived by his wife Diane, Appleton; sister: Desseria (Jordan) Kopac, Burlington, WI as well as many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
A private memorial service for John will be held at a later date.
