    Viola T. Woyak, 97, Appleton, passed away with her family at her side on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Oakridge Gardens, Menasha. She was born Jan. 5, 1913, in Kimberly, the daughter of the late John and Harriet (Sternagel) Welhouse. Viola married Henry Woyak on Nov. 27, 1937.
    She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, fishing and cooking for her family and grandchildren. Viola was a member of the Golden Agers of Kimberly, and the Monday afternoon Ladies Card Club. Viola and Henry were members of St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha, since their marriage.
    She is survived by her children, Theresa (Bob) Quella, Appleton; Barb Godeck, Menasha; Ken (Gail) Woyak, Little Chute; grandchildren, Steve (Lori) Quella, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Sharon Quella, Sun Prairie; Sue (Tom) Tengowski, Green Bay; Jeff (Lisa) Gietman, Ukiah, Calif.; Brian (Erica) Godeck, Neenah; Tom (Stephany) Woyak, Appleton; and Tiffany Woyak, Madison; nine great-grandchildren; sons-in-law, John Gietman, Somis, Calif.; and James Godeck, New London; sisters, Rosella Miller, Kimberly; and Frances (Elmer) Helms, Appleton; sisters-in-law, Alice (Bob) Erdman, Neenah; Irene Kain, Neenah; Marcine Last, Appleton; and Mabel Welhouse, Appleton. Viola is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Woyak; daughter, Janet Gietman; brothers, John, Jr. (Evelyn) and Joseph Welhouse; sister, Julia Vande Voort; grandson, James Godeck, Jr.; granddaughter, Bonnie (Godeck) Longsine; and great-grandson, Joshua Longsine.
    The funeral liturgy for Viola will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 528 Second Street, Menasha. Father Paul Radetski will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at the parish cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

    Rosella Miller, 99, Kimberly, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013. The former Rosella Welhouse was born on September 22, 1914 to John and Hattie (Sternagle) Welhouse. On July 27, 1946 she married George Miller and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1985. She was a long time member of Holy Name Catholic Church, the Ladies of Holy Name Mission Club and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 60 of Kimberly. Rosella was also a member of The Golden Agers for 38 years. She was employed at Woolworth for many years

    Frances Mary (Welhouse) Helms, 97, of Appleton, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Fox River Assisted Living. She was born on May 8, 1916 in Kimberly, daughter of John and Hattie (Sternagal) Welhouse.
    Frances worked at Hopfensperger Meat Market in Appleton where she met the love of her life and eternal partner Elmer Helms. Frances and Elmer were married on July 26, 1941. She also worked at the Kimberly Paper Mill and later at Mrs. Karl's Bakery until in 1981, she retired to lovingly care for her newborn grandchild Kelly.
    Frances and Elmer are members of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Frances enjoyed being active in cooking, baking, sewing, and caring for the yard. Together they enjoyed golfing, racing and sporting events, card playing with relatives and friends and just spending time with family and friends. Elmer and Frances traveled each year meeting new friends and eventually visiting all 50 states.
    Frances is survived by her two children; son Gary, Appleton, and daughter, Pat (Pat) Byrne, Appleton: grand-daughter, Kelly (Eric) DeWine, Fremont, and grand-son, Shawn (Shelby) Byrne, Madison, and many loved extended family members. She was recently preceded in death by her husband Elmer (9/26/13), and sisters Viola, Rosella, and Julia, brothers Joe and John and parents John and Hattie Welhouse.
    A Memorial Service for Frances will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday May 8, 2014 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 3:00 PM until the hour of service. We thought it fitting that we celebrate her life on this day of May 8th as Frances would have been 98.
    The family of Elmer and Frances would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of both Heartland Hospice and Fox River Assisted Living, for all their care and support in helping the Helms family thru a difficult year.

    John Welhouse, Menasha, age 83, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. John was born in Appleton on November 13, 1924, son of the late John and Hattie (Sternagel) Welhouse. He married Evelyn Spierings who preceded him in death in 1976. In 1977, he married Bernice Van Roy, who also preceded him in death in 2007. Over the years, Johnny worked as a dairy farmer, at Thilmany Pulp and Paper in Kaukauna, and later started a plastering company with his brother-in-law, Nubs LeNoble. He enjoyed playing cribbage, was a member of the Elcho Lions Club and was a Town of Buchanan fire fighter. For many years he lived at Post Lake, and was well-known for his willingness to help his many friends and neighbors with various projects around their homes.
    Johnny is survived by Bernice's five children: Richard Van Roy, Milwaukee; Mary (Leon) Doering, Wausaukee; Debbie (John) Probst, Menasha; Joe Van Roy, Menasha; and Ginger (Jack) Hoppe, Seymour; eleven grandchildren: Kelley Van Roy, Brian Van Roy, Eric Van Roy, Jody (Christy) Doering, Josh Doering, Melissa Probst, Jon Probst, Adam Probst, Randy Van Roy, Jessica Hoppe, and Nicki Hoppe; and four great-grandchildren: Holly, Chauna, Madelyn, and Carter. John is also survived by three sisters: Frances (Elmer) Helms, Appleton; Viola Woyak, Menasha; and Rosella Miller, Kimberly.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Evelyn and Bernice, a brother Joe Welhouse, a sister Julia (Leo) Vande Voort, and brothers-in-law Heinie Woyak and George Miller.
    The funeral liturgy for John will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2525 E. Lourdes Drive in Appleton, with Fr. Donald Zuleger officiating. Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.

    William Herbert Miller, age 62, passed away peacefully with family on Monday, December 13, 2010. He was born in Appleton on August 15, 1948, the son of George and Rosella (Welhouse) Miller. William served his country honorably in the Army in Korea. After his service, William graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Environmental Sciences. He was very active and enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, throwing horse shoes, running marathons and outdoor sports. William also loved his cats who were a part of his family.
    William is lovingly survived by his mother, Rosella A. Miller of Kimberly; brothers: James J. Miller of Kimberly, Richard J. Miller (special friend, Carol Gerhartz) of Darboy, Ronald J. (Mariko) Miller of Okinawa, Japan; sisters: Ruth M. Van Gompel of Appleton, Mary Ann E. (Reg) Behrends of Drummond and many nieces and nephews.
    William is preceded in death by his father, George Miller, brother, Robert G. (Audrey) Miller, sister-in-law, Peg Miller, and brother-in-law, Clarence Van Gompel.
    A Funeral Service for William will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 at the JANSEN FARGO FUNERAL HOME, with Sister Annette Koss officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in William's name.
