    Piette, Edward AugustAge 99, died Tuesday evening, December 24, 2002 at Vallhaven Care Cent er in Neenah. Edward was born on September 25, 1903 on the family fa rm in Brussels (Door County), Wisconsin; son of Charles B. and Antoinet te (Lerat) Piette. The family moved to Appleton when he was one year ol d. He attended parochial schools in Appleton, leaving after sixth gra de to work on the Rhyner farm west of Neenah. He enjoyed farming and wou ld have liked to own a farm. He joined the Navy in 1922 and served aboa rd the destroyer USS Billingsley, traveling to many ports around the world .Edward married Clara Dietrich at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton on Ju ly 12, 1928, just before the Depression began. They enjoyed 65 years toget her.Edward was a hard worker all of his life and spent most of his working yea rs at Appleton Woolen Mills (Appleton Mills) as a weaver of paper mill fel ts. He lived in Appleton until moving to Neenah to be near Clara, who w as in a nursing home after suffering a stroke. He lived in his own apartme nt at Assisi Home of Neenah until the age of 98. He has been a member of F irst English Lutheran Church for many years.Edward is survived by his daughter, Delores (Eugene) Cherdron, Neenah; son s: Ronald (Lorna) Piette, Neenah; and Gerald (Shirley) Piette, Surprise, A rizona; four grandchildren: Daniel Piette, Oshkosh; Debra Cherdron-Pauls ( Brian Pauls), Bartlett, Illinois; Darren Piette, Neenah; and Dr. Randall ( Amy) Piette, Scottsdale, Arizona; four great-grandchildren: Bradley Piett e, Neenah; Crystal Piette, Neenah; Andrea McRae, Oshkosh; and Lauren Piett e, Scottsdale, Arizona; two sisters-in-law: Genevieve (the late William) P iette, Appleton; and Jeannette (the late Walter) Dietrich, Winneconne; ma ny nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Antionette (Lerat) Pi ette; his wife, Clara (Dietrich) Piette; sisters: Salina (George) Barret t; and Marie (Fred, Sr.) Weber; brothers: Joseph (Florence), George (Della ), William, and Emery (infant); and five other brothers and sisters who di ed in childbirth/early infancy; grandson, Dean (Peggy) Piette; father a nd mother-in-law, Herman and Minnie (Butzlaff) Dietrich; brothers and sist ers-in-law: Alma (Walter) Kettenhofen, Robert (Eveyln) Dietrich, Henry (Be tty) Dietrich, Hilda (Harvey) Wundrow, Esther (Joseph) Wagner, and Walt er Dietrich.The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2002 at V alley Funeral Home with Pastor Will Bloedow officiating.     Lucille "Ceil" Mader, completed her life here on earth on August 10, 2010, at the age of 96. She had been a resident of the Ridgeview Highlands Circle Senior Housing Complex in Grand Chute for 16 years. She was born October 7, 1913, in Appleton, WI, to George J. and Salina (Piette) Barrett. After Salina died early in Lucille's childhood, George married Julia Aldrich. Lucille graduated from St. Mary Springs Academy, Fond du Lac, and attended UW-Milwaukee. She married Charles C. Mader on June 20, 1935, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleton. They had four children, sharing 35 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1970. Ceil was employed by Zwicker Knitting Mills, retiring as a supervisor, after 26 years. She loved to travel, enjoyed playing cards, Friday night fish fry, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and many memorable years at the cottage she and her husband built on Moshawquit Lake. One of the things she will be remembered for was her love of sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and the Badgers.
    Ceil is survived by her children: Julia "Judy" (James) Ebben; Georgianna "Georgie" Pankratz, Appleton; Louis (Deborah) Mader, Kansas; daughter-in-law Leann Mader, Appleton; and a dear former daughter-in-law Donna (Merrill) Mader, Kansas; three sisters-in-law: Irene Langenberg, Combined Locks; Marge Foss, Washington; Mildred Mader, Madison. She was the cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Ceil also had many personal friends, of which included her very special card playing friends, Arlene Jochman, the late Rosie Callan and the late Luella Van Ooyen and Doris Vander Velden being her longtime valued friend and also the Ridgeview Tuesday card players.
    Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charlie; her son; Charles "Chuck" "Skip" Mader, son-in-law James Pankratz, brother, Ronald Barrett; sister, Frances (Barrett) Forster; a cherished former daughter-in-law Janice (Voigt) Mader; three great-grandchildren; father- and mother-in-law: Henry and Mary Mader; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and loved ones.
    Lucille was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Mass of Resurrection for Lucille will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH (410 W. Lawrence St.) with Fr. Larry Abler officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Church.
    In lieu of flowers, per Ceil's request, memorials to the American Cancer Society, MS, Spina Bifida or Diabetes are appreciated. A special thanks to her longtime physician, Dr. John Elisberg, Deacon CF, the Heartland Hospice team, Alma, Sam, Sister Ruth and a hospice volunteer friend Jean Mauthe. Also another special thanks to The Island Shores staff for their compassion and care for our mother.

    Dorothy A. Bobb, 95, Neenah, died peacefully Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at The Bridges, Appleton. She was born on January 2, 1920, in Appleton, daughter of George and Adele (Poquette) Piette. Dorothy was united in marriage to Elmer Bobb on May 17, 1941. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2001.
    Family was always foremost in Dorothy's life. She also enjoyed tap dancing and music; especially singing.
    Dorothy is survived by 2 daughters: Christine (Ed) Rubbert, Appleton and Wendy (Jim) Kraus, Menasha; 2 sons: Ken (Betty) Bobb, Branch and Larry (Lucy) Bobb, Knoxville, TN; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Irene (Bob) Krieg, Neenah and Celene (Jim) Stilp, Winchester; many other relatives and friends.
    Dorothy was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Robert Piette Caron and Clayton (Rose) Caron; 2 sisters: Isabelle (Ken) Springborn and Joanne (Burt) Post.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with John McFadden officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made for Alzheimer's research.

    Ralph De Decker, age 82, of Appleton, passed away at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton, with his family surrounding him on December 18, 2007. Ralph was born on January 5, 1925, in Appleton, to the late Louis and Ada De Decker. He married Priscilla Hamer on September 30, 1944, in Appleton; she preceded him in death on December 6, 2007. Ralph was a 1943 graduate of Appleton High School and proudly served his country as a commissioned navigator in the Air Force during World War II. He was a wire weaver at Appleton Wire Works for 14 years; he later owned and operated a Servicemaster firm for over 44 years. Ralph was active in his church, an enthusiastic supporter of ACES and a member of the steering committee that founded Xavier Catholic High School. He was also active with community service organizations, including the Serra Club, Kiwanis Club of Northside Appleton, Columbus Club and the Right to Life Chapter. Ralph was an active member of the Appleton Chamber of Commerce, serving on the State Legislative Committee in 1969 and on the Chamber's Educational Committee in 1969 and 1970. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Appleton Golden Age Club, he participated in the fundraising efforts for the expansion of the Golden Age Clubhouse along with other projects of the Golden Agers. He also worked on fund drives for the Community Fund, Cystic Fibrosis, and Heart Fund, to name a few. A past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 4802 of Appleton, he served as chairman of various committees in that organization before advancing through the chairs to the position of Grand Knight. Ralph enjoyed fishing, bowling and caring for his apple trees.
    Survivors include his ten children, his 28 grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; and his two brothers.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, a grandson and a granddaughter.
    The Funeral Liturgy will be at NOON Friday, December 28, 2007, at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton, with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday, December 28, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. John Swanson, Fr. Thomas J. Farrell, the staff at ThedaCare at Home Hospice (especially Amy) and the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice for their loving care. A memorial has been established in Ralph's name.

    Clifford F. Shebilske, 85, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Brewster Village, Appleton where he had been a resident for many years. He was born on December 20, 1925 in Appleton; son of the late Joseph and Louise (De Decker) Shebilske. Cliff graduated from Appleton High School. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, ice hockey and singing.
    Cliff is survived by his sisters, Arlene Huelsbeck and Helen Ornstein; brother, James; sister-in-law, Eileen Shebilske and by many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his brothers, Le Land, Orville (Jeanne) and Lawrence.
    A service for Cliff will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brewster Village Chapel, 3300 W. Brewster St., Appleton. Family and friends may visit at the chapel on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Appleton.

    Carol J. Rusch, Appleton, 76, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Franciscan Care Center in Appleton. Carol was born Sept. 21, 1930, to the late Fred and Hulda Piette and has resided in Appleton all of her life. She was united in marriage to Norbert "Nubs" Rusch on July 15, 1950. Carol and "Nubs" along with their three sons, Tim, "Duke" and Craig, established Rusch's Kimberly Bowl in 1979. Carol retired from Rusch's in 1998.
    Throughout her life, Carol enjoyed playing cards, traveling on road trips, spending time at their cottage on Roberts Lake, doting on her grandchildren and being a constant in her three son's lives. Carol was a lifelong member at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton.
    Carol will be sadly missed by her three sons, Timothy (Tracey) Rusch, Appleton; Guy "Duke" and his partner Annie Bain along with her children, Ashley and Nick, Appleton; and Craig Rusch, Appleton; four grandchildren, Rachelle, Chris, Lindsay and Cale Rusch; three sisters-in-law, Ory Piette, Appleton; Evelyn Rusch, Kimberly; Judy (Jim) Gaevert, Sherwood; one brother-in-law, Roland (Carol) Rusch Jr., Sherwood; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
    Carol was the last survivor of a unique and successful generation of Piette brothers and sisters.
    In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert "Nubs" Rusch; brothers, Lester "Bud," Alfred, Stanley "Dan" and infant brother, Roy Piette; her sisters, Ruth Zoelk, Stella Martin, Alice Wheeler and Jane Schmidt; along with their spouses; her in-laws, Roland and Geneva Rusch Sr.; sister-in-law, Patricia (Dale) Olson; and brother-in-law, Royal Swick.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida Street, Appleton, with Pastor Wendy Wirth-Brock officiating.     Mrs. Beverly A. Hayes, 79, Waupaca, Wis., passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Riverside Medical Center. Bev was born in Milwaukee, Wis. on Dec. 14, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Eleanor (Thelen) Piette. On Nov. 24, 1956, she married Dr. Frank T. Hayes at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bayview, Wis. Bev was a dedicated wife and mother and loved being surrounded by her many children, grandchildren, and pets. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community for over four decades, where she sang in the choir and served on many committees. She enjoyed traveling the world, camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and was an avid outdoorswoman. Bev enjoyed playing cards of all kinds with friends and family. She regularly volunteered with the Waupaca Red Cross Blood Drive. Bev worked as a Registered Nurse and Surgical Supervising Nurse in Milwaukee, Texas, Hawaii and at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. Bev and husband, Frank, wintered in Gulf Shores for many years, where she loved being near the ocean. Bev truly enjoyed the serenity of their home on Mirror Lake.
    She is survived by husband, Dr. Frank T.     Wayne Piette, 86, passed Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his home in Midland, Texas surrounded by family. He was born September 2, 1931 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Walter and Alma (Rehfeldt) Piette.
    Wayne served two years in the United States Army. He then attended the University of Wisconsin and received a Bachelor of Science in Geology. While in college, he met and married his bride, Ginny Knoche, almost 63 years ago. They moved to Houston in 1957 and then on to Midland in 1966. Wayne worked for various major oil companies in Houston and Midland before becoming a successful independent petroleum geologist.
    Wayne loved his family, faith, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was an avid reader and history buff. Wayne enjoyed maps, geography and planning adventurous trips for his wife and family throughout the years. He was active in St. Ann's Catholic Church and school and served 2 terms on the school board. He was a member of the AAPG and the West Texas Geological Society. He was also a member of the COM Aquatics club where he swam laps daily for the past 20 years. Wayne enjoyed many enriching friendships throughout his life.
    Wayne is survived by his wife, Ginny; daughters, Renee Richards (Guy), Suzanne Piette, Pam Logan (Brad), Nancy Piette, and Jennifer Boggs (Greg); grandchildren, Luke, Ashley and Shanon Richards, Jeremie Piette, Mallory Buck, Paul and David Logan, Dylan, Trey and Hannah Baker, and Danielle, Grace and Ben Boggs. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Krause; sisters-in-law, Mary and Rose Piette; brother-in-law, Tom Knoche (Marilyn); and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Russ, Carl, and Norb Piette, and his granddaughter, Kelsey Logan.
    Visitation will be Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home where the family will greet friends. The Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Ann's Catholic Church with a reception following. A private burial will take place before the funeral Mass.

    19, 1938, in Appleton to Lucille Barrett Mader and the late Charles C. Mader, Sr. He served his country in the United
    States Navy. Chuck married Leann Kohl in 1988. He was a salesman for Factory Motor Parts, Appleton, and spent his
    entire career in the automotive industry. Chuck began at Mader's Service Station and was later employed at
    Automotive Supply. He loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and camper. Chuck spent many
    weeks and weekends traveling and camping in his motorhome, with a particular fondness for Colorado and Montana.

    Michael Shebilske was welcomed into the arms of his Savior unexpectedly on June 3rd, 2012. Mike was born in Appleton on March 16, 1964 to Lawrence and Eileen Shebilske.
    Mike could often be found outside doing yard work, working on cars or enjoying a good laugh with one of our wonderful neighbors. He had a natural talent in woodworking that started when he was in junior in high school. After moving back to the Appleton area in 2003, he pursued woodworking on a more professional level. His handiwork can be seen in kitchens, bedrooms, dens, and the list goes on. Mike's talents were not limited to woodworking; he had his master's degree in computer science and worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories/Lucent Technologies as a software developer for 14 years. Last year Mike decided to get back into the IT field and began teaching as an adjunct instructor at Rasmussen College in Appleton.
    Mike had a great love for his family. He was very active with his children by coaching Park and Rec. baseball, helping with Tech Squad, camping and fishing. He always was there to help others and his many skills will be greatly missed. Mike will be forever missed by his wife, Lori, his children, Ashley (Alex) Salmon, Jason and Jacob. Mike recently welcomed his first grandchild, Lydia Rose Salmon into this world on May 30th. He only got to hold her for a short time, but will forever be in her heart. Mike is also survived by his mother, Eileen, his brothers, Wayne (Joan), Gary (Diane), Kevin (Tina), Mark Shebilske and sister Sheila (Dennis) Gloede, his father and mother in law, Kenneth and Yvonne Klein, brother-in-laws, Kevin (Cindy) and Steve (Gretchen) Klein. He had numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence and his brother Steve.
    A funeral service for Mike will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at MOUNT OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 E. Florida Ave., Appleton with the Rev. Joel Zank officiating. Family and friends may visit at Valley Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at the church from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Dale Union Cemetery.     A special thanks goes out to his neighbors who were always there for him, even at the end. He will miss the outdoor activities and an occasional game of cards with special friends, Joe and Traci Loftus.

    Charles "Chuck" Piette, 66, of Hortonville died Monday, February 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by family after a short, but difficult battle with CJD. Chuck was born on February 23, 1950 in Appleton. He was the son of Lester & Adeline (Becher) Piette. Chuck grew up in Grand Chute and graduated from Appleton West High School in 1968. Chuck graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a business degree in 1972. After college Chuck began working in the family construction business.
    Chuck married JoAnn (Ditter) on May 15, 1976 at Holy Trinity in Jericho. In 1979 Chuck started building their house with his parents and JoAnn in the Hortonville area, coming to the house everyday after work and weekends.
    He enjoyed coaching his daughters' softball teams at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic grade school and summer youth programs. Chuck and JoAnn developed many wonderful and lasting friendships with other parents through their daughters' schools and sports activities.
    Chuck was a great craftsman and worked for years with his dad and then his brother before starting his own construction business. He spent the last part of his career sharing his talents and skills at Home Depot where he developed many lasting friendships there that he cherished so much.
    Chuck had many hobbies and interests from football, traveling, gardening and antiquing. Chuck looked forward to every fall for Badger football games - a memory of his college days. Not only was he a devoted fan of the football team, but he was a huge follower of the UW marching band fan and attended all the pre-game rallies.
    Chuck loved to travel and be on the road. He took many family vacation trips, traveled to almost all the National Parks and all lower 48 states and always ventured off the beaten path to find amazing attractions. Chuck traveled near and far for antiques, a passion he inherited from his mother and sister.
    Chuck loved being outdoors, whether in his boat on the water or in the backyard. He shared a lifelong love of fishing with friends and family over the years, and always looked forward to four-wheeling trips with his brother. When he wasn't traveling you could find Chuck in his yard, planting trees and designing flower beds with day lilies and hostas. A lasting memory will always be of Chuck riding through the yard on his lawnmower.
    Memories of Chuck will live on through his wife JoAnn as she continues gardening; his two daughters as they continue his love of traveling and fixing up their homes; his nieces and nephews as Uncle Laughs-A-Lot, who brought out his great sense of humor and contagious laughter; his high school friends for old stories and decades of friendship; his work friends through the projects they worked on together. Chuck's friendships he has made over the years are all so special. He's been a great friend to many people.
    Chuck will be missed for his curiosity about the world he explored, his limitless carpentry talents, a generous spirit who would help anyone out at a moment's notice, a man who could not say no to a blue polo shirt, a great friend, a wonderful uncle, father and husband.
    JoAnn would like to thank all those who visited, prayed and supported Chuck and our family, Jennifer and Michelle for being home every weekend and taking Chuck on the RV trip of a lifetime, his brother and sister who have been so supportive of him his whole life and especially the last few months, the home caregivers and nurses who took great care of Chuck and made sure he was always happy, comfortable and fed.
    Chuck is survived by his wife JoAnn of 40 years; two daughters Jennifer Piette of Chicago, Michelle Piette (Steve) of Chicago. His brother Robert Piette (Sharon), Shiocton; Eileen Behm (Gordon), Grand Chute. His nieces and nephews Jolie Abitz (Kevin), Greg Moen (Lynn), Gretchen Hrubes (Al), Bryan Moen (Alisha), and Rick, Randy, Renee and Robin; and many brother and sister in-laws and nieces and nephews.
    He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard Piette.
    Funeral mass for Chuck will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hortonville with Rev. Msgr. James Feely and Parish Director, Greg Layton officiating. Visitation will be held the Borchardt Moder Funeral Home, Hortonville on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and also on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.     Obituary:
    Joel Allen Schomisch, age 43, of Black Creek, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. Joel was born on March 15, 1970, son of Steve and Pat Schomisch. He graduated from Appleton East High School where he enjoyed playing baseball. After high school, he started his career as a tow truck driver. Joel was also an avid Wisconsin sports fan, supporting the Brewers, the Packers and the Badgers.
    Joel is survived by his parents, Steve and Pat Schomisch; his brother Ryan (Brandi) Schomisch along with their children Shayleen and Ryan Jr. He will also be missed by his constant companion Oreo the dog; his aunts and uncles, Marlene Gorman, Jo-Ann (Ralph) Neumann, Gene (Dona) Wheeler, Sharon Muncey and Shirley (Dave) Zak. He is further survived by cousins, other relatives and friends.
    Joel was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Loran and Alice Wheeler and his paternal grandparents, Wallace and Bernice Schomisch. He was also preceded in death by his uncles Virgil Gorman and Jim Muncey as well as his cousin Randy Neumann.
    A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at ST. JOHN UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST (1130 W Marquette St. APPLETON) with Rev. Dr. Tom Fritz and Ms. Connie Perry, LLM, officiating. A time for gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
    The Schomisch family would like to thank Dr. Mortara and Dr. Swanson for their care. They would also like to thank the staff and nurses at Cherry Meadows Hospice. We would like to thank Lois Herrmann for her daily cards and inspirations to all of us.
