    Edgar H. Hopfensperger, age 6 8, died Wednesday morning at his home. He was born August 21st, 1925 in K imberly, the son of the late Matthew and Valeska (Stommel) Hopfensperge r. He married Irene Dorsey on July 12th, 1946 in Appleton. Edgar was emp loyed with American Can Corp. and retired to Winneconne in 1990. He w as a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne. He is survived by h is wife, Irene, of Winneconne, a son, Stephen Hopfensperger, of Cerus Cali f., three daughters and two sons in law, Patricia Engelmann of Santa Ro sa California Jesse and Tim Gill, of Tyler Texas, and Diane and Chuck Stew art, of Modesto Calif., four brothers, Craig, of Wrightstown, Carl, of Ind iana, Elwood, of Appleton and Jim of Black Creek, seven sisters, Eugenia H offman, of Appleton, Ernesta Wysocki, of Milwaukee, Geneva Hanges, of Appl eton, Charlotte, Guckenberg, of Appleton; Donna Bouressa, of Green Bay, Ra netta Voight, of Neenah, and Sharon Hopfensperger, of Menasha, eight grand children. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Muell er funeral Home in Winneconne with Rev. Leroy Smet officiating. Burial wi ll be in the Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson California. Friends may ca ll at the numerous Mueller funeral home on Sunday from 12 noon until the t ime of services. Irene would especially like to thank the visiting nur se Association of Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh and Dr. Donald H. McDona ld and his office staff of Winneconne for all their kindness and considera tion shown to Edgar over this past year.

    Geneva T. Hanges, age 79, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born February 16, 1929, to the late Mathias and Valesca (Stommel) Hopfensperger, in Darboy and had been an area resident all of her life. Geneva loved flowers and was a long time florist at Kimberly Flowers and Reynebeau Floral. She married John J. Hanges on August 5, 1948.
    Geneva is survived by her children: Linda (Dale) Spoehr, Colorado Springs, CO; Jonathon (Chris) Hanges, Kimberly; Keith (Mary) Hanges, Darboy; Tina Ferro, Appleton: her grandchildren: Rebecca, Joseph, Michael, Joshua, Jessica, Jared, Emily, Adam and Courtney: her great-grandchildren: Thomas, Patrick, Dominick, Kalaeb, Shjon, Lain and Kali.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Hanges, September 2, 2007.
    Funeral services for Geneva will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009, at the funeral home with Reverend Kurt Kovanan officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.     Obituary:
    A special, loving lady born on February 28, 1943, to Matt and Valesca (Stommel) Hopfensperger got her final prayer answered on October 28, 2016. Dealing with the ups and downs of cancer, she succumbed to her illness with very little notice. Her wish was to be in the comfort of her home to the end. Having her wish granted, she was active up to the last day doing what she loved to do - baking! Count yourself lucky if you were on the receiving end of one of her confections.
    Sharon worked for many years at Theda Clark Regional Hospital, along with several other jobs at the same time. In need of a "new" kidney, her close friend, Maggie Ulrich, stepped up and provided Sharon that luxury. After retiring, she managed to keep herself very busy by volunteering and acquired friends that she affectionately called the "A Team." She took great pride in her home and neighbors, especially Jack and Mike Burns. She maintained friendships from grade school, relishing the fact she was in communication with them often. Sharon never forgot a birthday or anniversary; a card from her was always in the mailbox a day or two before. She spent hours picking out greeting cards to find just the right one. Above all, she loved her God, her parents, and her family. Heaven is lucky to have received a gem like her.
    She leaves behind her siblings Carl (Caroline) Hopfensperger, Charlotte Guckenberger, Donna (Joe) Bouressa, James (Joyce) Hopfensperger; sisters in-law Bonnie and Joan; too many nieces and nephews to list which includes a select few she adored: Nancy Welhouse, Deb Hopfensperger, Jesse (Tim) Gill, Terri (David Thiesen) Bouressa, and Vicki (Chuck) Sahr; friends Marge Doty, Linda Zeininger, Joyce Slowatyniec and Betty Nowack. She was greeted on the other side by her parents, her sisters Eugenia (John) Hoffman, Ernesta (Art) Wysocki, Geneva (John) Hanges, Ranetta (Bob) Voigt; her bothers Edgar (Irene), Elwood (Joan), Matt and Gregory; brother in-law Anthony Guckenberger; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
    Visitation for Sharon will be on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Homes, Superior Street Location. Catholic Funeral Service will be at the funeral home following the visitation at 7:00pm with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. Interment with be at Holy Name Cemetery in Darboy at a later date.     Sue Clavers, age 57, of 1017 Golf View Drive, Brillion, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 12, 2009. Sue was born in Appleton on April 23, 1951, daughter of Gladys (Miller) Hopfensperger and the late Gregory Hopfensperger. She married Kevin Clavers on September 8, 1978, in Askeaton. Sue worked for over 20 years at Target in the Fox River Mall. She liked to bowl, read, do puzzles, and she loved her grandsons.
    She was a member of Holy Family Parish, The Christian Mothers, and the church choir.
    She is survived by her husband, Kevin; her children; Christopher, U.S. Army, Iraq; Kelly Trepanier (special friend Kyle), Brillion; Sarah, Brillion; and Sue's grandsons, Taylor and Caden Trepanier. She is also survived by her mother, Gladys Hopfensperger of De Pere; four brothers and four sisters: Gregory "Butch" (Kathy) Hopfensperger, Wayside; Frank (special friend Pat) Hopfensperger, Kaukauna; Leo (Judy) Hopfensperger, Ogdensburg; Robert Hopfensperger, Menasha; Helen Hopfensperger, De Pere; Julie Getlinger, Pine River; Lou Ann (Mark) Binsfeld, DePere; and Karen Quella, Brillion. She is further survived by her step-mother, Bonnie Hopfensperger, Brillion; and half-sisters: Michelle, Melissa, Mindy, and Megan; several aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends; and her Target family.
    She was preceded in death by her father and two sisters, Rose and Dorothy.
    Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2009, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion with Fr. Phillip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Brillion. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion on Sunday from 4-8 p.m., and then again at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

    Karen Lynn Quella, age 54 of Kaukauna, died July 3, 2015 in the Town of Harrison.
    Karen was born March 9, 1961 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Gregory Hopfensperger and Gladys Hopfensperger. She was a graduate of Wrightstown High School, class of 1979. Karen worked at the Fox Valley Auto Auction for many years but most recently was employed at the Ariens Company. Karen enjoyed bingo and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

    Kimberly - Jonathan Michael "Mike" Hanges, age 65, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018. He was born in Appleton on November 22, 1952 to the late John and Geneva (Hopfensperger) Hanges. Mike married Christine Locke on November 18, 1972 at Faith Lutheran Church in Appleton. He served for 8 years in the U.S. Air Force. Mike worked as an Outagamie County 911 dispatcher for 35 years, until his retirement in 2013. He bowled in his younger years and loved Corvettes. Mike also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
    Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years, Chris; children: Joshua (Jaclynn), Jessica (Matthew) Lancaster and Jared, all of Appleton; grandchildren: Shjon, Lain, Kali and Kloie Hanges; and siblings: Linda (Dale) Spoehr, Keith (Mary) Hanges and Tina Hanges. His is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Chad E. Welhouse, age 38, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous five year battle with lung cancer on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. He was born on January 15, 1975, to Dennis and Nancy Welhouse and resided in Hollandtown. Chad graduated from UW- Oshkosh in 1997 and worked for fifteen years as a facility manager at RR Donnely (Banta). He loved baseball his entire life and greatly enjoyed coaching his children's T-ball and Little League teams. Chad also loved snowmobiling with family and friends, and spending time cheering for the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. He spent countless hours playing baseball and softball with close friends and teammates. No matter what he did, Chad worked and played hard and never gave up. What he loved doing most of all was spending time with his family. Chad touched so many lives in so many ways, and he will be truly missed.

Chad was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Jean Hoffmann; paternal grandparents, Ed (Ardene) and Ursula Welhouse; uncle, William Hoffmann; nephew, Nicholas Kohls; and niece, Emma O'Connell.
    Funeral liturgy for Chad will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at ST. KATHERINE DREXEL / ST. FRANCIS CHURCH, 433 County CE, Hollandtown, with Fr. Willard Van De Loo officiating. A time of visitation will be held at church on Friday, October 11, 2013, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with at prayer service at 8:00 p.m. An additional time of visitation will be held at church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Chad's loving memory are appreciated.
    Special thanks to Dr. Gunther and the nurses at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology and Thedacare Hospice for all of their compassionate care.
