    Gertrude Wacker - William Albrecht Family Gertrude Wacker was the oldest child of Louis Wacker who was born at St. M ary's Ridge on July 24, 1873 and Mary Ewald obviously a younger sist er of the mother of Anna Willman Albrecht, who was born there on Nov 7, 1878. The other siblings present names are Anthony; Herman; Anna Kotten, Ros inz Butzler; Mary Kotten; Catherine Luieck; and Veronica Schroeder. Lou is Wacker's parents were Herman Wacker of Cologne, Germany, and Gertrude S travelt of Munster. Mary Ewald's parents were Anthony and Anna Ewald fr om Hosfelt, Germany. Gertrude and William wer married at St. Mary's Rid ge on Nov 22, 1921 by Father Thill with Anthony Wacker and Hildegarde Albr echt as witnesses. They resided both in Monroe and in Iowa Counties.

    Anna C. Kotten, 98, of Norwalk passed to her eternal rest on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center in Sparta, Wis.
    She was born Feb. 14, 1906, to Lewis and Mary (Ewelt) Wacker on St. Mary's Ridge, rural Norwalk. On May 16, 1926, she married Hugo Kotten at the St. Mary's Ridge Catholic Church.
    Anna was recently featured in the February 2004 Monroe County Senior Sampler. Her life was chronologically reviewed from childhood, school days at the Catholic school on St. Mary's Ridge, her marriage, the birth of five children and all the challenges of being a farm wife and mother. In addition, other jobs included work at the tobacco plants in Cashton, Wis., and Sparta, Tillman Produce in Wilton, Wis., and later retiring at age 83 from Kotten Enterprises in Norwalk. Anna was a highly skilled seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, bingo and playing cards. Family and religion were always an important part of Anna's life and are her legacy to those who will sadly miss her.
    She is survived by four children, Arleen (John) Andringa of Morton, Wash.; Janice (James) Freit of Bangor, Wis., Vernie ( Sandy) Kotten of Kenosha, Wis., and Alice (Harland) Ruhland of Plain, Wis.; one sister, Veronica Schroeder; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; plus many other relatives and friends.
    Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Hugo, in 1991; her parents, Lewis and Mary; one son, Charles, in 1997; brothers and sisters, Gertrude Albricht, Herman Wacker, Anton Wacker, Rosina Butzler, Mary Kotten and Catherine Lueck; one grandchild and one great-great grandchild.
    A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Norwalk. The Rev. Eric Berns will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are invited for visitation on from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Aug. 12, at the church, with a rosary prayer service at 6:45 p.m., and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. Online condolences are available at www.torkelsonpagesmith.com. The Torkelson Page-Smith Funeral Home in Norwalk is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Veronica Schroeder, age 89, of Norwalk, WI. Passed away on Apr 15, 2005 Veronica Schroeder, age 89, of Norwalk, Wisconsin, passed away on Frida y, April 15, 2005, at Close to Home in Tomah. She was born on June 11, 191 5, to Lewis and Mary (Ewelt) Wacker on St. Mary's Ridge. She attended S t. Mary's Ridge School. Veronica was united in marriage to Sylvester "Shiv ic" Schroeder on June 19, 1935 at St. Mary's Ridge. Together they mov ed to Norwalk in 1958.
    She worked for the Jelco Bus Company for many years and then at Rolling Hi lls Nursing Home from 1969 until her retirement in 1980. She loved her j ob and took a lot of pride and joy in being a Nursing Assistant. Veroni ca was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church and loved singing in t he choir. She belonged to the Norwalk Senior Citizens and to the Communi ty Action Program. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, crocheting, quilt ma king, knitting, gardening, doing word puzzles, reading and was a good Germ an cook. Veronica was the youngest and last surviving child of Lewis and M ary. She was the Matriarch of her family; she instilled ethics, hard wo rk and good parenting in all of the generations.She is survived by her three children, a son, Roger (Donna Crocker) Schroe der and their children, Debbie Westlie and her children, Tegan and Tany a, Mark Schroeder and his children, Jeremy, Jordan and Jackie, Daniel Schr oeder, Jeffrey Schroeder and his children Sammi Jo and Damon, Lynn McKee th and her children, Carlynn, Taryn, Caden and Mattea, Lori Derginer and h er children, Taylor, Bradi and Landon, Michelle Schwier and her childre n, Jessica, Lee and Angela.a son, Gerald (Bonnie Brohmer) Schroeder and th eir children, Michael Schroeder and his children, Maverick, Montana, Marc us and Mitchell and Bobby John Schroeder, a daughter, Donna Mae (Gary) Cla rk and their children, Adam Clark and his children, Joshua, Sydney and Max well, Nicole Slavish and her children, Jacob, Zachary and Allison; niece s, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mary; her husband, Syl vester; brothers and sisters, Gertrude Albrecht, Herman Wacker, Antone Wac ker, Anna Kotten, Rosina Butzler, Mary Kotten and Catherine Lueck.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2005, 11: 00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Norwalk.
