    Margaret Kempen, 87, Margaret Ann Kempen, 87, Kennan, died Sept. 25, 2006, at Ladysmith Nursing Home in Ladysmith.
    She was born Nov. 10, 1918, in Kennan, the daughter of John and Mary Weyers. She was married to Louis Kempen on April 20, 1938, in Kennan. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Catawba, and had served as president of the Altar Society. She was a licensed cheese maker and worked for a number of years with Louis making cheese. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, social events, baking and really enjoyed playing cards.
    She is survived by five sons, John, Nenana, Alaska; Kenneth (Ruth), Waukesha; David (Denise), Kennan; Daniel (Sue), Bruce; and Lee (Merry), Pewaukee; by five daughters, Lorraine (Harold) Mustard, Irma; Diane (Larry) Peroutka, Neenah; Carol (Merv) Rafko, Hubertus; Ann (George) Kruppe, Hartland; and Pat (Rick) Vollendorf, Hawkins; by 41 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Louis on Dec. 2, 2000; by two infant sons, Louis and Wilbert; by one grandson Kyle Kempen; by five sisters, Clara Weyers, Martha Kurth, Agatha Kurth, Cecilia Kerkhoff, and infant Mary; and by seven brothers, Bill, Ben, Leo, Joe, Frank, Ray and infant Henry.
    Funeral services were held Sept. 30 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Catawba, with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the funeral Mass. Interment was in Kennan Cemetery.
    The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, assisted the family with arrangements.

    Charles Weyers Hortonville - Age 77, of Iola, formerly of Hortonville, died Friday December 29, 2017. He was born in June of 1940, son of the late William & Clara (Kempen) Weyers. On June 14, 1991, he was united in marriage to Sharon Freeman (McConnell) at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Stephensville. Chuck graduated from UW Whitewater with a Business Degree and worked as an auditor for Bendix Corp. and then as an accountant for Mercy Medical Center for 29 years. He had a strong financial mind and was very good at solving business problems. Chuck loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and telling stories. He adored his family and will be greatly missed.
    He is survived by his wife, Sharon. Daughter, Julie (John) Last, Oshkosh. Grandchildren Megan and Keon. Siblings, Bev Sommers, Arnold (Mary) Weyers, Mary Lou Murphy, all of Hortonville. Sister-in-law, Pat Weyers, Fremont; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Billie Jean (Bill) Parks, Pickett; Shirley (Greg) Merten, Oshkosh; Joy Elliott, Valrico, FL and Kathleen Eisch, Greenville. Also numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers, Norbert, John and Don, two brothers-in-law, Jim Sommers and Mike Murphy.
    The Funeral Mass for Chuck will be held at 11:00a.m. Thursday January 4, 2018 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville with Fr. James Jugenheimer officiating.     Shirley Ann VandenBerg, 73, Freedom, passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 12, 2008, following a short illness.
    She was born Feb. 18, 1935, in Kennan, Wis., daughter of the late Bernard and Clara (Ross) Weyers.
    Shirley was united in marriage to Marvin E. VandenBerg in Freedom on Sept. 1, 1953.
    She was a past member of the Christian Mothers at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. She also did volunteer work at Oconto Falls Community Memorial Hospital. Shirley enjoyed playing cards and games with family and friends. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time at her home on the lake.
    She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Marvin; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Daniel (Charlotte "Charlie") and their children, Sara, Jason (special friend, Lorrie), and Lisa (special friend, Sam); William (special friend, Lynn) and his children, Adam (Carol), Andy, and Amanda; David and his son Brad, all of Freedom; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ronald (Christine) Weyers, Robert (Donna) Weyers, Leonard Weyers, Lois (Don) Nollenberg. She is further survived by her husband's family, John "Jack" (Elaine) VandenBerg, Jack (Marilyn) Jahnke, Jerry (Sharon) Jahnke; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Weyers; and mother and father-in-law, Martin and Magdalene.
    The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Freedom, with Fr. Dave Hoffman and Deacon Don Newhouse co-officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna and again on Wednesday directly at Church from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in her name. 766-2099.

    Robert L. Weyers, 66, Plains, Mont., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, in his home from pancreatic cancer. Bob was born Sept. 18, 1941, in Price County Wis., to Ben and Clara Weyers. He graduated from Freedom High School in 1959 and married Donna Vande Hey on July 1, 1961, in Freedom, Wis. They moved to Missoula, Mont., in 1967. Bob's most recent favorite included time with grandchildren, fishing and raising longhorn cattle. Plains has been Bob's primary residence for the last 15 year while enjoying the winters in Yuma, Ariz.
    Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna, Plains, Mont.; daughter, Lisa Read and husband, David and children, Joshua, Brandon and Jessica; son, Dave and children, Wyatt and Jake, all of Plains, Mont.; son, Sam and wife, Julie, and children, Taylor and Trevor, Florence. He is also survived by two brothers, Len and Ron.

    In keeping with Bob's wishes, his body was donated to the WWAMI Body Donation Program through Montana State University for medical education.

    Leonard "Len" Weyers, 66, Kimberly, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Appleton Medical Center. Len was born on March 17, 1945, to Bernard and Clara (Ross) Weyers.
    He worked at Appleton Papers until his retirement and enjoyed traveling and the Packers. Len and his fishing buddies went to Canada on fishing trips for over 20 years. He also had a camper in Maple Heights Campground in Lakewood, where he enjoyed spending time. He loved to play cribbage and had a perfect hand once. Len liked to cook and always had his family over on Christmas Eve. He loved his pets, Tigger and KC, and collected Anheuser Busch memorabilia.
    Len is survived by his brother, Ron (Christine) Weyers, Fremont; a brother-in-law, Marvin Vanden Berg, Freedom; sisters-in-law, Donna Weyers, Plains, Mont.; and Lois Nollenberg, Shiocton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Len was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Richard Weyers, Shirley Vanden Berg and Robert Weyers; and a nephew, Bill Vanden Berg.
    A memorial service for Len will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011, at the JANSEN FARGO FUNERAL HOME at 7:30 p.m. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly.

    Louis M. Weyers, 73 of Greenville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Thursday December 24, 2015 at Theda Clark Medical Center, with his family by his side.
    He was born February 26, 1942 in Prentice, WI, son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Kempen) Weyers. Louis married Sherry Miller on September 18, 1971.
    Louis served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for Schneider Transportation as a long haul Truck driver for 33 years, retiring in 2003. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Greenville. Faith was an important part of his life. He was a member of the Hammond-Schmidt Post #55 of the American Legion, Hortonville, Am Vets post # 30, and a past member of the Broken Wheels Riding Club, Rodeo City Riders, and the Wisconsin Roping Association. Louis was co-owner of Coyotes Western Shop, Greenville. He enjoyed roping and riding his horses. His greatest joy came from his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
    Louis is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sherry; His two children: son, Joshua (Penny), Freedom; and daughter, Kristine(John) Spiegelberg, Greenville; four grandchildren, Colton and Colbi Spiegelberg, and Beau and Lucy Weyers; a brother, Larry (Bea), Black Creek; two sisters, Mary (Jerry) Gladowski, Menasha, and Delores (Joe) Van Boxtel, MI; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his long time friend, Lee Lathrope, Appleton. Louis was further preceded in death by a brother, Sylvester.
    Visitation for Louis will be held Monday evening, December 28, 2015, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, W7265 School Rd, Greenville. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning at the church from 9:30 until 10:30 AM, with the Funeral Service at 11:00AM, with Rev. John Qualmann officiating. Full Military honors will follow. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

    Freedom - Jerry C. Vissers, age 73, of Freedom, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, August 16, 2018. Jerry was born on March 19, 1945 son of the late Cornelius and Catherine (Chmela) Vissers. He loved his work as an Operating Engineer with Calnin and Goss and was a proud member of Operating Engineer Local 139. Jerry was also a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. He is survived by his wife Janet, his children, Todd and Bruce Vissers, Darla Schommer (Dale Dausey), Dana (Jeff) Burkhart and Darin Dietz. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryli, Tara, Justin, Danielle, Derek, Kody and Kala, 4 great-grandchildren a brother-in-law, Jim (Louise) Alsteen, sister's-in-law, Cleo Mayo and Judy Schmidt, cousins, aunts and uncles and his best buddy, Marshall. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and brother's-in-law, Clem Alsteen and Francis Schmidt.

    Robert P. "Bob" Pennenberg, 76, De Pere, passed away November 10, 2016 at home. The son of Raymond and Vanita (Kamps) Pennenberg was born May 4, 1940. He married Judith "Judy" Baril on June 21, 1961. They raised nine children together.

    Bob graduated from Wrightstown High School in 1958 and spent his life as a dairy farmer. He was a man of deep faith who regularly attended Bible study. He enjoyed writing down and sharing his thoughts, playing cards, gardening and riding his scooter.

    Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. He was always putting others before himself, and he will be deeply missed.

    Bob is survived by his children; Ron (Cheryl) Pennenberg, Debbie (Rick) Martzhal, Chris (friend Leo) Pennenberg, Sue (Steve) Ley, Mike (Becke) Pennenberg, Mary Kneringer (friend Scott), Brian (Mary) Pennenberg, Dan (Tina) Pennenberg and Becky (fiancé Bob Noack) Pennenberg.
    He is further survived by his grandchildren, Corey, Tony and Jacole, Jamie, Jonathan, Jordan and Jackson, Kayla and Lily, Raelia, Noah and Isaiah, Ashley, Jesse and Kenny, Devon and Hanna, as well as Trinity.
    Twelve great-grandchildren; sister Diane (Gary) Gezella; Godchildren, Tara Krueger and Jasmine Gezella; and other family members and friends also survive.
    Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; parents, Raymond and Vanita; brothers, Don, Tom and Marlin, and many loved ones and friends.
    Family and friends may call at St. Clare Parish (Wrightstown Site), 437 Main St., Wrightstown, beginning at 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 13, 2016. A Prayer Service will take place at 7:00 PM.
    Visitation will continue at 9:00 AM on Monday morning, November 14, 2016. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial at St. Patrick Cemetery.

    William J. "Clyde" VandenBerg age 55, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 following a short illness at Appleton Medical Center. He was born January 31, 1956 son of Marvin and Shirley (Weyers) VandenBerg. William was employed by the Kimberly Paper Mill for 28 years. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, golfing, cooking, snowmobiling, boating, tubing with family and friends, going up north, sitting by the fire, and going to Packer games. Bill had a marvelous sense of humor and enjoyed laughter and good times.
    He is survived by his children: Adam (Carol), Little Chute, Andy, Appleton, and Amanda "Rosie", Freedom; his father, Marvin, Pound; 2 brothers: Dan (Charlie) and Dave. His is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
    He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Ann, and numerous uncles.
    Funeral Services for William will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, August 15, 2011, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Freedom with Fr. Dave Hoffman officiating. Friends will be received at church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established. She was born on May 16, 1956 to George and Caroline (Mroczynski) Vissers and resided in Menasha. Joan married Joe Damie on May 6, 1989 and enjoyed 28 years together. She always had a strong faith and was a member at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. Joan enjoyed skiing, golfing, camping trips up north, and spending time by the campfire. She was a very talented artist with a heart of gold. Joan always had a positive attitude and was a joy to be around. She was loved dearly by her family and will be missed greatly.
    Joan is survived by her husband Joe Damie; mother Carol Vissers; brothers Jeff (Lori) Vissers, Travis (Stacey) Vissers; sisters Sally Vissers, Crystal (Paul) Hansen, Cindy (Paul) Tassoul; mother-in-law Margaret Damie; and sister-in-law Cathy (Mark) Jung. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her father George Vissers and father-in-law John Damie.

    Christopher Terence DuFrane, Age 25, of Hortonville, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born on December 26, 1988 in Appleton, son of Terence and Christine (Murphy) DuFrane who survive him. He is also survived by his siblings: Mike (Jillian) DuFrane; Alyson DuFrane and her fiance Dustin Schroeder; maternal grandmother: Mary Lou Murphy; paternal grandparents: Roger and Barb DuFrane; a nephew and niece: Jordy DuFrane and Reese DuFrane. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mike Murphy, and uncle, Pat Van Alstine.
    The Funeral Mass for Christopher will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville with Rev. Msgr. Jim Feely and Parish Director Greg Layton officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A visitation for Christopher will be held directly at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass.
    The family would like to thank the numerous people who were involved in Christopher's life over the years who gave wonderful care to him. We greatly appreciate all you have done.
    Chrissy, You are such a wo derful gift to our family. You taught us how to love and made us all better people. You will be greatly missed.

    Joel "Buck" Marsh, 25, of Seymour passed away Tuesday evening, November 22, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital, due to respitory complications. He was born February 27, 1986, son of Curt and Deb (Van Boxtel) Marsh.
    He was a 2004 graduate from Seymour High School and a graduate of Michigan Tech with a degree in electrical engineering and business. He was presently employed at Jacobs Engineering in Green Bay. Joel enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and was a real craftsman. He enjoyed "going up north" and the many good times with family and friends.
    Survivors include his parents, Curt and Deb; sister, Alyce Marsh, all of Seymour; maternal grandparents: John Sr. and Dorothy Van Boxtel, Oneida; paternal grandparents: Jack and June Marsh, Seymour; aunts and uncles and many friends
    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 1PM until a service of remembrance at 8:00 PM (Joel's request would be to attend with casual attire) with Deacon Bobby Doxtator officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com
    A special thank you to Seymour Rescue and St. Mary's Hospital ICU for giving us some extra days to be with Joel.
    Joel, you will be in our hearts forever because of your courage, selflessness and through the kind acts of others. You were an inspiration to all and will never be forgotten.
