    Green Bay Press Gazette ; Posted February 18, 2006 ; Kersten, Irv in W.Irvin W. Kersten, 91, Green Bay, died peacefully on Feb. 15, 2006, at a lo cal hospital with family by his side. Born on Sept. 9, 1914, he is the s on of the late Henry and Nellie (Kempen) Kersten. On Nov. 25, 1941, he mar ried the former Coletta Schauer at SS. Peter & Paul Church, and she preced ed him in death on June 10, 2005. Irvin served in the Army during World W ar II. He worked for Northern Paper Mills until his retirement in 1976. Ir vin enjoyed gardening, spending winters in Mesa, Ariz., and making wine.Irvin is survived by two loving daughters, Helen (Roger) Mleziva, Pilse n; June (William) Groeschel, Green Bay; 11 adoring grandchildren, Karen (J eremy) Parish, Michael (Tammy) Mleziva, Paul (Lona) Mleziva, Kathy (Jerem y) Noll, Anne (Kris) Gilley, Peter Mleziva, Jessica (Jeff) Lenz, Scott Aim ers, Nicholas Groeschel, Katie Groeschel, and Joseph Groeschel; six great- grandchildren; one brother, Peter Kersten, Green Bay; one sister, Josephi ne Roder, Green Bay; one sister-in-law, Irene Kersten, Green Bay; other re latives and friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, Coletta; two brothers, Norbert and J ohn Kersten; one brother-in-law, George Roder; one sister-in-law, Florenc e.Visitation at MALCORE Funeral Home, University Avenue at Baird Street, Sun day, from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Visitati on will continue Monday until the time of the funeral. Funeral 10:30 a. m. Monday at SS. Peter & Paul with Msgr. Roy Klister officiating. Buri al at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
    The family would like to extend a special thanks to the 4th floor nurs es in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at St. Vincent hospital for their spec ial care.
