He married on the 24th of July 1940 with Maria Faassen (bo rn on the 8th of January 1914 and died on August 23th 1999 in Plasmolen, H olland). They got seven children. My grandfather died on 23 March 19 95 in Boxmeer, Holland.My grandfather lived in the US till 1934. Then he went back to Holland wi th his mother and stayed there. He married in Holland. His brother Jacob s tayed in the US and married there. His wife is still living. I think she t urned 95 this summer. On June 22, 1937, she married Rich ard T. Bongers in Kimberly; he preceded her in death on February 4, 199 9. Marie enjoyed caring for her flower garden and watching the birds ne st in her yard each spring.. She loved spending time near the water at t he family cottage at Lake Poygan, and many will remember Marie as bei ng an avid reader.
Marie is survived by two daughters: Joanne (Ronald) Driessen of Little Chu te and Carmen (Bernie) Vedder of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; a son: Richa rd M. (Margot) Bongers of Appleton; four grandchildren: Debra Milheiser a nd her finace Shane Eisenman, Lori (Ed) Kalupa, Sara (Rick) Paitel, and Jo seph (Desiree) Bongers; eight great-grandchildren: Jonathon, Karrie, Melis sa, and Jennifer Milheiser; Benjamin and Amanda Kalupa; Elizabeth and Bria nna Paitel; a sister: Theresa (Don) Lamers of Florida; three sisters-in-la w: Laura Van Nuland of Milwaukee, Marie Van Nuland of Kimberly, and Nell ie Van Nuland of Kimberly. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, h er husband in 1999, and by four sisters and six brothers.
The funeral liturgy for Marie will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, May 2 9, 2001 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly w ith Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in the parish c emetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 10: 30 AM until the hour of the liturgy.

Theresa J. Lamers, age 86 of Sun Prairie, passed away in the comfort of her own home on May 3, 2013.
Theresa was born on September 19, 1926, to Henry and Johanna Van Nuland, the youngest of 12. She was united in marriage to Donald Lamers on August 31, 1948, in Kimberly, WI. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, walking, and golf.
Theresa is survived by her daughter, Gail (Lan) Waddell of Marshall, WI; her sons, Dean (Diana) Lamers of Combined Locks, WI; and Jay (Debra) Lamers of Kimberly; grandchildren, Sarah, Ben, Drew, Tina, Jamie, Rob, David, and Ashlee; great-grandchildren, Trent, Nora, and Miles; sister-in-law, Germaine Hietpas; and many nieces and nephews. Peter A. Van Krey, 77, of Kimberly, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 20, 2010. Peter was born on November 11, 1932, to the late Martin and Jane (Van Nuland) Van Krey. He married Gale Rohm on June 1, 1957. Pete was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1951 until 1955 as an apprentice electrician. He worked for 15 years at Kimberly-Clark before and after his time in the Navy. He then worked as an iron worker first at Asco-Hennes and then Boldt Construction until his retirement in 1994 and was a member of Iron Workers Union Local #8 and the American Legion. Pete was a Boy Scout leader for many years with his sons. He enjoyed camping, gardening, loved the outdoors and was known as "Mr. Fix-It" and liked working with his hands but most of all his family was most important to him. Pete was a hard-working, devoted husband, father and "Bumpa."
Pete is survived by his wife of 53 years Gale Van Krey; three children: Kathleen (Bruce) Sprangers, Kaukauna; Michael (Jennifer) Van Krey, Mundelein, IL; James (Fiancee Jamie) Van Krey, Appleton; six grandchildren: Shelly (Fiance Lucas), Thomas, Bradley, and Grace Sprangers and Kieran and Zoe Van Krey, his brothers: Harry, John (Shirley), Tony (Joan), Joe (Judy) Van Krey, brothers-in-law; Robert (Pat) Rohm, Frank Diehn, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joseph Martin Van Krey, age 76, passed on to eternal life from cancer at his home on Sunday, January 26, with his wife, Judy, and kids at his side.
Joe was born in Kimberly, the youngest son of the late Martin and Jane (Van Nuland) Van Krey. He graduated from Kimberly High School in 1956 and was employed at the Kimberly mill 21 years when he and his brother, Tony, opened Van Krey's Supper Club in Kimberly. Joe also managed the bar and restaurant areas of Appleton Yacht Club and Fox Valley Golf Club before his retirement in 2002. He was a lifelong member of Holy Spirit Church, an avid sports fan since high school, and especially loved the Packers. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He also loved his pets including his late dog, Bo, which supported him while healing from the death of his first wife, and most recently his cats, Babe and Mr. Taz which loved him through his own illness.
Joe will be greatly missed by his wife, Judy Willems-Van Krey, Kaukauna; daughter, Carla (Paul) Melanson, Kimberly; sons Dave (Jackie), Mayville; Marty (Debbie), Menasha; and Don (Missy) Van Krey, Appleton; step-children, Cyndi (Jim) Wizgird, Neenah; Wayne (special friend, Lisa) Willems, Weyauwega; and Theresa (Richard) Loughrin, Fremont. Appleton - Elizabeth Ann "Betty Ann" Van Nuland of Appleton, aged 72, formerly of West Bend WI, passed into the loving arms of her savior on Sunday, May 13, 2018 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Appleton WI to Jacob and Verena (nee Berghuis) Van Nuland. She was preceded in death by her precious parents, beloved brother Richard Van Nuland, and special in laws Florence Van Nuland and Philip Salzman.
Betty Ann graduated from Tigerton High school in 1963 and later attended University of Wisconsin - Washington County to study writing. She was an avid poet and writer of comedy. No one appreciated a joke or laugh like she did! Betty Ann loved serving older adults in her West Bend church St Mary's Immaculate Conception's Eucharistic Ministry program. Music, especially bluegrass, was a passion of hers and she often attended live concerts. Furthermore, she enjoyed being an active member of Washington County Musical Masquers for backstage, singing, and speaking roles. She was employed for 24 years with the Washington County print shop before retiring. Betty Ann served the AA and ACOA community for many years to help others help themselves through love and supportive acceptance. One of her biggest passions, however, was God's creation in nature and animal welfare. She prided herself on being a 'cat lady' as well as admiring wildlife through service projects and recreation. Betty Ann enjoyed spending time in parks looking for migratory birds and simply playing around, delighting in God's creation.
Betty Ann is survived by her loving daughters Lisa Fauster of Eagle WI (Andy Litkowiak), Shannon Kibler (Todd) of Clemmons NC, and Karen Ugarte (Martin) of Chicago IL; granddaughters Kellie Dossou Houegbe (Abraham-Arnaud) of Milwaukee WI and Sadie Coraline Kibler of Clemmons NC; and great grandsons Xacry and Jordan Meyer of Milwaukee WI. She also leaves behind her siblings who fiercely loved her and took kind care of her always, and especially in her final time: James Van Nuland, Joan and Donald Wetzel, Donald and Rita Zalewski, and RoseMary Salzman. She also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews and was a proud great aunt to many others.
Betty Ann's daughters would like to say a heartfelt and special thank you to their sweet Aunt Joan and Uncle Don Wetzel, and cousins Maria Davis and Ann Deckers for their selfless care of their sister and aunt in myriad ways during her illness.
A memorial service will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, May 30th, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald St., Appleton, with Father James Lucas officiating. Friends may visit at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 am until 10:45 am. On June 3, 1964, Marlene was united in marriage to Lyle Friebel at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Marlene had many jobs that she enjoyed greatly over the years, which include: Teaching classes for the Better Breathers Group and diabetes, providing therapy for Rheumatoid arthritis patients at St. Elizabeth Hospital (pool program), working for Curves of Little Chute and Kaukauna and driving school bus for Kobussen. In her free time, she enjoyed many years camping at Brady's Pine Grove Campground and several cottages throughout the years at Legend Lake, Long Lake and Mountain. She enjoyed playing cribbage, dominos and many card games with family and frequently with her lady friends. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics and playing bugle as a bugler for funerals. However, her greatest joy was being involved in all of her children and grandchildren's activities; including following her daughter and granddaughter and many race families for years on their motocross racing series.
In addition to her husband, Lyle, Marlene is also survived by her two children, Brian (Mindi) Friebel and Deana (special friend Dan Binder) Friebel; six grandchildren, Brandon (Krista) Friebel-Probst, Paige and Tanner "Red" Friebel, Tiffany (special friend Justin) Meyer, Stefanie Binder, and Michael (special friend Tiffany) Young; two great-grandchildren, Connor and McKenzie; three sisters, Elaine (Ron) Simpson, Donna Van Nuland and Judy (Rich) Leffel; two brothers-in-law, Ray Toonen and Merle (Donna) Friebel; three dogs, Freckles, Foxy and Fluffy; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rosanne Toonen; a brother, Robert VanNuland; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Friebel.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute, with Fr. James Hablewitz officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
"Pretty Momma's" family would like to thank all the staff at the St. Paul Home, the Intensive Care Unit staff at Appleton Medical Center, and the staff at Kindred Hospital for all their wonderful care and support. Donna Mae Van Nuland, 64, Little Chute, went into the loving arms of our Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2011. Donna was born on November 12, 1946, to Harry and Ethel (Bongers) Van Nuland. Over the years, Donna has worked at Sandies Cleaners, Jack's or Better, Tuckers, and currently at Rich's Baker's Outlet. One of Donna's greatest loves was Elvis Presley.
Donna is survived by two sisters: Elaine (Ron) Simpson and Judy (Rich) Leffel; 2 brothers-in-law: Ray Toonen and Lyle Friebel; many nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Roseanne Toonen and Marlene Friebel; a brother, Bob Van Nuland.

Ronald M. Van Nuland, age 53, beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at his home in Kimberly. Don was born on November 2, 1958 in Appleton, son of the late Marty and Nelly (Cops) Van Nuland. Don grew up in the Appleton area and graduated from Lawrence University. He worked for many years for Menasha Corporation, living in St. Louis and Fort Wayne, IN, before transferring back to the Appleton area. Throughout his career, he also worked for Eagle Supply and Plastics Corp., and more recently did independent consulting for several firms. Don was an extraordinary person, and touched the lives of those who knew him. He will be dearly missed, but his presence will be felt for a lifetime.
Don is survived by his two daughters, Danielle Van Nuland and Anna Van Nuland; his brother, Michael (Sue) Van Nuland; his sister, Sue (Mark) Waltman; his niece, Melissa Van Nuland; his nephew, Matthew Van Nuland; a special friend, Debbie Pierre; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. He is also survived by his former wife, Laura Denton. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marty and Nelly Van Nuland.
A Mass of Christial Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace St., Combined Locks, with Fr. Andrew Kysely officiating. Henry J. Van Nuland, found eternal peace on January 6, 2017, at the age of 64. He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Lynn Sprangers (Mike Gousha) of Fox Point, WI and Debra (Steve) Weber of Carmel, IN, his three loving nieces, Amber (Chris) Van Den Berg of Westfield, IN, Lindsay (Mike) Emer of Wauwatosa, WI and Shannon (Brendan) Kelly, Minneapolis, MN and his grandniece and grandnephew Avery and Tyson Van Den Berg. Henry also enjoyed the kindness and attention of many aunts, uncles and cousins from the Van Nuland and Cops families.
He was born on September 15, 1952, the oldest child of Joe and Dorothy (Cops) Van Nuland. He will be buried alongside his parents who will be the first to welcome him to his eternal home. While he lived with a significant developmental disability, Henry's life was filled with the love and care of so many. He grew up in Kimberly and the "Ann Street" kids were protective and inclusive whenever possible. Henry spent a short time at St. Coletta School (Jefferson, WI) and 30 years at Northern Wisconsin Center (Chippewa Falls, WI) before moving to Russert Court Group Home in 1994. He lived out his life there which gave him opportunities to attend performances at the Fox Cities PAC, take in a ballgame, and enjoy family reunions and car rides, especially when they ended in lunch or a stop for ice cream. Henry's life was much too short but he did more to help people appreciate their own good health and good fortune than he will ever know.
The family wishes to thank the Clarity Care staff at Russet Court; Dr. Jessica Johnston-Rickert and Dr. Thomas Rowell for their long-standing attention to Henry; and, the medical team at ThedaCare-Appleton, especially Dr. Ben Duffy, for their care in Henry's final days.
Funeral services for Henry will be at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton, with Deacon Bud Klister officiating. Marilyn Minten, age 79 of Combined Locks, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, December 19, 2016. Marilyn was born in Appleton on November 8, 1937, daughter of the late Joseph and Waltera (Van Nuland) Smits. On October 2 of 1958, she married Jerry Minten, and the couple was blessed with four children: Cindy (Tom) McMahon of Little Chute; Tracey (Paul) Van Hoof of Dexter, Michigan; Jeff (Deanna) Minten of Kimberly; and Brian (Cindy) Minten of Green Bay. Marilyn's grandchildren are Brad (Angie) McMahon, Jill (Tim) Verstegen, Tim (Megan) McMahon, Jacob Van Hoof, Morgan Van Hoof, Courtney Minten, Zachary Minten, Jordyn (Bradley) Frank, and Brianna (Scott) Van Haaster. Her great-grandchildren are: Layton, Taylor, and Bennett McMahon; Luke and Evie Verstegen; Elouise McMahon; Audey and Austyn Frank; Cooper Van Haaster, and one addition expected very soon! Marilyn is further survived by a sister: Janice (Ed) Fuhrman of Hazelhurst; a brother: Marvin (Carol) Smits of Appleton; three sisters-in-law: Joan Hammen of Combined Locks, Nancy (Clair) Bolwerk of Kimberly, and Janice Minten of Darboy; a brother-in-law: Dave (Carolyn) Minten of DePere; and an uncle: Cyril (Norma) Van Heeswyk of Arizona. For many years, Marilyn taught second grade religion at St. Paul School in Combined Locks. There she made some wonderful and lifelong friends. She enjoyed crafts such as ceramics and painting, reading, and shopping. In her younger years, the family spent time camping near Minocqua and an occasional visit to a casino, but after Jerry's retirement, the couple began to travel to Florida. One of her fondest memories was her trip to see Clay Aiken's concert – for sure she was a "Clay-mate"! Most of all, she was her grandkids' greatest supporter and biggest fan. She spent countless hours watching them play football, basketball, volleyball, and rugby or admire their ability to wrestle, run cross country, or dance. The grandkids loved it when she was in the audience. Marilyn was very proud of the fact that she got her driver's license at age 50 – no matter she didn't drive much anyway – she was proud to have gotten her license. Her nickname quickly became "Wheels" when she received her license. Each day, she looked forward to coffee and discussion with her dear friend, Alice Ahrens.
The funeral liturgy for Marilyn will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 23, 2016 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace Street in Combined Locks, with Fr. Andrew Kysely officiating. It is so fitting that Marilyn was called home to Jesus at Christmas time. It was her favorite time of year. Marilyn was not shy about gifts for the family. Each Christmas, parents needed to take the kids out for a drive to look at Christmas lights, just to buy grandma enough time to haul the many bags filled with presents downstairs and place them around the tree. She was proud of her Christmas Village, which she set up and lit up each Christmas. When the grandchildren were young, she loved to share the village with them. As the grandchildren got a bit older, they were permitted to help Marilyn set the village up – an event eagerly awaited by all. There's a famous song that includes the words "there's no place like home for the holidays….." This year, Marilyn really is HOME for the holidays and we will all miss her dearly.

John M. Van Nuland, age 73, ended his battle with cancer peacefully with his family and loved ones surrounding on the morning of Monday, May 05, 2014. He was born August 15, 1940 in Kimberly, Wisconsin, the son of Jacob and Rosalie (Richards) Van Nuland. John worked 37 years at Holy Name Parish as the Maintenance Supervisor and a darn good one.
He was a man with many talents he knew how to fix and build basically anything. John spent many hours helping others with building projects and countless hours in his basement woodworking. He enjoyed watching TV, having drinks on his deck with family, friends and his best furry friend Charlie. John enjoyed many summers up north on the water and sitting around the campfire. During the winter it was all about family snowmobiling. Traveling was a very big part of John's life and he felt there was nothing better than sitting by the pool or the beach having a drink and people watching. Can't forget where you would find John on Friday night at 4:00 P.M. front row parking spot in front of Heiting, with his barstool waiting, enjoying a Friday night fish fry with his friends.

She worked at McCain Foods for 25 years until her retirement. She liked her cats, dogs, and reading. Carol always looked forward to Friday night poker games with her family. Her family was the most important thing to her and the memories they shared will always be treasured.

Brian K. Friebel, age 50 of Suring, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 9, 2017 following a courageous and short battle with cancer. He was born on September 27, 1966 to Lyle and the late Marlene (Van Nuland) Friebel and was raised in Kaukauna, WI. Brian served his county in the United States Navy aboard the USS John F. Kennedy Aircraft Carrier from 1985 to 1988. He moved to the Suring area in 1997 where he met his future wife. On June 24, 2000, Brian was united in marriage to Mindi Audley at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc, WI. He was currently employed with KNT Fabrication until he became ill. Brian enjoyed driving his Harley-Davidson with his wife, Mindi, and special friends Steve and Michelle Heckl, Brian also enjoyed music, camping, fishing, utilizing his creativity (and perfectionism) in his shop at home, and playing Guitar Hero. Family, friends, and neighbors would spend time in the shop competing into the early morning hours.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Mindi; his children and grandchildren: Brandon (Krista) Friebel-Probst and their children: Alaric and Wyatt; Paige Friebel; Tanner Friebel; father, Lyle Friebel; sibling, Deana (Dan) Binder; father and mother-in-law, Mark (Peggy) Audley; brother and sister-in-laws, Mitch (Christina) Audley, John (Marci) Rosine; nieces and nephews: Zac (fiancée Annamarie) Rosine, Ashley Rosine, Tyler (fiancée Jamie) Audley and their child Kashton, Tiffany (Justin) Kraeger and their children Jeremiah and Kyleigh, Stefanie Binder and her children Connor and McKenzie, Michael Young and his children Roxanne and Lillian. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his unborn son; his mother, Marlene Friebel; grandparents, Harry and Ethel Van Nuland; uncles, Eugene Friebel, Bob Van Nuland; aunts, Roseann Toonen, Donna Van Nuland, Judy Leffel.
In honor of Brian's wishes, there will not be a funeral service. A private ceremony will be held. He did not want those who knew him to mourn, but rather to celebrate his life. A fundraiser sponsored by Brooklyn Lanes Bar and Grill, along with Wichman's BP Gas Station, to assist the family with medical bills and expenses will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Brooklyn Lanes Bar and Grill (235 Peshtigo Brook Road, Suring, WI 54174) from 12 pm until closing.

Kimberly - Kim Anderson (Van Nuland), age 53, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 19, 2018. She was born April 9, 1965 to John and Judy Van Nuland. She lived most of her life as a Kimberly native where she raised her 6 children. Kim enjoyed vacationing, camping and being outdoors but her favorite pastime was spending time and spoiling her grandsons.
She is survived by husband Randy Anderson; her six children: Keri (Chris) Bauer, Dannielle (Ryan) Hietpas, Cody Van Vonderen, Dylan Van Vonderen, Ali (Zach) Vanevenhoven and Alex Anderson; three grandsons: Mason, Beckham and Knox; and siblings: Roger (Theresa) Van Nuland and Lisa (Ed) Porter. Kim is further survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Judy Van Nuland; and her brother Daniel Van Nuland.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 4:00 p.m. until time of Funeral at 6:00 p.m. The Rev. Hortonville - Michael Steven Vander Zanden. Mike- father, son, brother, uncle, and friend- lost his battle with mental illness and completed suicide on May 5, 2018. Age 32, Mike was born in Appleton on September 16, 1985 to David and Cynthia (Janssen) Vander Zanden. Mike was a devoted father to his 5 year old son, Charlie, and treasured all of the their time spent together. He enjoyed hunting, spending time up north at the cottage, playing golf, and harassing his sisters. He deeply missed his older brother Nick, who completed suicide 15 years ago. It was known to all that Mike was Grandma Janssen's favorite. He was known for his huge smile, his mischievous sense of humor, and his many creative business endeavors.
Mike will be deeply missed by his son, Charlie Somers; his parents, David and Cynthia Vander Zanden; his 3 sisters, Becky Montour, Kelly (Spenser) Rathsack and Jayda Vander Zanden; his Godparents and aunt and uncle, Deb (Greg) Sprangers, as well as other aunts and uncles, Donna (Don) Stratton, Barb (John) Kelderman, Lynn (Mark) Van Zeeland, Randy (Basia) Vander Zanden, Patti (Steve) Canan, Linda (Jerry) Vanevenhoven, Jim Janssen, Mike (Tammy) Janssen, and Anne (Randy) Reschke. Friends may visit directly at the church on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. Interment will be in Holy Spirit Cemetery in Kimberly.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested the donations be directed to the Nicholas and Michael Vander Zanden Memorial Fund.
The family would like to thank Dr. Leonard and all the nurses in the ICU at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their compassionate care during Mike's final two weeks.
Our lives will be a little less bright without your smile, but we will feel its warmth from Heaven when you meet again with Nick.
