    Van Ryzin, Adrianna T. (Koene n)Adrianna T. (Koenen) Van Ryzin, of Appleton, age 79, passed away at Applet on Medical Center on Wednesday, October 06, 2004. She was born in Combin ed Locks on October 23, 1924, daughter of the late George and Johanna (V er Hallen) Koenen. On July 10, 1948, she married Richard Van Ryzin in Comb ined Locks. Ada spent most of her time thinking about her family. She nev er forgot a birthday or an anniversary. Whenever someone visited her hom e, especially her grandchildren, she always had their favorite treats f or them to enjoy. Ada was an avid Brewers and Packers fan and often spe nt time watching them on TV and listening to them on the radio. She enjoy ed her trips with Rick when they went to California to visit their daughte rs and grandchildren, attending theater productions and playing games wi th her grandchildren. Ada was a brilliant shopper and had a knack for find ing the best deals.Ada is survived by her husband Rick; children: Jean de Vera of San Jose, C alif., Carol (Carter) Njus of San Rafael, Calif., Robert (Sharon) Van Ryz in of Waupaca, Kenneth (Mary) Van Ryzin of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Valer ie and Kelsey Njus, and Jackie, Nancy and Dan Van Ryzin; sisters: Harri et (John) Rietveld of Combined Locks, Gertrude Koenen of Appleton, Mildr ed Wachtendonk of Kimberly, Margaret Pennings of Appleton and Johanna (Geo rge) Heider of Neenah. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, relativ es and friends.Ada was preceded in death by her brother, Anton, and a sister, Margaret.The funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, 200 4, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 East Lourdes Drive, Appleton, w ith Fr. Harold Berryman officiating. Friends will be received at the chur ch from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.     Harriet Rietveld, Combined Locks, age 82, passed to Eternal Life on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Combined Locks on September 16, 1926, to George and Johanna (Ver Hallen) Koenen. Harriet married John Rietveld on July 2, 1953, at St. Paul Parish in Combined Locks. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Harriet cherished spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed taking her children and grandchildren to the park, rummage sales, baking, and strawberry picking.
    Harriet is survived by her husband of 55 years, John; children: Mike (Judy), Combined Locks; Dan (Lou Ann), Kaukauna; and Sally (Don) Schuerer, Appleton; grandchildren: Sandy (Dan) Storch, Tim (fiancee Jill Radke), Doug, Melissa and Cathy Rietveld, Matthew and Thomas Schuerer; sisters: Gertrude Koenen, Mildred Wachtendonk, Margaret Pennings and Johanna (George) Heider; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard Van Ryzin, Mary Bavinck, Ann, Jane, Gerald (Marge), Tony (Donna) and Ted Rietveld. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
    In addition to her parents, Harriet was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law: Peter and Bertha (Gietman) Rietveld; siblings: Ada Van Ryzin, Tony Koenen and infant sister Margaret; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Ted Wachtendonk, Case Bavinck, Frank (Cora), Ray, Peter and Adrian (Theresa) Rietveld.
    Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at ST. PAUL PARISH (410 Wallace St. Combined Locks) beginning at 2 p.m. until the time of Mass at 5 p.m. The Rev. James Lucas will officiate.     Gertrude Koenen, age 81, of Appleton, passed away at Colony Oaks Care Center on Monday, October 11, 2010. Gertrude was born on May 28, 1929, in Combined Locks, to the late George and Johanna (Verhallen) Koenen. Gertrude was a dietary assistant at St. Elizabeth Hospital Food Service Staff for over 50 years. Survivors include her sisters, Mildred Wachtendonk, Kimberly; Margaret Pennings, Menasha; Johanna (George) Heider, Neenah; her brothers-in-law, Richard Van Ryzin, Appleton, and John Rietveld, Combined Locks. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Harriet Rietveld, Ada Van Ryzin, and Margaret Koenen; her brother Tony Koenen; and her brother-in-law, Ted Wachtendonk. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace Street, Combined Locks, with Fr. Andrew Kysely officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in her name. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Southern Care Hospice for their loving care.
