    Frommherz, Margaret M. (Brooks)
    Margaret was a woman with great imagination and poetic ability that was exhibited at an early age. She won 4 1st places and 1 3rd place in a creative writing contest at Appleton High School in 1931, a record that was unparalleled at the time. Her poems appeared in many publications, both locally and nationally. She was a wonderful mother, encouraging her children in any pursuits in which they showed an interest. She made sure there were always books and music available to stretch their intellects. Margaret was also a lover of animals and her poems about them were among her best.
    Margaret was born in 1915 and married Paul G. Frommherz in 1939 after meeting him in the hospital where he was a patient and she was an aide. He preceded her in death in 1997.
    She is survived by three children and their spouses: Marianne and Carl Fiscus, Tom and Karen Frommherz, Paul and Fran Frommherz; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by two sisters and one brother: Betty, Gladys, and Ralph Brooks.
    A memorial service will be held at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel on Monday, April 9th, at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Dave Vande Hey officiating. Friends may call at the funeral chapel one hour before services begin. Rather than flowers, the family would appreciate a donation being made to the Fox Valley Humane Association in Margaret's name.

    His coat has lost its shine, but hope burns in his eyes and I who have known hope before say now-now-now, not daring to tell him outright what I already know; that before the day is finished, I will deliver him up to the pound and walking away feel the sad question mark his eyes aimed squarely at my back.
    He is wondering why when he offered his all I took so little leaving the great feast of his love to be spread for someone else.

    Brooks, Gladys, age 88, of Appleton, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008, at ManorCare Health Services. She was born June 10, 1920, in the Town of Grand Chute, daughter of the late George and Elsie (Schultz) Brooks. She was employed by Zwicker Knitting Mills for many years.
    Gladys is survived by a brother, Ralph Brooks, Fremont; a sister Juanita Brooks, Appleton; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by a brother: Donald Brooks and three sisters: Fern Brooks, Lucille Marston and Margaret Frommherz.
    A private service was held Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at the funeral chapel with Rev. Rich Engle officiating. Burial took place at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or the Fox Valley Humane Society.

    Ralph Thomas Brooks, age 90, of New London, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016, at Crossroads Care Center in Weyauwega. Ralph was born on May 14, 1925 to the late George and Elsie (Schultz) Brooks in Appleton. He was united in marriage to June Humblet on September 9, 1944. She preceded him in death in 1975. Ralph loved Polka music and dancing. He raised horses and ponies and was a handyman that could build anything. Ralph served in the US Army Cavalry in WWII with General MacArthur.
    Ralph is survived by eight daughters, Joan Loehrke, Waupaca, Barbara Brooks, Kaukauna, Pat (Lyle) Nollenberg, Readfield, Carol Brooks, New London, Lana Durkey (Fred Fumelle), Weyauwega, Diane (Elmer) Jensen, Eagle River, Susie Brooks (Jeff Fredrickson), New London and Wendy Brooks, Waupaca; one son, Tom Brooks (Tim), Kaukauna and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, June; son, David and his wife Mary Brooks; one brother and five sisters.
    A funeral service for Ralph will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Cline and Hanson Funeral Home in New London. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Rev. John Brandt will be officiating and burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Readfield. Full military honors will be held.
