See Pictures of headstones from mreese;I took these pictures at Gill Cemetery, Alma AR. last week. Lambert and M ary are my Great Grandparents. They were the parents of John, Joe, Henry, Jonas, Jacob, Bennet, Albert, Henrietta, Dora, Minnie, and Angeline. I thought it quite interesting that someone had left flowers at their grave sites. Lambert (born 1828) came to the US in 1852 and Mary (Maria) came in 1848 at the age of 5 years.
Lambert was born 16 Nov. 1828 in Nistelrode, North Brabant Province. I do n't know what you have for Maria, his wife but most records have it wrong. I have her actual Dutch Birth certificate. She was born in Dinxperlo, Gelderland Province on 6 Sept. 1842. They were married on 22 Aug 1858 in Brown county but Sister Ella could not tell if it was St. Francis or Boniface because all of the records on that sheet were done by one Priest and he did not distinguish between the two.

LAMBERTUS4 VAN DER HEYDE (JOZEF3, JOHANNES ARNOLDI2, ARNOLDUS1) was born 16 November 1827 in Nistelrode, Province of North Brabant, Netherlands, and died 04 May 1902 in Yoestown, Arkansas and is buried in Gill cemetery at Crawford County, Arkansas.. He married MARIA MAGDALENA VINKENVLEUGEL Bet. 1857 - 1858 in The Catholic Church at Wrightstown, Brown County, Wisconsin., daughter of HERMANUS VINKENVELUEGEL and HENDRINA HAKEN. She was born 06 September 1842 in Erp, Province of North Brabant, Netherlands, and died 20 December 1900 in Yoestown, Arkansas and is buried in Gill cemetery at Crawford County, Arkansas. Her birth date is also given as 7 September 1842.
Lambertus Van der Heyde also known as "Lambert Vanderheiden". Lambertus and his sister Johanna Marie were twins.
Lambert developed stomach trouble and died in his son, Bennett's, arms, at age 74. He is buried at the Gill Cemetery, Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas, which is four miles from Alma, Arkansas. The grave was on a hill in the cemetery. The marker was made of wood and a grass fire in the cemetery destroyed all the wooden markers. His grave cannot be found.
Mary Vinkenvleugel was also known as Mary Fink. Her father Hermanus changed his last name to "Vinke" when he arrived at America. Mary probably changed her name also.
A letter written in 1885 by Mary's father states that he was known as "Herman Fink" in America. The letter states that Hermanus left Dinxperlo (about 1850) with his wife and five children, and landed in Boston where he worked for seven years before moving to Wrightstown, Brown County, Wisconsin. Mary was not an only child, although she was the youngest of five. By 1885 she was known to be living in Arkansas, with 13 children, two of whom were married.

Bennet's name also spelled "Bennett". Bennet Herman Vanderheiden is buried in the Stilwell City Cemetery.
It was said that Bennett preached the first Holy Ghost message in Stilwell. He could not read until he received the Holy Ghost and then he could read the Bible and then he learned to read other things. Bennett asked God to help him read the Bible if he wanted him to preach His Word. He preached in the Free Holiness Church in Stilwell, Oklahoma until his death.

Albert was the first to buy the land on Vanderheiden Mountain south of Stilwell near the Bell/Salem Community. (In Oklahoma). Bennett and Jacob later bought a share of the land from him. The three brothers lived on the Mountain together at one time. Albert had to leave because of his wife's health and he took her to San Diego, California. Not much is known of his family since then.

Anna Mae died alone at home. Her son Bill came to take her to church. The door was locked, and he had to break in and found her dead, kneeling at the divan as if she had been praying. The doctor said she had heart failure. She survived her husband by five years. She lived alone after his death and was unhappy most of the time. She is buried in the Stilwell City Cemetery, Stilwell, Oklahoma.
Anna Mae's sister Bonnie Bessie and her husband Steve Gober went with Anna Mae to get married. They were the witnesses. It was cold and Steve's truck did not have a heater. They had to cover with quilts and blankets. Anna Mae and Virgil lived on Black Gum Mountain for about a year before moving to Vanderheiden Mountain just south of Stilwell, Oklahoma. They lived in the Stilwell area the rest of their lives. Anna Mae was a housewife until all the kids were in school and then she went to work at what was then called the Stilwell Canning Factory, now called Stilwell Foods. She believed in and trusted in Jesus. She attended church regularly in her later years.

Obituary:
Bob reluctantly left his loving wife, Jo, and went into the arms of his Savior. He praised the Lord for ten golden years. Bob was born in De Pere, respectful son of the late Philip and Mary (Hoff) Crabb.
He was a loving father, husband and friend to so many near and far. Bob enjoyed over 50 wonderful years with his first wife Marilynn (Miller). He loved life and had an infectious positive attitude, always seeing the best in every situation and person he met. He worked for many years with Prudential Life Insurance Company and eventually went on to own and operate his own insurance company, semi-retiring in 1999. He was very instrumental in assisting family members to secure lasting businesses.
His door was always open and welcoming. Bob was a very active person and accomplished many things throughout his lifetime. He always gave back to his community by belonging to numerous organizations - too numerous to mention. Some of his largest accomplishments were graduating from Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia, becoming a Charter Underwriter in Family Finance, a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table, and taught advanced underwriting courses. He resided six months of the year in Naples, FL, where he belonged to Community Church, and the other six months here in Wisconsin, where he belonged to Appleton Alliance Church. He leaves behind many treasured friends from both places. Bob was a Green Bay Packer season ticket holder since 1957, and attended the "Ice Bowl." He left a family legacy at his cottage at Pine Lake, where he loved spending his summers. Bob was curious and a life-long learner.
Throughout his life he endured a severe hearing loss which could have deterred his career and life, but only made him more determined to be successful. His Cochlear implant in 1990 enhanced his life and led to finding his wife, Jo. His was a life well lived. Bob was a grateful and blessed man to have known his Savior and his final destination after his remarkable earthly journey.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Kintopf Crabb, his grateful and loving son Tom and Carla of Madison; his adoring daughter, Cathy and Dick Swanson of Hilbert; his Grandchildren who gave him great pride: Jeff (Kristie) Peeters, Lisa (Tim) Hanna, Tricia Verkuilen (Karla Niemuth); and Adrian (Heidi) Crabb of Madison and Zachary Crabb of Madison. He was thrilled by his great grandchildren: Nicole, Olivia, Carson and Kaden Peeters; Jackson and Sophie Verkuilen; Isaiah, Kimana, Declan and newborn twins Levi and Evianna Crabb. He was a proud brother to his big sister, Helen Wolters, of Neenah, and all of his special nieces and nephews and their significant others. His life became richer with the years he shared with Jo's three sons and family: Jeff and Stephanie, Chip and Dawn, Andrew and Kathy Kintopf. He was happy to be "Step Bob" to Preston, Kylie, Sidonie, Emma, Griffin, Marrissa and Liam. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sue (Peter) Neumueller. He was a fatherly friend to Deborah Hyde and Tim Nichols.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Marilynn, his parents, four brothers: Howard, John, Francis, and Donald Crabb, his sister, Sister Margaret, and mother-in-law, Gert Stroshine.
A celebration of Bob's life will take place at 1 pm on Friday, September 11, at Appleton Alliance Church, 2693 W. Grand Chute Blvd., Grand Chute. Friends may visit directly at the church on Friday for 11 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Thompson Community Center, 820 W. College Ave. Appleton, WI 54914, or contribute to a charity of your choice in Bob's name.

Obituary:
Appleton - Joseph Paul Verhyen, "Grandpa Joe", of Appleton, died Wednesday April 18, 2018 at ThedaCare Appleton Medical Center at the age of 97. He was born March 19, 1921, son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (McQuillan) Verhyen. Joseph was joined in marriage to Verona Brown on January 3, 1944.
Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II in Normandy and Northern France. After the war, he served in the Army National Reserve. Joe was a life member of VFW Post #2778, Legion Post 38, the Cooties, and the Red Arrow. Joe was in the second group of Appleton Veterans to go on the Old Glory Honor Flight.
Joe was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. He was one of the original organizers of the St. Joe's Food Pantry. The whole church knew that Joe sat proudly in the same pew every Sunday, surrounded by his kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids.
Joe is survived by his four children, Dennis (Phyllis) Verhyen of Green Leaf, Vickie Eberhard of Appleton, Tim (Jackie) Verhyen of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Lisa Volkman of Appleton; nine grandchildren, Tina, Laura (Jeff), the late Sara (Jim), Joe (Deb), Daniel (Lindsey), Jonathan, Amie (Keith), Shelby, and Will; 12 great grandchildren Alissa (Danny), Brittany, Kate, Ashwin (Amy), Kendra, Nicole (Justin), Matthew, Cole, Emily, Landon, Benson, and Rex, and 2 great great grandchildren Mila and Weston; two sisters-in-law Ruth Brown and Eleanor Sonnleitner, brothers-in-law Bill Brown and Carl (Toni) Brown. Special friend of the family Bruce Thomson.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved Verona, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. A granddaughter Sara Wallace, his parents, in-laws Neil and Mary (Burton) Brown, sisters Frances Ronk and Florence Jacques, brother Peter Verhyen, sisters-in-law Mildred Verhyen, Ferol Neisen, brothers-in-law Bill Jacques, Lee Brown, Mike Neissen, Larry Sonnleitner and Norbert Stangle.
The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 West Lawrence Street with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM. CAP. officiating. Friends may call at Wichmanns Funeral home Monday evening from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. VFW Post 2778 to provide a prayer service at 7:00PM. Tuesday visitation at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Military Honors will be held after the Funeral Liturgy. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park at a later date.
Joe's family would like to thank the entire staff at ThedaCare Appleton Medical Center for their care and compassion.
